I have a huge Burmese Python that i have mentioned before on this board. I would take him to the club on rare occasions. Lots of dancers DO NOT like snakes, and would not work my shift when management let me bring him in for special nights.
Never allowed in the crowd. You just never know when an animal will bite. That's a liability for the club, for one.
I kept him on stage, the club was warm, lights kept the stage that way. No longer tha 30 min. max.
With snakes on stage...first they can't hear, so rule that out, our body heat makes them attracted to staying on us, a big plus! And snakes endure smoke all the time during a natural fire. Smoke in a club will not kill them, or make them uncomfortable for short periods of time. Direct smoke in the face...never!
Lights, well a burmese being nocturnal (a night snake) will only slow his reflexes down. My snake has a heat lamp ubove him almost all winter day and night. Lights won't hurt a snake, music they can't hear and the smoke they can adapt to for short periods.
This is like you smoking all day in your home (or many of you) with the windows closed and AC running, your family pet gets much more exposure every day to this smoke than a snake in a 30 min. dance once in awhile.
I Would only wonder about others around and their frear. I had to have respect for others at the club, so i got to dance with my snake all of 20 times in a 6 year span. Now he is WAY to large. Zoo ready!
The club wont harmn the snake, the crowd wont either, it's a matter of respect for other dancers and customers too.
Snakes are highly adaptable to their surroundings! Remember snakes can not be trained, only tamed to an extent, they live by their instincts.

They actually have a very good sense of smell they just don't use their noses (they use a Jacob's organ located in the roof off the mouth, hence the tongue flicking... they pick up the scent with their tongue and deposit it in the Jacob's... ya sorry probably more than anyone wanted to know lol) They can't hear but they're very attuned to vibrations so you can imagine all the input they'd get from talking, music, walking, dancing, etc.
It is a cool idea though.
