How's Tootsies - I heard the manager/owner is the same one that worked at 2001 and Pink Pony (I think it was the Pink Pony or maybe it was Ponytails). Is that considered an "extra" club. I think the club used to be called Silk Stockings

um, to tell you the truth ive been in there as a customer with friends before. And, its a friendly environment.. But i hear its a bit of a dive.

If there is now a Tootsies in Tampa, and if it's run with the same modus operandi as the Tootsies in North Miami, I would think that very high contact would be the order of the day and that 'extras' could easily be found by waving a Franklin or 2. After all, 'extras' and 'South Florida clubs' are pretty much synonymous. However, Tampa did enact an ordinance a couple of years ago which might put the damper on some of the 'extras' (if it's actually enforced).
Tootsies in Miami is a very nice club to work in, though. It's very easy going and management is very supportive. Hopefully if there is a Tootsies in Tampa now they will follow along the same lines.
ok.. shes talking about tootsies in tampa (not owned by the same in n miami)--now PINK PONY.. a giraldi club.
love tootsies in N miami!
and melonie, that law is NOT OBIDED by. For the first couple of months maybe.. but after that....
I heard the Pink Pony was kind of sleazy, but what's a "giraldi" club?
its the owner. He doesn't have the greatest name in tampa.. he and his son.
look it up on the internet and find out about the december busts. Something about his clubs were a front for prostution.
Iv'e heard also, in the last couple of months the place has cleaned up a bunch, so it could very possibly be a decent club to work at.
to tampafldancer and curvygirl...I've worked at the pink pony before and after the busts. They mean what they say, at least here, about cleaning up the place. Part of the way they did that is whole new management. Also, in regards to the owners, Jack Galardi did not know to the extent that things had worsened down here. As to his son, Michael, who was arrested for bribing politicians on the West Coast, is another story entirely.
Now, as to tampafldancer's concern that it was sleazy and will return, I really don't think there's much of a chance of it becoming as bad as it used to since most of the people (dancers and mgmt) who permitted/did that kind of thing have left or been asked to leave. And it wasn't the owner's fault, per se, since his district manager, who was also arrested, hadn't been telling him what was going on. Would love any feedback about this.
Age is only important when it comes to wine and whiskey!

Pink Pony has had a extensive history of being an extras club so I think it will take a longtime of no extras before that reputation changes.
The extras customers will have to spread the word amoung themselves that extras aren't available anymore before the majority of the customer base is there to buy dances rather than extras- i.e. becoming a "clean club".
That takes time, if it happens at all.
The location of the club doesn't help with it's reputation either. For decades that area of Tampa has been a heavy prostitution area. And it still is today.
That's alot to overcome so honestly I have my doubts about the future of Pink Pony being a clean club.
i was refering to jack, because he and his son are in the same business. (buying and selling clubs to eachother) Not because JACK knew what was going on.
The club itself (been in after busts) is pretty clean now. (but pretty empty) as far as customers.
My concern was not expressed here on how it was sleezy and will return. IN fact.. i said it was much cleaner.
this may be a bit blunt, but i don't see pp going anywhere soon with "SOME" of the dancers they still have that cannot provide extras any longer. However, i do wish the club good luck and do hope that i am wrong.
also, some of the girls that were fired, ive heard have returned. But thats just heir-say.
