I get a flat rate of $25 per girl and I work at what I consider to be lower middle end. I should add that I also get a $30. shiftpay and the girls also have to each tip our doorman $20 plus if I'm not mistaken $5. for every champagne room...wait a sec the doorman can make at least as much sometimes more than me!WTF!

ALmost every club I've worked at in ATL white/blue collar, upscale, redneck truck stop- whatever is $10 or 10% and the d.j.'s keep track of what you are doing through their spy network

if 10% is whats expected than thats what I give ................. Greasing palms is a major part of this business. By tipping my d.j. well I insure that I hear what I want, I get good rotation, don't have any probs moving my set around, and that I get on stage with the girls I want (we have 2 satellites). If I'm not making $$ they come and get it started by tipping me and inviting guys up to the stage and talking me up.

I also buy my d.j's a drink every shift --$3.50 isn't a lot of cash but the goodwill that it creates is worth so much more.

I've worked with girls who don't give the 10% and thr d.j's give them a hard time. Unless your money can't be accounted for --like doing a v.i.p. and getting $400 when the going rate is $100-- the d.j's probably gonna know and he'll make you pay for it some way

most everywhere I have danced its 10%, sometimes with a min of 5 or 10. one place it was a dollar a song paid after each set, unless of course you only made $2-$3, then you didnt have to give it all up.

I always tip 10%, but never more than $40 (unless I made, like, $1000, and that hasn't happened yet!)

Minimum is $5, unless it is a craptastic night and nobody made any money. I don't tip on nights I'm going home with $30. Roughly 10%, sometimes he leaves before I'm done collecting money, and I don't give up money unless I already have it - what if the VIP manager says last minute I violated a rule and have to forfeit my money from that?
I'll also note that our's gets a salary of $300 a week, he says he only uses the tips to buy CDs and such, but has also implied that it helps keep favorite songs to specific dancers.
We don't have anyone else to tip.

Whenever the club had the $10 or 10% rule my base pay for a DJ was the price of a dance~ add to that any special requests like:

    special songs- $ 2/3 a song.
Single stage rotation skip: 1/2 price of a dance
total stage opt out : price of 3 dances

DJ's seemed to love me because of that too

I think a lot should depend on the DJ him/herself. How good of a job do they do? How much effort do they put into working? Etc..
At my club during the week min tipout is $8 (I''ve never given less than $20), weekends min tipout is $15 and I've never tipped out less than $30.
That being said, my DJ does everything for me, from putting me up in rotation where I want to go, getting me drinks, pointing out good customers etc. Now if I had a DJ that just did the basics, providing he wasn't a jerk, I'd still tip over the min-can never go wrong greasing the hands of the DJ's-they learn who is their money and who isn't.

$10 that's it... unless I request a special song, then a few dollars extra per song. Our DJ gets paid full time minimum wage ($6.75 for 40hrs./wk) and min. tip out is $10 per girl, but there are usually at least 25 girls per shift.

I used to tip my dj a lot then I went to a few other clubs and realized how much a good dj does! Now I don't tip much at all. Giving him $10 is normal, but still makes me resentful.

Hey I never realized how much those guys could make off us girls. $20 x 8 = wtf

I feel very strongly in the aspect that the dj has the ability to make you or break you, I always tip at least 10% unless he has really screwed up big time!

It's $10 or 10%. I'm luycky to have great DJ's, two of which I've known since i started dancing over 6 years ago. They know my taste and I'll always get what songs I request, these guys know me so well I usually don't have to ask for songs. They'll also let me pick my stage partner for the shift (we run two girls on stage at a time). They take care of me and I take care of them. But they also understand if it's been a crappy night and I can't afford a big tip out. I love my dj's!

I pretty much go by the 10%. A minimum of $10 severely irritates me. If I make $30 that DJ is getting $3. But if I make $1000 he will get $100. Otherwise the DJ has no incentive to perform.

In the club I work now, the DJ is not supposed to keep us off stage even if we are doing lap dances. But it can be done and some DJ's do it with no ill effects. It makes it hard to make money when the DJ keeps calling us to stage in the middle of a long run of dances, especially when there are already 2 or 3 dancers up there. So if the DJ can see his way clear to letting me finish my lap dances before putting me on stage then he will see it in his tip-out.
You get what you put up with

In Texas clubs there are lots of girls, so even with $5 min he still makes good money. Most girls pay 10, I always pay 20 to stay off the rotation. I would never think to give my DJ 10% of what I'm making. With 40 girls on a slow night and upwards of 70 on a weekend, he's making more money than most of the girls are.

As a former (and hopefully soon to be current, again) DJ let me say that I agree, 10% sounds a bit wildly inflated for most clubs. And it's been my experience that the only DJs who whine and bitch about deserving more tip-out are the ones who aren't worth the money they already got (of course there are exceptions for those dancers who are VERY demanding and whiny then don't want to tip at all - but from what I can tell those kind of girls don't hang out here - this forum seems to be strictly ladies)

There isn't a minimum where I am at... so, I use my old club rule:

$20 usually, more if he takes care of me... its usually more... my DJ's get anywhere from $20 to $75-depends on me and depends on my night.
