    Default club advice

After a few months of deliberation, as well as nights of reading the SW forums, I finally got the balls to check out the strip clubs in my area. I live in Eastern Washington, and the two closest clubs to me are an hour and a half away. This is actually a good thing, since I wouldn't want anyone I know seeing me at work (not that I'd be ashamed to be a dancer, I'd just rather not have classmates or my professors see me naked!). My two options are the Deja Vu in Spokane and Stateline Showgirls in Post Falls, Idaho. The plan is to start of as a waitress (as I have absolutely no experience with strip clubs) and eventually dance.

Deja Vu had very friendly dancers and, while it wasn't crowded at all, the customers there seemed to be spending money. I tipped every dancer during their stage sets, which they appreciated. I also talked a customer into buying me AND himself a lap dance, haha...how's that for hustling? The dance was fairly high contact (one way contact) but the dancer had a bikini on the whole time. Stage dances are fully nude. The club also has champagne rooms ($$$ potential) and shower shows (not exactly sure what those are). The dancers did a lot of pole tricks and floor work, which I was trying to study, but I couldn't pay much attention because that customer talked me to death! He was a sweet man, though, and promised to be my first regular if I get a job there. The manager said they are not hiring waitresses and that if I want to dance, I should come for amateur night.

Stateline Showgirls is also fully nude. As soon as I walked in the door, I was given an application and I talked to one of the owners, so I didn't see much dancing (I didn't pay to get in, so I didn't want to push my luck and ask to stay, lol). The dancers I did see tended to use the pole less and just did slow, sexy dancing across the stage. Lap dances there are either topless or nude, but they appeared to be no contact air dances. The dancer at Deja Vu who gave me my dance warned me that Showgirls is much more strict when it comes to contact, and said the other girls can be bitchy if a dancer is making more money than them. Of course, I wouldn't judge a club off one girl's opinion, but I will take that into consideration. Personally, I think I'd rather give a more personal lap dance but keep my clothes on than get totally naked and dance 3 feet away from the customers.

So now that I've typed a novel (sorry!!) my question is- what would you ladies do? The manager at Stateline hired me on the spot as a waitress- he has a spot opening up next week, and I need to start working ASAP. When I feel ready to dance, should I start at Stateline and then switch to Deja Vu when I learn the sexy pole tricks they all seem to know? Is anyone familiar with Washington laws vs. Idaho laws? Again, sorry this is so darn long. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

(I should also mention that Stateline has no house fee, while the Vu charges $35).

Its not that difficult a decision. If you want to waitress and get used to the whole scene then take that job. If you want to dance then you don't have a job yet. It sounds like the stateline is a place where girls don't make much money if there is no house fee. Thats just weird. If they pay their waitresses more than the standard 2.35 then the waitresses don't make many tips either.

If you think dancing is for you then don't waste your time waitressing. You will learn a lot about drinks and such, but I think its easier to jump right in and start building your customer base and working on your moves.

You are fortunate to have found this site becasue you will not make as many Newbie mistakes. I don't know anything about your area, sorry, but you may be looking at the big fancy clubs when you would do much better at a smaller blue collar bar. I prefer my smaller club. It was friendler and my hustling skills pay off big time here.

As a waitress you will learn all the drinks which could come in handy, but I have seen many waitresses work their asses off and not make nearly as much as strippers.

I say wait and get a job stripping unless you really need money and their are no other clubs around, then take the waitressing job.

I agree with MotherDaisy. If you feel that stripping is for you - go for it! I'd say audition at the Deja Vu - cos like you said, you'd like a more personal vibe between you & your customer. ... And if the only reason you aren't going for stripping, at the moment, is cos you're worried about the pole tricks... Well, that's just a dumb thing. You can always go into the club early & practice & when you close & are waiting to leave you can practice... Not to mention I'm sure the other girls will be glad to show you some things. That's how I got some of my moves! Anywho - let us know what ya do... I'm curious.

    Thanks for the advice, ladies!

I called Stateline tonight, as the owner told me to do. I was prepared to take the waitressing job because I didn't want to seem like a flake. The guy said the girl I was supposed to take over for is moving back to Cali, where she's from, but she didn't move this week after all. So the job hasn't opened up yet. He told me to call back next week. However, I'm thinking I'll just audition at the Deja Vu instead. You're right, I can learn pole tricks by practicing and asking the other girls for help, and I should focus on learning moves rather than serving drinks.

I think I am going to spend the next few weeks really hitting the gym hard, then go back to the Vu and ask for an audition. I'd probably do ok now- I'm 5'6", 135 pounds, a flat stomach but some excess baggage in my thighs & ass- but toning up the legs and butt more will give me more self-confidence. Plus I need to perfect walking in my 6 inch heels, haha.

Again, thanks for the advice. It gave me the kick in the butt I needed to go for it instead of sitting on the sidelines, waitressing forever!

i made an account to reply to this, and i would like to see who you are sexyjess. I live in Idaho about 15 min away from stateline and would definatly say go for stateline. The stateline girls are much hotter as well as better dancers than the girls at deja vu. I dont know what you are talking about when you say stateline is less contact whenever i get a lap dance its always full nude and very physical. My friend accidentally put his hands up and held her hips while the girl was shaking his head around in her tits and nothing really heppend except she just whisperd no touching in his ear and he apoligized and she very casually said "oh its ok dont worry." Once again i say go for stateline but thats just me. If you want to ease into it stateline is good at that too, I know some of the waitresses from school and sometimes the dj will let them go on the stage in between dances to show them off and get used to being on stage in front of a lot of people. The girls also seem to be having fun when they are there maybe because they have to but they seem genuely having fun with their co workers off stage and over at the bar across the street. Go for stateline!! ill come see you.

Please be really careful dancing in Washington, Sexyjess. I would NOT go to any privately owned club. I was recently hit with a misdeamor violation for coming within FOUR FEET of somebody on a lapdance. The laws are really, really strict in this state, and they're just starting to crack down on them. According to law, you must be FULLY dressed off stage, you cannot come within four-feet of a customer while doing a private dance, you cannot take money directly from a customer, and you cannot allow yourself to be touched at any time. Sucks, huh? You're better off jetting over to Idaho or something.
If you must work here, DejaVu is a better better because in our state, they donate a HUGE sum of money to Crimestoppers every year, so the cops pretty much leave them alone. Undercover cops are all over the place trying to bust hard-working girls. Email me if you need more information, sweetie. Good luck.
