    Default Do you miss dancing?

This is really for ex dancers who have gone on to a different life. I didn't say a better life because the ATF I knew last year left the area when her husband graduated from College and took a very high paying job. She keeps in touch by email and says she misses the customer interaction at the club. She is also a student and is between semesters and is somewhat bored. Her dancing put her husband through college and supported them the last 4 or 5 years. Do dancers generally miss the job and all the craziness that goes along with it? What exactly is it that you miss? This girl did not do extras but did full contact lap dances at some very popular clubs. At the club I met her at she had about a dozen regulars some of whom went back the full three years she danced at this club. I've known her about a year and consider her a good friend.

Well I'm not dancing at the moment due to a couple of different factors - I had my baby this past August, so was out for a few months both before and after her birth. I danced a few shifts again in November and then was in a car accident in early December. I broke my femur and still have a limp, so am not dancing yet again - although going stir crazy not being back at work!!

I miss the sheer social atmosphere of dancing. I'm an excellent saleswoman and truly enjoy "talking it up" (except of course on those miserable nights that we all have sometimes), and I don't go out very much for "real socializing."

I miss being told that I'm sexy - it used to bug me sometimes when I was dancing, to be told that over and over again by guys who wouldn't spend money, but now that I'm post-pregnancy and not dancing, I'm having some body image issues that I would like to clear up.

I miss the friendships that I formed in one of my former clubs, it was a small and close-knit club. I don't miss friendships from the other clubs, bc there it was just work. Big club, lots of girls, lots of competition, I just went there to make my money and leave.

I miss having an excuse to put on make-up every day. I LOVE makeup and really just can't justify spending time gettin' pertty everyday just to take care of my baby and go to classes on campus.

Thanks for the replies. Is there anything about the sexually charged atmosphere that anyone misses?
