    Default Burnout

Hello Ladies, new to the board but happy to be here. I'm fishing for some sympathy because I just got off of a three week booking of double shifts every day and my feet and spirit are fried. I slept all the way home on the plane, the first time I ever forgot to enjoy the plane ride home. "Looking California/ Feeling Minnesota.." I look great but I feel hammered up inside. I'm ready to keep dancing for the next few years, but if I'm this frazzled after three years, where will I be in six? Angsty....
On a bright note, I've traveled all over the place so I have lots of stories and advice. Comments are welcome! Much love to you. madmaxine.

Sorry honey, you got my sympathy. I was a working part-time before and whenever I was scheduled to work more than 3 consecutive nights in a row (only night shift) I was always truly done-in (but I had school to go to as well I guess). I just don't know how you do it so I admire your strength!

Well, I'm off to Portugal this summer for an intensse month of tough nights and sore feet. I don't know how I'll manage after being outta the game for the better part of a year. I hope I'll be alive after it!! x

    Hey hun,

You will make it for years to come, but you have to remember to have a few days off. 3 weeks of double shifts? I'd be "feeling minnesota" too. lol

Just take some time to unwind, go to a spa or take a nice bath, and sleeeeeeep. Hope you feel better.

3 weeks of double shifts! Wow and ouch my aching feet...!

I hope you got a couple days off in there somewhere.
Do you mostly travel to dance?

Welcome to SW, happy to have you on board.

Ouch! I'm about to become a travelling stripper however I know my limits. I can do 5 shifts in a row when I'm doing a 5 shift stint at a club (only working there for that week). I personally can only do 3-4 9 hour shifts a week regularly.

At the moment, I'm only just started to travel so I still get a buzz about working in a different environment and the challenges (and experience) hence can easily deal with working 5 shifts in a row.

If I do want to do a pretty full on week... say 6 x 9 hour shifts.. I will do myself a deal: do that intense week and then have a week off.

Know your limits and know yourself well enough so that you can know also how long it will take for you to want to get back into it.
