I rated as a Hornbeam Tree, which, by the description given, is about 100% wrong in its description of me. Personally, I kind of figure myself as a nice shrubbery rather than a tree anyway.![]()

Walnut (the Passion) -- unrelenting, strange and full of contrasts, often egotistic, aggressive, noble, broad horizon, unexpected reactions, spontaneous, unlimited ambition, no flexibility, difficult and uncommon partner, not always liked but often admired, ingenious strategist, very jealous and passionate, no compromise.
Woha... I'm sooo that tree! Then again I'm also soo a Scorpio (mixed with Taurus rising and Libra moon)... and a Horse in the Chinese Zodiac![]()

Fig Tree (the Sensibility) -- very strong minded, a bit self-willed,
honest, loyal, independent, hates contradiction or arguments, loves life and
friends, enjoys children and animals, a social butterfly, great sense
of humor, likes idleness and laziness after long demanding hours at work,
has artistic talent and great intelligence.
ha this sounds more like me then my normal star sign ( gemini/cancer) well, except for the "hates contridictions and arguments", lol and the "social butterfly" bits. ha
and i hate figs by the way ewww
Weeping Willow (the Melancholy) - likes to be stress free, loves family
life, full of hopes and dreams, attractive, very empathetic, loves
anything beautiful, musically inclined, loves to travel to exotic places,
restless, capricious, honest, can be influenced but is not easy to live with
when pressured, sometimes demanding, good intuition, suffers in love until
they find that one loyal, steadfast partner; loves to make others laugh.
BAH!! I was hoping for something manly like an Oak or a California Redwood.... too bad this is so accurate...
Gosh, this just reminds me why I don't believe in this stuff. Absolute piffle.
I'm of unusual stature? Sometimes act superior? (honey, I AM superior!)
The only thing they got right was that I'm physically fit (that's right) :afro:. I don't need a feckin' tree to tell me that.
(oh, and apparently I'm a chestnut tree btw. Fantastic. Ready to be roasted).

Ditto. It reminds me of one of the PBS specials done on James Randi, the famous person who debunks the psychic surgeons, spoon benders, etc. He did an experiment to explain how horiscopes work. He did an experiment at, I belive, UCLA. He filled an auditorium with about 100 students. He asked each of them to fill out a brief questionairre about themselves and put their names on each one and seal it in an envelope. They were told that they were to receive a private horiscope biography written about them by a world famous astrologer based on the questions they answered. They were all told to return in one week to receive their profile. One week later, the same students returned. Upon entering, they were given a sealed package and were told not to open it until told to do so. After they were all seated, they were asked to open their package and read their profile. Each horoscope profile was several pages long and quite detailed. After they were all done, they took a survey by having them raise their hands. They were asked how many people thought the profile DID NOT describe them, their personal or professional life or background at all. About 3 or 4 people raised their hands. They were then asked how many people thought that some things described them well and some didn't...about a dozen people raised their hands. Then they were asked how many peole thought their horoscope nailed them to a tee! That everything on the profile was bullseye about how they acted, their personality, their life, etc. About 85% raised their hands to a croud that was really amazed and lots of "wow"s were heard. They were then told to take their horoscope and hand it to the person behind them. Laughter erupted from the group as they then realized that, with the exception of their name at the top, every single profile was identical.Originally Posted by Malibu link=board=1;threadid=8262;start=msg105998#msg1059 98 date=1083855140

Few people understand the psychology of dealing with a highway traffic cop. Your normal speeder will panic and immediately pull over to the side. This is wrong. It arouses contempt in the cop-heart. Make the bastard chase you. He will follow. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
