Default climbing up the pole... then what?

    hey all...
i've just learned to climb the pole and i'm very excited about this... but what the hell do i do when i'm up there? i'm not strong enough yet to flip myself upside down (i can only go upside down from standing) so don't know how to get down the pole! right now i'm just climbing up... posing.. then sliding down like a fireman .... any ideas?

Can you do a simple little spin down the pole? Just squeeze your thighs on the pole a bit, hold on with both hands, and lean back...let yourself spin...

    Have fun!!

Something that looks nice is if you hold yourself parallel to the pole (easier than it sounds- I'll try to explain):

    Assuming you're right handed,

right hand slightly above shoulder height, thumb up, left hand bracing around waist level, thumb down, elbow in waist...hold yourself out from the pole, move your feet around like you're walking, loks cute.

Then, bring yourself in closer to the pole, lower down a bit with right hand then release left, and slide down slowly bracing with right hand and wrist.

Hard to describe! But I hope that helps.

At one local topless club, we used to have a dancer who had a kickin' fitness bod and always wore long, thigh high stilleto boots. She'd climb the pole, the start to do sit-ups at the top. The entire club would start counting, "1, 2, 3, 4..." and by the time she got to 30, the entire place was on its feet just screaming. Never seen that for any other house dancer, ever. She'd just get showered with ones when she finally came down. Greatest stage performer I've ever seen.

This is a cute move: when you get to the top, extend your arm out, like you're doing the Beauty Queen wave, and lean out a bit while you slide down (if you can torque yourself around in a circular motion while sliding down, so much the better). Of course, keep your dominant side arm and leg wrapped around the pole.
Or, keep both legs firmly wrapped around the pole and lean down at the waist, like you're bending over, then bring your arms and torso up and uplift your arms. It's kinda like a ballerina move, minus the tiptoeing around.

    You could even do this:

Hold pole with hand positioned right hand just above shoulder level, left hand at waist level,
clasp your right leg roung the pole so that where your knee bends grips the pole slightly and is parallel to the floor.
your left leg is in the same position as your right leg, but it is not gripping the pole.
You can slide down this way.

To give you an idea of what I mean, you can actually sit on the floor in this position to practise how it should appear:
Sit on your bum, back upright with knees bent and slightly apart with soles of feet flat on ground.
Turn both knees to the right and get them to touch the floor. The sole of your right foot should pretty much be touching the knee of your left leg.

This is pretty much how it looks although your suspended on the pole.

    It's a cute move too.

wow.. cool ideas so far thanx.. as for the situps.. uh forget it! that will never happen we have a girl at my club who climbs to the top of the pole (20 feet) and then walks around the pole on the ceiling. She'll also lay on the ceiling with the pole between her legs and look down at us mere mortals below ....
i have trouble getting a bit of momentum to spin around from a stationary position when i'm up there... but i will put some of the suggestions to the pole tonight!
    cheers!

Pinch the pole between your thighs with your knees straight, or pinch the pole with your legs bent. Hold the pole with one arm (more graceful) or both (if you're not strong enough) and do a body wave. The giration of your body would cause you to slowly descend down the pole!
