and practice practice practice. At my club, there's always the veterans that are more than happy to teach the newbies if they want to learn. Would they teach you at yours?
I learn by watching my fave's at work. If we have time after work, they show me. I also practice, practice, practice.

Isn't there a book that has g'bit of tips in it?
Anywho ~ I know if you ask, watch, practice... it'll be easier.

That's cool Bridgette, I also got my pole from platinumstages.com. Plus, it only took them one day to deliver it to my apartment in Phoenix.
which video would you guys recommend for being the best instructional video for a newbie dancer?
There's a book called the S-Factor by Sheila Kelley...I think that she's also coming out with videos on all aspects of dancing (lap, stage, and pole). (http://www.sfactor.com)
There is also Fawnia Mondey's videos (http://www.exoticdancelessons.com)...as for how good they are, I am not sure as I haven't seen them...

I think Fawnia's video is great for the basics.
The sfactor pole video is supposed to be out soon.
Poletricks101 is probably too advanced for a beginner, and is somewhat lacking in production quality. However, I can't help but be impressed by some of the moves Pantera does!
Watching, Practicing, Bravery, A Home Pole and the sites that Malibu posted.![]()

Before I started dancing I ordered fawnia's video....... waste of money....... the moves she gives you are really outdated. Shelia's s factor or carmen electra's videos are much better.
