    Default Juicers

I rarely speak about it, but I have been pretty ill the last couple of years (my current pregnancy isn't helping either). Because of that, I have a hard time eating most foods (if I can eat at all). So getting down vegetables, protien, and dairy has become a huge issue for me. It seems like on some days all I can stomach is toast, crackers, and hot cereal. Anyways, I would like to be able to get a better variety of foods back into my diet. I think using a juicer might help me (especially with the vegetables). Does anyone have a good one or know of a good one? I see the commercials for the Jack Lalanne juicer and it looks tempting, but the price is a bit of an issue. Any help or information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have a Juiceman Jr. I got from Wal-mart for $60. It works great. Supposedly, the more expensive ones are better-quality and get more juice out of the fruit and veggies. But I prefer buying a cheaper one, and then replacing it often, for sanitary reasons.

Juicing is great to up your intake of vitamins and minerals, but be careful. Fruit juicing can be hard on your digestive organs, and it will make your gums bleed if you drink too much of it.

if it juices then it will do I reckon. For me I dont bother getting the expensive brand as they all do the same thing in the end. Dont get anything too cheap that will break down or something but just look around.

i got the juiceman at walmart (or target) also for about $60.. ive had it 3 years.. dont use it constantly like i should be semi-regularly and it works just fine

the metal filter is a bit of a pain in the butt to clean but my sister suggested getting a vegetable brush ($1 at a grocery store) and now cleaning is much easier

also comes with a little booklet of recipes
there are also tons of juice recipes here

if you cant eat .. maybe find a powerpacked juice recipe
have you tried odwalla bars? even a nibble here and there .. id try to make each bite you can stomach as good for you as you can.. like with your hot cereal maybe mix in some wheat germ or protein powder (i tried one protein powder and it tasted horrible ..but im sure others might be good)

Thanks for the advice everyone. I guess I just wasn't sure whether or not this was an item that you can buy for a thrifty price and get a good use out of it. I've never heard of odwalla bars, but I'll be sure and investigate them. Thanks again for the advice.

Laya, I am sorry to hear you are feeling ill.
Juicing is a great and easy on your stomach. I tried the juiceman II but, I juice way too much and ended up buying a bigger, sturdier machine.
I also blend protien and fruit together for a smoothy.

When my stomach is upset, I eat a lot of organic green salads and organic whole wheat toast. Decaf green tea and chamomile teas are also very soothing. Warm milk is good too. I hope this helps...
