Default Anyone in Vegas working the Broadcasters Conv?

Just curious if anyone is working and if many attendees were in the club. If so how did it go?

I don't like the night shifts where I'm at in Vegas and plan on working nights the rest of the week if the clientele is predominately white collar attendees of the convention and the club is busy. I know a lot more dancers are working and if a lot of the attendees aren't hitting the clubs and spending money chances are payout won't even be made back and working mornings would be more lucrative and less risky.

I decided not to go out this year, but have gone for NAB for the past 6 years. Anyone who is seriously attending the convention is usually in bed fairly early. You are on your feet on the exhibit floors from 9 AM straight through to 5. The only time I ever even went out to a club was when I stayed after the convention for some R&R time.

Still, they expect about 90,000 attendees this year, and they are predominantly upscale males--even if they are mostly nerdy engineers.

I considered coming out of hiding to work this week after I saw how empty the rental car lots are. NAB plus two poker tourneys mean lots of tourists...

I guess I'll work nights and stay over through late morning (if my energy will let me) this week and see how it goes.

The Broadcast convention attendees ARE NOT hitting the clubs.

What the f**k is the problem? The older more professional customers are not patronizing us anymore. Most men who go to Vegas are supposed to gamble, hit the clubs and the escorts. That is what it is all about. Don't tell me men are different now.

I have talked to girls from various clubs. A whole lot of young assholes in groups are going to the clubs.

I wish the young f**ks would stop coming in at all. They are assholes and only buy an occasional dance from a handful of young sexpot looking girls and don't buy from anyone else.

Young guys in groups ARE NOT our customers. It doesn't matter how high end a club is. The young assholes and women who don't spend on dances are taking over.

You guys who are here. Post your experiences this week. I know that sapphire, Cheetah's and Tresures sucked for convention guys.

I worked at Crazy Horse and I did not see or meet alot of people from the Broadcasters Convention, unlike in previous years. And alot of young guys coming into the clubs, more then previous years too. Especially the extremely high end ones. What do they think this is, a regular nightclub? Yeesh. I've been avoiding working nightshifts lately for this reason.

My girlfriend worked at Treasures on afternoon and night shift. She said it was dead, dead dead. She is coming to work at the Crazy Horse with me next week because Treasure's house fees are too high for the amount of money she is making on night shift ($90+ to work with no stage, and the stage there is so bad that you lose money by going onto it vs. Crazy Horse 15% of dance money at the end of the shift). She says Treasures is way too hit and miss for her.

All the high spending customers hitting the clubs this weekend are the locals who have made extra money off of the Broadcast conventioners. The attendees themselves are simply not hitting up the clubs.

Well I'm not working the clubs but I'll be in Vegas Mon-Wed, to work the lingerie show (for my in-the-works costume biz, not to dance). Perhaps I could meet up with some of the SW ladies while I'm there

Where is the Lingerie show? I'll be at Cheetah's during the mornings those days except for Monday, probably from 6-3.

Maybe you could stop by and say hi or I can check you out at the Lingerie Show.

Working those few nights in hope of the club being full of high income broadcasters was a bust.

On nights here with so many girls (a lot of girls, especially Thursday) just making payout back ($65) is hard. I worked 6 hours straight on the floor without selling one dance. I was so upset I didn't even stay to work the morning shift where I could have made some money.

What I learned in the Dancer Wealth seminar will work with normal strip club customers but with the youngsters and old cheapskates at night nothing will sell them unless you are the girl that turns them on out of 100+ girls on the floor. A lot of LA people come here and they have a hard attitude. LA club goers are demanding and cocky. LA is the only place I've been where guys would rather go to nude juice bars over topless liquor ones. Guys there will not buy a dance in a topless club. The same assholes are in Vegas in droves.

Girls will sit on the guys laps and the guys are fondling them, (there are no available chairs in there many nights). Many girls rub the guys crotch at the table trying to get them to buy. Still a lot of them won't buy buy.

Or guys say they spent all their money on other girls. They turn their head when you go up to talk to them. The hottest girl with cleavage showing and booty shorts who acts sexy and leads the guy into believing he'll get a good dance MIGHT sell a dance or 2 and maybe a VIP.

One guy walked up behind a dancer last night and stuck his finger up her butt. The bouncer threw him out. Some middle eastern guys one dancer was talking to looked at her breasts and said, "Are those B cups?" She got angry and asked them if they had a 7-11 they should be running instead of being at the club. And these are pretty girls too. Most night girls are 8's and 9's.

Another guy I approached using the selling approaches that work with decent customers grabbed an Asian girl while I was talking to him and said to me he liked Asian girls.

Phoenix is a short drive away and the guys there don't act like these guys do. I don't know what the problem is here. Maybe because so many girls are approaching them and they have so much to look at in Vegas clubs.

Then this morning I went in at 8 and the first guy I talked to bought 6 $10 dances (floor dances are $10 during the day). I had cleared $207 by 3:00 when another house fee is due and the wetbacks and cocky f**kheads were making up most of the crowd and rather than stay over I figured I better quit while I was ahead or by 11 when another payout would be due I might have paid $50 to work from 3-11 and not sold one dance with 50 girls on the floor and a few less customers and hardly anyone getting dances.

I can't work under those conditions. I start feeling like there is something wrong with me. I have worked in lots of clubs and yes run into some assholes but not constant rejection like this.

The guys I do sell like my personality and honesty and even tip me. And most of those kinds of guys don't come in at night. These girls are like vultures and the few older guys who look decent at night are swooped up quickly unless you just happen to catch them first. And don't even think about going to the bathroom once you've landed one. Another girl will be on him as soon as you turn your back and he might take her over you. I had a guy who had paid me for company in advance last week and bought me and him a drink. I went to the bathroom and came back and another girl was talking to him even though she saw he had bought me a drink. That doesn't happen in other clubs much. These girls are desparate.

One girl told me she had been working for 7 days straight and still didn't have her bill money.

Hardly any of these guys offer us drinks like at most clubs. It's just a hard floor hustle approaching guys that have been approached before.

I really think the way these Vegas clubs are run causes the guys to be this way.

I'm outta here after next week. Just wanted to give you guys who are contemplating working here some ideas on what to expect in the clubs.

Four of my regular customers called me today and yesterday confirming that I would be at my booking in South Dakota in May. As bored as I am with working up there, it is nice to be appreciated and have some customers that genuinely like me and spend money.

Tina, this is why I'm not going to Vegas to work the clubs anymore. IMO it's just ridiculous. And to make matters even worse, there are all those new clubs spreading the customer base ever thinner. Guys go to Vegas expecting everything under the sun but don't want to pay for it. If I were you I'd have already left that black hole and come to Phoenix! At least here the guys aren't such assholes, and they buy dances! I am constantly hearing from guys here that I should dance in Vegas, or asked why I'm not. This is why.

I'm not going to the show as a vendor, I'm going as a buyer, to checkout merchandise in person and to set up wholesale accounts with the better vendors. So I'm not going to have a booth. Was just thinking it might be nice to meet some of the SW members there for a drink or something...are you going to be working those days (Mon-Tue)?

Bridgette, I an NOT working any nights this week, just mornings so any time after 3PM would be cool with me. Let me know your timetable and I'll hook up with you and anyone else who can come.

I may go to work this Morning (Mon) if I wake up, but for sure Tuesday from 6-3.

PM me with a time and place.
