    Default silicone scar sheets?

I just saw a neosporin scar solution commercial (http://www.healing-aid.com/conaffairs/first_aid39.shtml). it seems similar to http://www.rejuveness.com that someone told me about.... but neosporin has the adhesive right on the sheet, while the rejuveness is reuseable.

    more neosporin info: http://neosporin.com/scarsolution/sc...ion.asp?page=5
    neosporin price bought online: http://www.drugstore.com/qxp86526_33...car_sheets.htm

they seem to be about the same price, but the rejuveness is reusable probably forever, but it needs tape... I am kinda worried though that the neosporin's adhesive might be irritating, i was irritated by the adhesive in the birth control patch. rejuveness also has many shapes and sizes avalible, however for the shape i need its over $100!

anyway... has anyone tried the new neosporin one? I am especilly intrested in knowing if the adhesive is similar to the adhesive in the bc patch.......

Hi Ami I haven't used either the neosporin or rejuveness. I figured sheets wouldn't work for me due to work-so I can't help much in deciding between the two. But what I did use, that worked wonders was Kelocote. (www.kelocote.com) check the "about" page.

It did for me. I wish I had some before/after pics to show you-I do have befores, but I'll have to take some "afters" when I get a chance-maybe tonight after work. I got really messed up by an anestesologist *sp* and literally was in tears because of the mess that was made of my skin. Especially being a nude dancer, and where the marks were located, I thought I was going to have to switch to topless. Thankfully I'm all healed up now
Here is what I was dealing with:
http://home.twcny.rr.com/quazi/Elect/ The pics marked "Elect" were a couple days after the procedure, and then there are the 3 month post. I started using kelokote about that time I believe. I'll get a healed pic up asap.

God, looking at those pictures again still gives me the chills.

I looked at your pictures Tia. What caused that exactly? Were they open sores or some kind of skin disease? I have never seen anything like that.

I am sure either one of those scare sheets will work just fine. But for dancing purposes you need to remove it to avoid questions. Scar sheets aren't sexy.

wow, thats a big diffrence. and that stuff looks a lot easier to use then the sheets......

I dont care about the sheets being visible thing, as i am not dancing regularly right now. I do sometimes, but for the most part i am a stay at home wife/part time model. I make my own appointments. Actually i havent had a shoot all this month, but I did a whole bunch in march so its ok.... may looks like it might be the same, thats because of the warmer wheater.....

Hi MotherDaisy That damage was caused due to an anestesologist (sp). I was getting electrolysis done in that area (which is EXTREMELY painful) and after several months of torture, my electrolysist sought out an anestesologist for me from the local hospital. The anesteologist apparently used a needle too big for that area, as well as "skin dragged" the needle, causing several open puncture wounds. I was devestated and horrified. I definitely had a lawsuit, but it's just entirely against my nature, so I never pursued it. It was ironic since the entire purpose of the electrolysis was to make that area look better. (but in all fairness, it wasn't the electrolysist's fault)

Thankfully, after using Kelocote and babying that area for quite a while I've only got minimal scarring. Huge improvement.

I'm currently using sheets called "Haelan Tape" ..... they are clear adhesive's which contain steriods, so they have to be prescribed by a doctor. The tape comes as a thick roll that you can cut to any size, they are also clear and can be worn in the pool, bath, shower etc .... you can even apply make up over the tape .You wear them from 12-24 hrs a day ( depending on what your doc recommends ) for up to 4 months.

I'm using Haelan tape for a keloid scar i have across my throat from the surgery i had last month. I had the same OP 18 months ago and a few months after the scar has raised into a really big keloid scar ( this because i have dark skin ) . So this time around they cut the old scar off and have given me the tapes to stop it from happening again.

The reason i use the steriod tapes is because the surgeon prescribed them and because i heard that the sillicon tapes didnt work that well on raisec keloid scars, but i wouldn't know.

Tia-q i'm happy you found a solution for your scarring..... i just pray that these tapes i'm using work for me.

i dont yet have the scars so i kinda hope i dont have to do that steriod thing, the idea of just putting silicone on my skin seems good, putting steriods in my skin does not.... but if they dont heal right i might ask him about that.......

I'm gonna have to do something about my BA scars, it's been a year now and they're still pretty red and raised. I do tend to scar badly, especially for such a fair-skinned person. I have a big scar on my knee from a wound that was really only a deep scratch 15 years ago. That scar is the same color as my skin now, but it is STILL raised and weird after 15 years! I've seen countless other girls' BA scars (light-skinned, dark-skinned) and NONE of them look like mine. That sucks! It is not noticed at all at work due to lighting and the scar being on the underside of the aereola, but STILL! Guess I'm gonna have to get some of that kelocote....

Good luck with your scars Bridgette. I would definitely suggest kelocote (you saw my results) especially for difficult areas (such as with your BA scars). Hope you heal soon!

this is from another site I vist, not about scar sheets, but about healing surgery scars, thought I would share:

Well, I was talking to my bosses wife yesterday, he told her I was going to get the surgery.

She is from Thailand and has said that as part of their culture, after any major surgery they don't eat eggs or meat for up to 3 months. Apparently out of all the protein foods, these have the highest protein levels and this has something into it that affects the ability to heal as much as you would without eating those foods.

Now I can't go strictly vegetarian , in NZ we are big meat eaters so I asked about chicken and fish and she said that those are fine - it's just the red meat. My diet consists of a lot of chicken, I do have red meat at least 3 times a week and eggs once every 2 weeks as I'm not a big egg eater either.

So just thought I would share that with everyone, you may or may not chose to use this method - I'm going to give it a try - can't hurt, plus its healthy eating at the same time.
