I started dancing before I was old enough to be a cocktail waitress.
Eyeliner and charisma go a long way!

I also started dancing before I was old enough to serve liquor. However if you are old enough to have a liquor liscence (if needed to be a cocktail waitress) then I think it could be a good way to start out. It would give you a feel for a club's atmosphere and how things run in that particular club.
I was as waitress at a sports bar for a short time. It was not a strip club, does that count?
Dancing is wonderful training for girls, it's the first way you learn to guess what a man is going to do before he does it. ~Christopher Morley, Kitty Foyle

I went into my first topless club to apply for a job as a waitress, and almost immediately changed my mind and decided to dance instead.
I took a job behind the bar at a gogo bar in NJ - I lasted through one training day! I looked at the women dancing and saw no reason why I shouldn't, or couldn't, be a dancer instead.

I was a waitress for 3 days before they were going to fire me!! I was horrible! The manager just told me that I might want to consider getting my entertainers license or I was out of a job. lol
I was a bartender at my club before I danced. (But my club is a juice bar)So basically I served juice and soda, and after 2 months, I just decided to jump in.

Yep.. My first club, I started as a waitress. I got up on stage on a dare, and couldn't stop after that. LOL.
They have an old joke...
"What's the difference between a cocktail waitress and a dancer? One Week."
LOL, It was absolutely true in my case.
Yup! For about fifteen mintues! Actually, it was about four days.
