Default Strippers, any tricks for staying awake?

I'm not a stripper, but recently I've been experimenting with things to help myself stay awake at work during the night. I thought some strippers might have a few good tricks since some of you work until ungodly hours in the morning. Most people just do soda or coffee, but I don't like the effects of those on my teeth so I've been trying caffeine gum and mints. Most of them have some other herbal stuff that's supposed to keep your mind sharp too. Any other suggestions?

Sugar free redbulls (or the sugar kind if you dont mind all the sugar/carbs)
Any ephedra free product like Trim Spa or Stackers, but they can make you a bit shakey at first.

well, you still need to sleep a decent amount

also, if you drink coffee through a straw, it's better for your teeth.

I like a sugar-free red bull for extra energy, esp when I am going to work until 4 am. For the most part, staying up late is a way of life for me. Even when I don't work, I'm up well after 2.

Ginseng tablets or Yerba Mate' tea, but I still get tired. I have a thyroid condition too so besides the above and my thyroid medicine I take Thyroid drops and also Black Walnut and Bladderack extract drops.

I drink a lot of water at work- if you have to go to the bathroom frequently, it discourages you from sitting in one spot long enough to relax and get drowsy......I tried the herbal energy pills but they make me feel icky, burns the stomach too...Stretching helps too, and look, no matter what weird hour job I had, I always made time for coffee and tea. You can always bleach your teeth, and the caffiene helps expel bodily waste...can't beat that....

    Hi Ripley,

I know you are looking for suggestions other than coffee or soda, but Red Bull, Mountain Dew, and Jager Bombs are the only drinks that help me stay awake during work. Metabolife and Stackers also help me, but they are NOT recommended. Not only that, but they both contain ephedra, and I believe that it is illegal to purchase products containing ephedra as of this month.

There is no substitute for a good night's sleep. It isn't always possible to get 8-9 hours of sleep, but at least try to get 5 or 6 hours of sleep per night. If I am sleep deprived, I drink a Red Bull or a Mountain Dew in the morning, which helps temporarily.

I'm with Tina here. Natural, herbal remedies work GREAT for keeping awake and alert.

I absolutely love Sobe Green Tea's. They are fairly cheap, very thirst quenching and contain Ginseng, Ginko, Guarana and Echinacea in every bottle. Talk about a herbal alertness cocktail!

Red Bull's are my "dancing" stimulant. These give me great physical energy when out bar hopping until 4am. Great stuff.

Honestly, sleeping late is it, I can't go to sleep if I've only been up, say, 14 hours. If I woke up at 10am, I will not be sleepy until at least 2am. If I work until 3am get home at 3:45 [happened tonight, muchos fun getting rides home], I'm still not sleepy yet, it's 4:45.
'Course the insomniac, waking up every 20 minutes thing doesn't help.

blondehottie, there are a ton of ephedra free ones out there. The ephedra ones are almost completely off the market.
I have my own product with ephedra but havent taken it since I MIXED it with a redbull and had to make myself puke because I was so wired, and nervous and seeing black for a few minutes.
DO NOT MIX them, even if they are ephedra free though. The energy boost from them both might be too much for anyone to handle.

You're right Lexi, there are a lot of ephedra-free supplements out there too. I tried ephedra-free Xenadrine, but it didn't seem to work as well for me as the products with ephedra in them. I've never tried ephedra-free Metabolife or Hydroxycut though; maybe those work better.

I'm totally addicted to green tea. I make a huge pitcher every other day and always take some with me when I work.

I don't like Red Bull or any of those types of drinks. If you have enough of them, it is like being on speed. Not good. I found a product that does work for me and they are herbal guarana tablets. They are herbal and natural.

I like them because all it takes for me is one tablet to help me last 6 hours... the only time they won't work is when I'm exhausted or having had proper rest. Then again, I have herbal tablets that help me sleep better anyway (Tang Kuei). All I need is a decent 5 hours sleep and I feel great

You might want to try Crystal Meth, Ripley. Very effective.

Seeing that there is no indication of that being a joke.... no smile or j/k or anything like that it seems he's serious :o I mean wtf? meth.... what are u wanting to do M.L, have the girl suffer and die from addiction. Not to mention all the longterm disgusting physical effect like having teeth fall out for example.

    Nice advice..... NOT!

I've always heard the best energy bosting a person can do is to keep a regualr sleep pattern all the time. That means getting up and going to bed the same time everyday.

In addition to keeping a regular sleep pattern, I've found that keeping some sort of exercise in my life keeps me pretty wired. On the days when I don't get in at least 15 mins of stretching or something, I'm feeling way sluggish and can't stay awake.

i don't recommend amphetamines because the price once you come down is too high. i don't get a 'high' off them, but i used them to knock out 16+ hours at the club i'm at now in two days, and it was a baaad idea. i was strained from dancing in heels and exhausted from what the amphetamines stole from me, so i didn't have any energy left to do weekends.

now that i'm on the wire to pay bills and stuff, i looked at the problems i had the last couple weeks and i'm doing what i can to nip them in the bud. that means no 'awake aids' of any kind, just 6 or so hours sleep before i go in for a double shift, and some vague attempt to eat a variety of foods. we'll see how it goes this week, it'll be my first 40 hour week stripping if it works out.

if you need to stay awake, eat tons of vegetable proteins (peas, lentils, etc) and drink lots of water. eating a lot of vegetable protein, and lean animal protein (lean beef/fish/wild game) allowed me to sleep three hours a night without feeling tired or upset. i've not done it since, but it works, and i probably should try it again. a diet of mostly dried fruit and meat will give you stamina, though it won't shake all the tiredness.
