Default hello girls

Hi everybody I'm Trinity. I've never danced before but I'm really looking forward to it. I love going to strip clubs with my boyfriend and always admired the beautiful ladies who choose to do it for a living!
I have no idea where to begin. I am 26 years old, 5'4 and 120 lbs, and I run marathons and workout so I'm in pretty good shape. I'm also a 34B cup. I really want to begin at an upscale club, there are not many down here in NC, but I'm very inexperienced. I've never even done an amateur night.
My boyfriend is totally supportive and wants to help me do some "job research" at some clubs this week. I would appreciate any advice, like what questions to ask, who to ask, and should I go to these clubs prepared to do an audition just in case? How many people watch you audition, and should I have a few drinks beforehand to "loosen up"?

Sorry this is so long, and I also just wanted to introduce myself and say hello to everybody.

Trinity

Hey there trinity.. I first started in clubs about 2 years ago, but its really all the same. So.. Be prepared to audition. Most clubs on the West Coast do, but from just moving to the midwest I'm running into more clubs that just hire on the spot. If your wanting to get into an upscale club 9 times out of 10 their going to want to see how you perform on stage. Go in on the day shift this is when most clubs do their hiring and you will be asked to get on stage in front of everyone and dance a set. Don't be freightened tho!! You don't have to be an aecrobat on the pole..they just want to make sure you have ryhthm and if you look good they might not even care about that! I don't reccommend having a few drinks the first time you go on stage because the whole thing is going to be a new experience to you..and you don't want to overwhelm yourself. Although some other dancers will disagree. Make sure you take a simple outfit that is easy to get out of and shoes you can actually dance in. Take a cd with 2 songs that you really like. Sometimes the DJs won't have the music you like to dance to so its always smart to bring your own. Make sure to ask the manager about ALL fees.. stage fee's etc.
One last thing when you go into the club just because your sweet and new doesn't mean the other girls are going to be friendly. Most of the time their catty until they get to know you. This is just the way it is. So unless the atmosphere feels welcoming don't try and chat up the girl next to you unless she says something first or she may bite your head off ... if anything start with eye contact and a smile..if it is returned there you go..just don't go out of your way. Last, but not least..relax..its just a fuckin strip club. Millions of girls have been there before you and will come after you.. be yourself, have a good time and make goals!!
I haven't thought of anything clever or witty to put here..i just failed as a stripper.

Thanks for the advice Demi, and about the outfit for auditioning...is lingerie best? If so, what kind? What do you like to wear?
Thanks again

When I'm just auditioning I usually just pick out a cute thong bikini set and then a wrap. When you don't know the stage that well you don't want to be fussing around with clothes, ya know? Sometimes I may put on thin stage pants, but the bikini set is always underneath.. i'm not too into too many layers... <3

When you decide which club you want to audition at, ask them what the dress requirement is. If you are going to an upscale, gown club, you will need to audition in a gown. Otherwise, you have your pick of outfits.

I'm going to go to the clubs and watch the girls to see what they are wearing also. At the audition, do they want you to take everything off, or do they just want to see how you dance?

Usually if its a nude club and a 2 song set then they want your first song to be partially nude and the 2 song nude.. meaning take off a couple pieces towards the end of the first song and then when your second song comes up give it a min before you get fully nude-but do get nude and dance out the rest of your second song that way. WOW it sounds so much more confusing when you have to type it out!!

yes it does sound confusing. The strippers I've seen always make it look so easy...I've never seen anyone fall, stumble or have a difficult time getting out of their clothes. Maybe I'll practice in front of my man first lol

Its really not difficult..you just have to get up there and do it yourself first. We could explain it to you all day, but until you get up there and experience it for yourself its just going to be confusing..

There are several things you will want to check out in the club you are looking at to help you determine if this is really the club you want to be at. From a business sense, there are a lot of questions you need to ask the club and yourself. Is this a club that plays music you like. Are the customers there people you can relate to or sell dances to? What are the staff like? Do they have a house-mom? If so, have you spoken to her? What are the house fees? Are there tip-out requirements? Do they require you to dance on stage or do a feature act? Are there any other fees you need to be aware of such as oddball fees for VIP dances, etc. Don't be affraid to ask a lot of questions as the more you know going into the club will help you to ease into the job faster.

Thanks for the tips DancerWealth. But what is a feature act? and I thought a "tip out" was the same as a house fee?

hi trinity, nice to have you in here, just wanted to say that a tipout and stage fee are 2 diferent things. tipout is when you tip the dj, bartender and doorman. Stage fees are your final payout to the manager at the end of the day, its your lease payment for using the stage and premise. hope this helps

Actually, this is partially true depending on where you are working. Some clubs require a "house fee" which you pay upon walking in to the club each night. Many clubs in Vegas require this and it ranges in dollar amounts. Also, this money does not necessarily go to management. Many managers in clubs do not see this money, rather it goes straight to the house. Many managers receive bonuses based on how well the club does, which is where they see extra money as opposed to DJs, House Moms, cocktail waitresses, etc, which receive tip-outs from the dancers.

Also, to answer the question about feature acts. A Feature Act is required to be performed in some clubs and usually it's the minority of them. Usually 1 in 10 clubs you'll see require them. It's usually where they ask the dancers to either create a unique show by themselves or a group of dancers to be performed once or twice a night at a select time. I've seen dancers perform magic, fire eating, showgirl themes, schoolgirl themes, etc. for feature acts. It's a good way for dancers to get extra stage recognition as well as really wow a croud. What most club management or owners fail to realize though is that feature acts rarely draw in more customers than usual and when they are being performed, it's horrible for business. The feature act on stage isn't working for tips and virtually no dancers on the floor will get any dances because the management/DJ encourage the customers to watch the stage. It's just one of those weird things of the biz.

Irony at its best. Get this girls, I just got out of a job interview and was offered $70,000 a year to work in the DC area.
