There have been a few people who have attended the class from SW. If you look through the posts, you'll find reviews of the program.

I attended the class on Feb 22nd. He teaches very useful techniques of selling approaches as well as the proper appearance of a dancer and money and business skills needed by dancers. The class lasted fron about noon until 7 PM.

He will answer questions by phone as well. Amber didn't attend when I went but she answered some questions for me by e-mail and phone and gave me a referral to a GM in a Vegas club.

When I get decent customers the upselling techniques have worked well. I have increased my sales with these types.

Adam gave me an approach to use in a busy club where the girls outnumber the guys. You know how some girls attack a guy as he walks in the door when it is slow. He said to approach the guys as they sit down when no waitress is around, introduce yourself and offer to give the waitress their drink order or get her to the table as a warming up approach.

I did this on a night where the club was swarming with girls and the guys were very grateful and I sold one of them a VIP dance and his friend gave me a $20 tip.

I having problems dealing with the young guys in groups in Vegas where there are so many girls and customers have lots of choices in dancers and the guys are arrogant.

Adam is working with me to learn different approaches to sell these guys.

I recommend the class but before you attend I recommend you write down EVERY challenge you have had in the clubs you work at.

For example you mentioned having a night where most people weren't buying from you Venus Goddess.

I would write down as many specific instances or general types of customers you are having trouble selling so you can get some direction on those issues in the class. I would ask Amber how she dealt with the same issues and how she worked in a club with more girls than customers and still made more than she paid out, and since our business is gaining more young customers and losing older ones how to best make sales to this customer segment. I would ask her how she dealt with asshole guys who were too grabby or who wanted more than dances. You know what I mean. Ask her how she dealt with some of the sticky situations we get into in the club and still sold dances to the guys.

In other words, don't leave the class and then wish you had asked something. They will stay as long as it takes to answer your questions.

The one recommendation I have for Amber and Adam is to visit some smaller town clubs such as the types I work in Montana and the Dakotas and share with us a gameplan on selling maximum dances where the clubs make the stage a focal point and we have to go up on stage once an hour. There is a lot of opportunity in those clubs since the dancer to customer ratio is good and you get to work an entire 6 day week where customers outnumber dancers which is rare in big city clubs.

Overall I feel the class is worth the time and investment.

Venus,I was observing what you were saying about what happened the other night.I think what happened is this.We are in sales, the most important thing in sales and I dont carewhat you are selling is believing your product is number one, the absolute best and that everybody just has to have it.You may have started your night out this way but when you let yourself think well its a blonde night or this or that it ruined your thought process.Which is and always should be that you are the absolute best product out there. If you dont believe it , neither will the customer. When you think back you may think well I was portraying that but when you really think about it , you may have reall not been.It is so hard when people arent buying but you have to put yourself into that mindset of my product is the best and never stray from it.This may sound silly but it works.I may try and try and keep getting turned down and start tot hink man my product must suck well then I keep getting turned down or subconsiously I may be thinking this and not realize it.But if I can really get myself back in to mode and believing in myself it works.

Michele, you are so right. I know that this is a "sales" orientated business...I appealed to some customers, as I made $115 after house fees and tip outs...so, it was probably all my "view" of myself.

I am going in tonight and am already doing "mental exercises". Tonight will be much better and I'll be in high demand!!

    Thanks for your input!!

I would have to agree with Tina on many points. I haven't taken the classes (I would like to, soon), however I rarely work in big city clubs with more dancers than customers.

I have a tendancy to tap markets that other dancers are not. My favorite is the female customer. I got $30 on stage last night from a girl who had never been to our bar before. If you work with a lot of women as customers, you know that is a lot of money.

A lot of dancers avoid the female customer due to bad expierences in the past, but I have had an equeal if not more rude male customers, so I figure there is always a rotten apple in any bunch. My stage shows appeal to women, and I can get more dances from women then from men (even if I am just "teaching" them how to do a lap dance for their boyfriend).

Now, don't get me wrong, I do a lot of dances for guys, too. But on nights where the crowd is 50/50 I will usually do more dances for women than men.

My other thought is that the promise of more money at work from dancer wealth is location sensitive. Like Tina also mentioned, How about working in clubs where stage dancing is the focus (like most of Oregon). In the clubs here, going on stage every 20-30 minutes is the norm on weekends, and about once an hour the rest of the week. Once I got to Vegas I was making $400-1000 a shift. I skipped the classes last time as I rarely dance in Vegas, and wasn't sure if I could "double" my income beyond what I was already making.

I wish you luck, and hope you make gobs of cash$$

Not to knock dancer wealth or anyone else who offers these training courses but sales is something your kind of born with. You either have it or you dont.I think for new dancers who havent fine tuned their own approach the classes are well worth it.As for veterans already in the business for years,it may help to some extent but lets put it like this.Ypu can teach these girls sales and how to market yourself but not everyone has the ability to do anything with it.Just like not everyone can sell cars for a living and make 100,000 a year.Or everyone would be doing it.Same goes for dancing if you are not already a born salesman or women forget it.Most sales jobs provide training to their employees, this does not make them automatically sucessfull. Most dancers focus to much on slling dances.Thats not what are business is about, its about sucessfully selling yourself.Look at it this way you go to the store to buy conditioner, your not sure what you are going to get.So the one with the fancy packaging gets your eye but then when you try it, its the worst conditioner you ever bought.Just like with dancing yeah your looks may get someones attention, yeah it may get you a dance but it isnt gonna get you far.You ahve to have more than pretty packaging.Girls need to focus on marketing theirselves and not just selling dances.Tina Iam not sure but I thik this may be were you are going wrong.I suggest to everone in this business.First get your confidence level up and work on that as much as you can, you will need it to market yourself properly.

michele, what you're saying is misleading. sales are EASIER for some people, and in that regard there are those born to it. but being good at anything involves putting in the hard work and effort. anyone can indeed be awesome at sales if they actually do give 110%. even those who are naturally adept still have to practice and work.

that i think is where people get dismayed in sales and other fields-- they think there's some 'innateness' and that if you aren't 'a born hustler' or 'a born programmer' you can't do it. that's just not the case. you just have to work harder than the ones with a flair for it, but you can still succeed.

Mirabella, agree with you to an extent. But by being born with it, I mean someone who basically has the gift of gab and who is naturally outgoing.Sure you can learn these things but if they dont come natural and flow naturally its going to be 100 times harder to convince someone of this and it will definitely show.I also think that people may not realize they are good at sales so it may take longer to aquire the ability to effectively pull it off.But if you are shy ,non confident and not a people person, I dont care what you read how many clases you take it will definitley be much harder to be sucessful in the sales field.

I agree to an extent Michele, I am working to be more confident and outspoken with people.

I do well in a less pressured environment, but I am not overly persistent consistently and in Vegas with more girls than customers and customers who many times tell you to go away as soon as they see you approaching them, I start feeling discouraged at times. I feel uncomfortable having to be pushy with almost every group of guys to try and get dances just because they are tired of being approached by so many girls.

I do use lots of persuasion to sell some guys but to do it repeatedly guy after guy wears me down and I find myself wanting to give up.

My fiancee tells me after observing the crowd that I need to make dealing with these guys a game and throw as much shit at them as they throw at me and not care.

If I program myself to do that I can. I just never had to be so controlling and demanding with guys to get them to buy before. Now I have to or make no money, or just stick with clubs with less competition.

Tina,I think vegas is a good learning experience for you in the least. It will get you to bemore agressive and come out of your shel, which when you go back to your other clubs may help you and give you an advantage there.I know now it just seems to get yuo down and be a waste of time but I think you will see in the long run it will be a good learning experience.Because its makeing you act a way you wouldnt normally, your forced to and ahd you no been you would have never learned from it.

Michele.... I totally disagree with you. There is no one TYPE of salesperson... there are different breeds and we each are more one type of breed of salesperson. I highly recommend you give "SalesDogs" by Blair Singer a read to realise that everyone regardless of what you do in life is a "SalesDog". It is just that we are all different breeds.

This book helped me out tremendously. I learnt that I'm alot like a Chichuaua more than any of the other 'breeds'. Whilst I won't attend any of his seminars.. I do enjoy his book (SalesDogs) and his CD (Little Voice Management Systems).

The CD helps keep my mind 'in check'. I swear by it and can absolutely attest that each time I employ a few of the techniques on that CD (there are 18 in total which you can mix n match to your situation)... my sales do increase.

SalesDogs helped me discover the type of "SalesDog" I am.

As for Dancer Wealth Training.... I want to attend so badly yet won't be able to until I can either get a loan which will cover attendance to the course, airfare, accomodation and misc. expenses or else I save up the same amount. ... and .. well.. since I'm Australian... the airfare alone will cost me a pretty penny.

Anyone want to sponsor me or give me that loan ??? Just kidding.

I never said there was only one type of salesperson.Sure everyone had their own style. But I do believe your either born with it or your not.Sure a really outgoing people person who doesnt quite know how to go abou sales yet can learn it.But I still believe you either have it or you dont. Some may get it latter but they always had the ability and didnt realize it.If what thatbook said was true everyone would be millionaires. But I am glad you enjoyed the book and learned something from it.

I have been a sales trainer for 10 years now, and I can emphatically tell you that sales is learned, not something you are born with. Some are more confident, which helps them, but good technique will win out every time.

I couldn't disagree with you more. Being successful in sales is all based on two things...the skills you have and your ability to use those skills. I've been doing sales training for many years and have taught sales executives for numerous Fortune 500 companies all the way down to real estate agents and car salespeople. Although some people have more of a nack for selling, it all comes down to how good your skills are. Some poeple learn it through experience, some by training. I can tell you factually that to be highly successful in any business, there are two things you must master, the ability to gain rapport and the ability to close. This is what we teach. Yes, there are some people who will be able to use what we teach them better than others, and the reason is because some people are able to implement what we teach into their everyday life and some just mimmick the words. Even those who just parrot what we teach will do better, and yet to be a successful salesperson does require a kind of mental shift in attitude and lifestyle that not everyone is willing to do...that's the difference.
