Default Leave in conditioner? need advice

I know someone will be able to offer advice on this...My hair gets really frizzy/wavy, just in the front, right around my face at the hairline. After I blow-dry, it looks alright, but the humidity always turns it into a frizzball within minutes ! When i'm at work the frizz attacks when my hair gets tangly/damp from dancing. I want a leave-in-conditioner, that protects against styling/blow-drying, & tames/smooths the FRIZZ-but won't weigh down my hair. There are WAY tooooo many products, i've got no idea where to begin--any suggestions? What do you use on your hair?

You may want to try the hair serum geared towards keeping the frizzies at bay. I use the Frizz-Ease. Then I put on Rusk "Shine" when I am done. I have very naturally curly hair and I haven't had any problems with my hair going frizzy. I also use VO5's Total Hair Recovery on each day that I am going to work. I wash my hair 3 hours before I need to leave...then leave the conditioner in for 45 minutes. It really helps!

Redken makes bitchin leave in conditioners...since you didn't really specify your hair type I don't want to tell you which one in case i'm wrong. My hair is course and it's like it tries to be curly...but it isn't so it's half wavy half straight and super thick and that stuff can handle even my mess of hair. Another good brand is Matrix, if you have thin hair look for a light formula so it doesn't weigh your hair down, if you have thick hair get a thicker more heavy kind but don't use a lot. What I normally do is shampoo and condition my hair normally and then when I want to do a blow out I put in some leave in conditioner and or styling creme and then blow dry and THEN put an anti frizz serum in. The key is to use very little of each though...otherwhise your head will look like a greasepit Anyways! I hope that helps you out!

I've been using Infusium for years. I love it. Works great for me, because I have the frizziest hair when I blow-dry it.

Also, like Venus suggested, Frizz-Ease works great.

    Good Luck....

Biosilk Silk Therapy works great for me. It only takes a very tiny bit. But the product that works for you will probably depend on what the texture of your hair is, so you might have to play around with different kinds.
That's what I use, too!!! It is a hair miracle in a bottle!

Aprhodite, I get the same problem with my hair that you do. It always frizzes at the sides by my face. Since using the Biosilk, it's a thing of the past. My hair is naturally curly, but I blow it out all the time, and with this it looks smooth and shines, instead of looking like straw.

Aphrodite, you are not alone. My hair is naturally wavy/frizzy.... if it had the potential for beautiful curls, I'd leave it, but alas, it doesn't, so I straighten it. I've found that a combination of a serum, like Frizz-Ease, and using a flat iron works wonders. Flat irons can damage your hair, so you might want to use a deep conditioner once a week or only flat iron on days you work. But I get less frizz when I iron. Anyway, good luck.

i use aussie leave in conditioner...and then once i get my hair straightened with the flat iron i use aussie hair spray - um....the mega style spray medium hold, I spray it into my palms and then kind of smooth it into my hair evenly, when I spray directly into my hair that tends to dampen it for some reason and then it gets yucky looking faster again...i've also had really good luck with physique products but i have to rotate my products , otherwise my hair gets used to them and stops cooperating.

I use and like BioSilk Silk Therapy, Infusium, various Redken products.

Another one for you to consider is L'anza'a Curls and Color line. They make a leave in protecter. It worked great for my super fine hair when I bleached it blond and it was super fried.

Redken's Anti Snap is a good one, as well as Ego Boost by Tigi, I prefer Ego Boost, its better but Redken's is also a good product to use. I also use Bio Silks little bottle of shine stuff... I love it.

My hair is very thick and course and I have a slight wave to it which makes my life hell sometimes, and this stuff is truly the best stuff ever.

Bumble and Bumble's "Tonic" and "Prep" are awesome leave-in's.

Stylists use them for cutting sprays because not only can you spray and spray and spray with NO BUILD UP, but these products close your hair's cuticle.

This gives it a smoother, glossier appearance naturally (without silicone or waxes which weigh down the hair and attract dirt) and protects your hair when blow drying or using a flat iron. LOVE THIS STUFF!!!

Some one on this board suggested going to www.makeupalley.com. Real people review all kinds of products: styling stuff, shampoo, skin care, eyeshadow, lipstick, et.

It helped me a lot!! I have fine, curly hair, but lots of it and it's fairly long. I tend to get frizzy and most straightening products smooth me out but leave my hair looking dry.

I found the most awsome products. First of all is Sebastian Iron Works Hot Tools Protecting sray. A little goes a long way and it even makes those tiny little curly short hairs around my face stay put. It leaves my hair really shiny and super manageable.
I may use a pomade or cream for my ends and use Alterna Hemp Oil Mist for shine.

You can also pick up tips from people on that board that have the same hair type as you.

It is really helpful and full of great information.

    Cheers,

Also Sebastian makes a product called "Grease, flexible fixative". It comes in a round flat tub thingy. I use it around my face to keep my shorter layers in place. It does not make the hair greasy if you put it on dry hair, and not alot. It does keep moisture out, so hair will lay flat.

    I like it.

TIGI Bed Head Ego Boost leave-in conditioner. It works well for pre-blowdry and smells very nice. I use it in conjunction with Biolage conditioning balm, which washes out.....

I recommend washing your hair the night before. Paul Mitchell is best for me. Even the leave in is good (but only use a bit!). Also, the smaller the sections you go, the straighter and smoother your hair comes out. I, for one, don't use hot irons on my hair. But, when I do, I do it as fast as I can! I am the hair guru! PM me! Also, only shampoo the scalp of your hair. If you do the ends, you'll just dry them out.

I like Phytologie 9, (7 for less damaged hair) expensive, but works. Sounds like maybe you need a straightening/smoothing product. I like "Ultimate Smoothie"straightening balm by binge.com. Not expensive.

Oops, PS. A lot of products mentioned (not the ones I named) contain glygerin & mineral oil, both of which take color out your hair, if that's a consideration.
