Default giving up money for cosmetic surgery???

ok.. Lets say you saved up a lot of money for a procedure...

Does it hurt giving the money up?
Im having second thoughts about the quotes i have gotten after skrimping and saving for a while.

ive spent a lot of money on things in the past like car and cosmetic dentristy and my car was a poor investment, and im begining to think this might be too.

    I guess im just cheap.

    I guess what im asking is;
Is it hard to let go of the money? Afterwards how did you feel, and was it worth it?

even tho i have wasted a shit load of cash on my implants, not too mention time, i still think it was totally worth it.i am happy, even tho i only have one now

it definatly wasnt hard parting with the cash, and im pretty damn cheap. lol "what $20 for a top?? no way!! $15 max!lol)

i guess it depends on what you value

considering that it will actually make me more money at work, I wouldn't feel that way.

Do you really think your veneers were a poor investment?

I know what you mean about regretting spending money on a car. I've been saving for some cosmetic procedures. I went ahead and got one (Smoothbeam Laser) which when complete will end up costing me $1500. Had some buyers remorse at first because it takes a while to see results. Now that I'm looking better I feel its money well spent.

Now for boobs, you wake up right after surgery and there they are! It's not like laser or botox where there might not be a huge difference. From what I've read on the boob message boards almost everyone is happy--very, very rarely have I heard of anyone regretting it. So that's my next purchase.

I know how nice it is to see all that money in your bank account, and it is nerve-racking to spend it. But cosmetic surgery is not like buying a mink coat that you can only use on special occasions--It's your body, you see the results everytime you look in a mirror. Everyday you get to enjoy it, so go ahead and spend those $$$!!

When I got my first couple of sets of implants (500 and 850cc) I did regret spending the money to some degree. However, with my later sets of implants (all over 1000cc's) I didn't mind a bit because I could write them off as a business expense !

I find that the more wiser I get, the less I spend. When I was 19,20,21 I would blow some serious cash on stupid shit! I'd go to Target or someplace like that and I'd walk out spending 100 bucks or more. The result was, lots of makeup, clothing, socks, underwear and odds and ends that I ended up going, "Why did I buy this?"

Cosmetically, I am saving for my implants (I was only 860 shy, now I'm down to 350... and once the $350 is saved, then I need to save another $2400 for my down time)... I was surprised at how fast it accumulated. I really thought it would take me close to a year to save for it, but it only took me three months. I will have no issues parting with my wad of cash as I view it as an investment in myself that will last as long as I do.

I had absolutely no problem parting with the cash for my boobs. I wanted them and knew it would be worth it. It IS an investment for work, as well as for myself. I would go back and do it again, in fact I'm GOING to, later this summer.

If this is the first time you've saved money as a stripper, think of this. If you can do it for boobs, you can do it period. Set a savings goal for yourself, treat it like a bill, then when you meet the goal, buy a CD with the money or something so you can't get it so easily. You'll have a sizeable bank account in no time. Think how great that feels....

I went through this too when I was saving up for my boobs. I chose to take the money and buy a house. Looking back, that was the best financial move I could have made at the time (still living with the 'rents).
Two months after I bought the house, I ended up meeting a guy who offered to buy me anything... I chose boobs! --True Story.

Okay, I was confused! I consider the money I spent on my veneers to be a good investment too.....as I would with most cosmetic procedures. If you are making around an extra $100 per week because of better looks or increased confidence, then it's worth it to spend several thousands. They will pay for themselves and you will be a better you!

It all depends if you feel you will receive a good ROI. If it does increase your income to a good extent and permanently, then do it. If it only increases your income marginally.. then you might want to think about it.

That's all it comes down to in the end. Where you will invest in your boobs, I would rather invest $$ into the Dancer Wealth course (improving my sales ability)... as I see the investment in improving my sales ability lasting way beyong my dancing days.

Knowing how to sell and sell well (esp. where the job is 100% commission based) is something that you can take with you after dancing for many many years to come.

If someone gave me $$ to get a BA, I would rather invest it in other ways (business, real estate and/or stocks).

oh and Emily. Veneers has made a wealth of difference in the money i make and the confidence i know have. I make about 25% more of my total earnings nightly.
My teeth were not bad, but enough where i didnt feel confortable smiling all the time. Everyone at work thought i was a snob!
I will go so far to say that gum surgery was not worth it. They took less then 1/2 milimeter of gum tissue away and didnt reshape the bone. I paid 1500 for that and insurance would not cover a bit of it.
I did the veneers so i didnt have to get braces again, and i wasnt a candidate for invisaline at the time. I wore braces at 12 or 13, and didnt follow up with a retainer...
Anyway.. this is turning into a long post.. all i am saying is that im SO GLAD i did get veneers and it was worth every penny +

I paid "only" $2,900 for my boobs, but it was still the largest one-time payment I have ever made. Still, I'm happy with my boobs and wil probably get LASIK and Invisalign in the next few months.

Brigette had a good point with an earlier post. I realized that I could save a latge amount in a short time if I put my mind to it, and saved the full $3K due for my IRA in 10 days. I was pretty proud of myself and so was my SO.

It's important to enjoy your money a bit, but also plan for the future. There has to be a happy medium for everyone.
