Hmm, I might go down to the sister club for a bit. Last time I was there I didn't do as well as I did at my own club, but the girls are a lot more aggressive there, this was the one where I had a girl take a customer away while I was talking to him. But at least I wouldn't have to worry about 'stealing' one. And they have lockers, no worries about coming back to find my stuff ruined.
If you leave this club because of the lazy and ignorant bitches whining, id be incredibly disapointed in you.
TOTALLY! If you leave now, you'll be telling them they win, and if you decide to go back later, you'll have given them the upperhand and they'll make it more difficult than before. Stick it out hun. Fuck them!

Heh, misunderstood me, there are three girls that are better earners, ONE of them is complaining, the other two are friendly enough to me, but don't try to be my friend either way and don't feel this way because guess what, they go about their business the same way! They are always talking to customers and yes, have "stolen" customers in the ways I describe. Except I don't view it as stealing, it's just business. I might ask them how they deal with it. I've heard one of them say she really doesn't like most of the girls that work with her. *shrug*

Personally, only wish to avoid all out warfare because of how annoying, not to mention personally damaging, it can be to me. I'm not really concerned with whether or not these girls become my friends.

See, none of the other dances has said anything to me, apparently they just seeth by themselves and it gets back to everyone BUT me. Occasionally they'll go back up to a guy, and I'll move away, but if they don't, how am I supposed to know? With any job that I have little intention of following the rules I'm like "Okay, all right..." and go back to doing things how I do them. Bah, probably not the best way I could've handled it there.
Yeah, Bridgette, the 'we're here to be friends' comment bothered me too, as no, I'm not here to make friends!

you are there for the money HONEY.. lol

i would never go to a strip club to make friends!!! lol
Im too competitive, and i like to stay out of other people's way!

If someone doesnt say anything directly to me, its not even worth my time to worry about it.
If someone insulted me in person.. well i just think they would be STUPID! But i don't put up with shit. Neither should you!

Ooh I had reread my earlier response and I just wanted to clarify that when I said the "girls are right".. I meant the girls here, not at your club! lol

When I get back the DJ is like "that guy you did a lot of dances for, Ambrosia spent a whole ten minutes talking to him. The girls spend a lot of time warming guys up, and it seems like you rush in there and take them if the girl goes away for any reason." me: "I never even saw Ambrosia sitting with him! If I'm in and out all night, I can't be watching every other girl!" him: "You need to be more aware of these things, I know that no one owns a customer but we're all here to make money and be friends. Melinda [bartender, does bachelor parties sometimes] said not to say anything to you, but I think you should be aware of this."
See now this in itself pisses me off. If "Ambrosia" spent 10 minutes talking to this guy and didn't get a dance, then she either didn't ask, or he didn't want one. 10 minutes is more than enough time to be "talking". Once he's available he's fair game- fair and square. It happens, not every customer we talk to buys a dance. Our jobs would be soo much easier if all the was involved in getting every customer to buy a dance was to spend 10 minutes talking w/ them, and they they are automatically "ours".

I also echo the thoughts of the other ladies (and gents) here- there is no way you can (or have to!) keep tabs on what customers have been "talked to" or not! My God that's crazy!. Because a girl talked with someone earlier, that means he's off-limits?

One more thing-if you're making more money at your current club than the sister club-STAY at your current club. Don't let jealousy run you out.

I think I'm going to additionally employ Lilith's "Hi, are you sitting with someone?" or similar remark, that way if this comes up again I can at least say that I only saw that the customer was alone AND asked if someone was already there - at that point, if they still want me there, what else can I do? The only things I can additionally employ are watching girls and watch who moves away from a customer to go onto stage, and waiting for the girl on stage to return to a customer. I mean, I think that's a huge waste of time, especially when it's crowded...
Another thing, he basically implied that I do this because I'm new, and don't know any better, whereas I get imput from this site and a variety of other sources and from what I can see, this is reasonable way to operate. That's most of why I was upset, I hate situations where I feel like every time I turn around I'm doing something wrong. Unfortunately, I think a lot of the girls put too much emphasis on the stage and will tell a customer things like "Oh, I can't do a dance yet, I have to on stage in 10 minutes" which is kind of silly.

But thank you all, honestly, I was sooo miserable about this and feel a lot better now.

I've only been dancing two weeks and I'm already starting to get this feeling. Like last night, really slow (Maybe 15-20 guys MAX with like 10 girls) I was workin it, I went out and talked at least once to every guy or group) If I saw a girl get denied, I went back later and talked to the guy and he ended up giving me a couple dances. I saw one girl try to get a dance from this group that had already promised one from me, so I stepped up and asked the guy right in front of her if he was ready, and he said yes. I'm definetly not the most gorgeous one inthe club, I have a big ass (Which guys seem to like) and smaller boobs than most the girls, but a lot of em have crappy attitudes, thats why. (ONe guy was pissed that one of the girls was giving them dirty looks while on stage (cuz they werent' tipping) and at the end of the set she made a snide remark "you could at least clap" It's attitudes like that that don't make money.

Lol, i have the same problem at my club only its not customers i steal apparently, I steal the notorious corner booth that all the girls seem to be after to no end. They see me walk towards it and they scream at me, I just laugh and pretend i dont hear them. Whos gonna mess with a 5'10" stripper anyway. Noones lifted a hand to bitch slap me yet. Its a fun game for me.

Yeah, see, I wouldn't have a problem with a girl coming up and saying "are you ready for that dance now?" but I'm not telepathetic, I can't tell if she already asked the guy before going on stage or to the bathroom or just going back to video games. If a guy says "maybe later" to another girl, and then gets a dance from me, sorry but it's not my fault.

LOL Oceanblue! I know that corner-booth thing! Somehow there is this rumor that the corner booth doesn't have a camera in it, like all the other booths do. Now I try to tell customers this isn't true, because I've seen the video feeds, but nooooo, they'll sit out there and wait for Joe Schmoe to be done because of how special it is. Whatever.

The funny thing about the (special booth) is that its not special at all, there are no cameras on the floor over our booths, its just really dark in the corner! lol

Exactly! This is all party of the crazy, sometimes petty, politics of stripping. If you have a friendly work environment and get along with the other dancers, that's great - but you're still there to make money. Do ask if a seat was taken and be attentive to signs that a customer may have already promised to buy a dance from another girl, but if he gets a dance from you, that's his choice. You just appealed to him more or did a better job of making the sale. If the other dancers are jealous of this, then that's their own petty attitude problem.

You just keep on doing what you're doing, and don't let the girls with bad attitudes get to you.

As a customer I don't want to get a dance from every dancer in the place.
No body could afford that. I did try to tip dancers on stage who I liked or who deserved it. I'm strange in that I'm looking for personality and
somebody to hit it off with. Whats amazing to me is when some girls try they can hit it off with almost any man for awhile. And I like to talk and do dances. That's why I know enough about club operations because ATF would talk to me about shifts, competition, stages dancing,
how guys pick girls. She could hit it off with almost any guy except the really gross ones, She avoided the rude ones with in appropriate comments and no brain.

Believe it or not some dancers are quite rude, or for some reason I'm not attracted to. I am trying to avoid dancers I don't have an attraction to and attract the ones I do have a probability of an attraction to.

Dancers are trying to maximize income, but are also sorting out
really gross or unattractive guys in their eyes also. A dancer wants to minimize problems so given a guy who will pay who looks OK versus one who will pay who is dead drunk and rude they will pick the guy who looks OK. This would depend on man management on whether the dancer feels she can "manage" or handle the drunk guy.

So from the customer standpoint being "claimed" by a dancer is valuable because perhpas you can automatically ward off dancers who you don't want to spend time with rather than saying "No thank you."

A physical "In service" marker is thus valuable to me, or perhaps more appropriately and to the point, a club sanctioned institutional "go away" marker. The price for this "marker" is tips dances and
VIP rooms with the dancer I do want to be with.

A dancer who "oversells" and ignores the club sanctioned "in service" marker attracts my interest in a negative way. This typically occurs when the dancer I am with is called on stage, or does dances for other guys and then returns. I wonder why the over selling dancer is ignoring the cues from the waitress and me or ignoring the in service marker. I view this as intriguing and at the same time potentially dangerous to me on a low grade threat assessment level.

On the other hand, at times dancers will make a judgement of me and screen me out. Wearing jeans and a clean T shirt is not as good for me as wearing dress pants and a sport shirt which almost always works in a laid back but somewhat upper scale club. Wearing a suit and tie seems to be a negative for me also. This "dress uniform" approach only works in upper upper clubs, which I realy don't like anyway. This seems only fair that if I am partially judgining a dancer on how she looks and wears, she is judging me on how I look and what I'm wearing.

"Stealing customers"is a very interesting topic.

LM... don't even worry about it. Sandy was right. He must be on his meds lately. LOL. J.K. Sandy.

As a customer, I make arrangements in advance. I may get to the club an hour before the ATF or my current fav start their shift. There isn't and was never was a girl in the place that could get me to spend money that I planned to spend on the ATF or current fav. I turn 'em all down. It is impossible to steal a customer. Either they wanted a girl and would wait or they weren't her customer. Keep doing what you are doing. Screw the DJ and the rest of 'em.

Its respecful that you look for an extra drink that symbolizes a gitrl is already there. I hate it when I am sitting with someone and I have a drink and I get up to go on stage- another girl comes over and steals him. If you seee an extra drink have respect and dont approach him.

It is common courtesy to avoid 'stealing' customers who obviously have someone with them - drink at the table, etc. But if there is no cue that someone else is 'with him' and he doesn't say so, he's fair game.

Luna if it's just one girl who's giving you a hard time (and the DJ also happens to be 'defending' her to you) you really don't have a problem. She's probably screwing the DJ (or he wants to screw her) and that's why he's concerned - otherwise he wouldn't give a rat's ass if you stole customers or not.

I reread the exchange you wrote of between the DJ and you - he apparently didn't even listen to what you said about not knowing Ambrosia was talking to the guy, he was just being an ass and disguising it with sugar. Ignore them all and do your thing. You don't have to watch for girls coming off stage and all that, that is utter BS. You can use Lil's line of asking if the seat is taken (which I have used in some clubs with good results) but if you start going out of your way to watch where every girl is going you're going to lose money -- which is EXACTLY what the whiny bitches want! SCREW EM! Make your money honey!
