Default Inexpensive accommodation in Las Vegas ????

I'm not looking to work in Las Vegas as I'm Australian and wouldn't be able to legally. I'm going to visit LV for a period of 4 nights in late July or August sometime this year to attend the Dancer Wealth training.
Now... does anyone know of any safe, hygenic, budget/affordable/inexpensive accommodation in Las Vegas ? I'm looking at spending up to $90 USD per night and prefer self-contained one bedroom apartments/units or at least hotel rooms that have tea/coffee making facilities, a fridge (even a mini one) and toaster (microwave optional). I don't want to have to order room service or 'eat out' alot.

If you use a website, please direct me.

So far I've been using the below sites for cheap accommodation recommendations

GoldCoastGirl, there are two chains I can think of that meet your requirements

First is Extended Stay America (http://www.extstay.com). They have two locations in Las Vegas: one on Valley View Boulevard (west of I-15, just south of the Rio), and one on Boulder Highway (east side of town off Desert Inn Road). Rates are usually less than $70/night (US). (Disclaimer: I haven't stayed at an Extended Stay America in Vegas, but I have spent a week in one in another town, and it was clean and well-maintained.)

Second is Candlewood Suites (http://www.candlewoodsuites.com). Their one location is at the corner of Paradise Road and Flamingo Road (right about where the old Crazy Horse club used to be). It was also nice and clean the one time I stayed there, and right now their rates for that time of year are less than $60/night for studios, and about $75/night for 1BR suites.

I also did a search at http://www.hotels.com (make sure you're on the US site), searching by amenity, and the least expensive with a kitchen/ette was $118/night. At that price you'd probably be better off staying in a regular hotel and eating out.

(Don't know what dates specifically you were looking at; my figures are based on a 4-night stay starting on Wednesday, 28 July.)

    Hope that gets you started!

That time of year most of the hotels will be really inexpensive due to the fact its the middle of the summer and not tourist season. the excalibur is pretty cheap...as well as the stratosphere or terribles....
but like I said...that time of year you wont have a problem finding a decent cheap hotel.

Weekdays in the summer it is very inexpensive, I got a suite at the Frontier for $62 a night in June. I know that they have a fridge, but am not sure about a microwave.

If you are in town Sunday through Thursday, all regular hotels on the strip will be cheap during the summer (slow tourist season). You should have no trouble trying to find a cheap room in Vegas over the summer at a nice hotel.

I always stay at Arizona Charlies (2 locations) for $35.oo night Nice and clean, not sleazy, off the strip. Not so good if your'e cabbing it though. Eating out is so cheap, it's easier to hit the buffets 2x a day

The others are right, rates are really cheap in Vegas in the summer, especially mid-week.

You might want to check out the Tuscany, it was opened last year, it's only a couple of blocks from the strip, large rooms, coffe maker, refrigerator, and they still have fairly cheap rates. See link below:
    http://www.tuscanylasvegas.com/index...357b30ed9ebedb

I have found good rates on the following:
    www.hotels.com
    www.expedia.com

A couple of other decent, moderately priced places are the Stratosphere and the Sahara.

Now that my accommodation is relatively sorted ( to you guys I have quite a few options).... someone mentioned buffets are a great way to keep my food costs low.

If this is correct ....where is the best value buffet lunch and dinner ? ???

The reason I asked for a refrigerator (a mini/bar fridge at the very least) is so I can keep bread, cheese, tomato and asparagus in it for a sandwich. I just want to be able to have some basics in my room to eat so I don't have to always go out or 'order in'.

You can get breakfast buffets from $4.50 Lunch about $6.oo and Dinner from $6.50 - $20.oo Some buffets are awfull, others are great. I go down from Canada 2 or 3 times a year. Once you are in your room, look through the TV times. All restaurants, buffets( and prices) and night clubs are listed

I just got back from Vegas. I stayed in Budget Suites after a recommendatoin on here. The room was clean. Starting price for a one bedroom suite was $199 for the week. If you want sheets it is extra. Dishes and pots and pans will run an extra $69. Microwave was around $100 extra. I got sheets and towels and paid for linen exchange halfway through the week. Total cost was $296 or so. They have several locations just off the strip. If you bring your own stuff with you it is about the cheapest place to stay for the week. Good luck!

As others have said, LV rooms are very cheap in July/August in. You should find out where DW’s location is in relation to your hotel though. Traffic can be very bad, so if you aren't reasonably close to DW's location, you may spend a lot of time sitting in traffic.

The Las Vegas Hilton, the Rio, Caesars, Bally's & Flamingo are other hotels to consider for a reasonable room price. The Rio has coffee makers in every room. I'm not sure if they have a mini-frig though.

Caesars hasn't been cheap in 30 years. They usually charge about $10-30 a night less than the Bellagio depending on which tower you are in. Even in summer rates, Caesars charges $120+ a night even on weekdays. The Flamingo and Bally's won't be far behind.

Now, as to where we have our seminars, there's good news. I was actually going to announce this news during the week on our website, but I figured you guys get the news hot off the press. We just signed a wonderful agreement with the Pleasures Gentlemen's Club to where we will be having all our training held at from now on. It's one of the newer clubs in Vegas and is a rather medium-sized, higher class club. It's absolutely beautiful and they agreed to close the club down on Sunday afternoons so as we can actually conduct our training in an actual nightclub. It's wonderful news and we are extremely excited about this arrangement being that it is such a nice facility we can use exclusively. Their location is about two miles south off Las Vegas Blvd. and Tropicana. So if you are staying anywhere near the south end of the The Strip, you'll be fine and only a 5 minute cab ride to the club. The Tropicana hotel, Excalibur, Wild Wild West, Holiday Inn Boardwalk will all suit your needs just fine. Keep in mind that by going with the fridge/microwave idea, you'll probably be staying at a hotel far from the center of town, so to get anywhere, you'll be spending large sums of money on cab rides. Stay closer to the Strip or on the Strip for $10 a night more, and you'll probably get a fridge you can use and be closer to where the action is.

A great place to stay is Emerald Suites on Tropicana and Valley View. They are the newest suites in Vegas and have a full kitchen with stove and dishwasher, full sized refrigerator and microwave. They are one bedroom units and a laundry room and work out room is on premises.

Move in is about $309 the first week and $276 thereafter per week. It is close to Pleasures, maybe 3 miles away and all the main clubs are 3-5 miles max from here. The strip is within walking distance.

I highly recommend this place. Other dancers stay here too and not as much riff raff as the other suites in town.

Stay away from the Day's Inn that is behind Bally's. People have been getting their stuff ripped off while they are not in their rooms. Just fair warning!

Thanks for the "hot off the press" news DancerWealth. This new location makes everything ALOT easier for me now (accommodation and travel wise).

I'm still aiming for late July or anytime in August for the trip. Another reason is that 30 June is end of financial year here in Australia (tax time). I'll hopefully have my tax refund (or reduced tax bill) by then and really know how much I will have to 'play' with for the trip.

I'll also be running myself under an business/trust structure (refer to Master Strategy in Dollar Den folder).. so the trip will definately be deductible for me

Anyone got any opinions on Wild Wild West ??? It looks like a viable option for me as it won't be far from the DWT as well as 'the strip'. Since I'll be in Vegas for only 3 nights... I figured I would eat out (take away or actually eat somewhere) for those three nights.

The hotel is OK but it's a bit far out. Check out www.TravelWorm.com I have found really good deals and yes I have booked through them and all went well. It is a site to book hotel rooms and I found it had the cheapest deals of all sites I checked, including the hotels "own "sites. As I said before, I stay at Arizona Charlies now $28.oo a night and I noticed the site had from $15.oo a night. This is because not so many people go to Vegas in July and August as it's hot (40c +)

    Pleasures?

    LOL,

Yes a newer club and looks good on the inside somewhat but I have been there numerous times and have yet to see it busy and as for their continued success rate I just dont see it happening during day shift the girls there are well lets just say I dont think any other club in vegas or anywhere for that matter would hire them. Besides any club that has to resort to midget tossing/wrestling to try and bring in people has no clue on marketing or long term success.

I have managed quite a few clubs all over the country and this one has potential if the owners would ever get the right management team together

Personally I am actually considering buying a club called Thongs seems like a good location but the last few clubs there have never done well but hey what the hell why not give it a try.

And yes I am aware that this is somewhat offpost so here are with reasons of where you are staying my recommendations

I agree with Tina for what you are coming in for that is the best location with the best amenities for the price as for WWW and Tropicana....personally I would avoid them I dont think they are anywhere near a decent hotel, and the WWW is NOT close to pleasures at all.

Best of luck to you on your visit and you can check out these sites for vegas info

http://www.vegasbuffets.com/ info on all buffets in vegas

    http://www.unlv.edu/Tourism/lvbufffaq.html

    http://www.lasvegas-nv.com/buffets.htm

    http://www.1vacation.com/lasbuffets.html

    http://www.ratelasvegas.com/buffets/buffetrank.html

    http://www.vegastravelsite.com/LasVegas/buffet.html

Those should surely be enough on vegas buffets if that is how you are going to eat instead of regular dinners but depending upon the time the lines can be long I always wonder why someone would stand in line for over an hour for food but thats just my opinion.

Again good luck from someone that lives here in vegas actually fairly close to pleasures down past silverado ranch road and it is a very safe area not like staying that close to the strip or even anywhere north of tropicana

good luck and just remember the heat when you are coming it will be HOT!!

DO NOT stay at the Wild Wild West.

I had an out of town friend stay there for a few nights because the rooms were so cheap (20$ per night). He did it more for the experience and the property's location then the actual fact that it was ultra cheap. He normally stays on the strip and will spend about 80-100$ for a room.

I picked him up in my car at the WWW because we were supposed to do a night out on the town and I wanted to see what this cheapass place looked like. The room was filthy, and half of the lights did not work, including the ones in the bathroom. there were suspicious white stains that were on and around the edges of the bed which we were convinced were semen stains. The people in the neighboring rooms were always making noise doing the nasty. The property management allows drugdealers and crackwhores to stay on the property and solicit the room guests. (Locals note: no where else on Tropicana Ave. have I seen any property that allows this to go on). I felt so bad for my friend that I actually offered to let him stay at my place for free and sleep in my guest room rather than have to worry about him being mugged on the way to his room. He laughs about it now, but will never go back to the WWW again.

If your going to stay on Tropicana, put out a little bit more money and stay at the Budget Suites or the Emerald Suites.

What's the weather in Las Vegas like for the end of August ? I do realise it is summer (due to it being winter here)... so I was going to pack like I would for summer: bikinis, wraps, summer type of tops, etc.

BTW Thanks for the heads up in regards to the Wild Wild West. I'll look at other accommodation options.
