What do you think about mixing gold and silver jewelry together? Does it look matched or unmatched?
I think gold and silver jewelry clashes together. If I wear gold earrings, then I'll wear a gold necklace or gold bracelet with them, never silver.

I would never work without jewelry. My best customers are always the yuppies who are in their 20's and 30's. I don't do well with any other type of customer.
I'll have to try those rhinestone jewelry sites.

The only necklace I own that's nice is a black latex necklace I recieved as a gift from a customer. I never really thought about jewelry, but I promise I'll search my house high and low for something nice! I did use to wear some real saphire earings, but one of them broke, so I keep them in my jewelry box. Thanks for the tip!

I never do the rhinestones. To me they look extremely cheap. Real diamonds in the club - NEVER! I used to be a big fan of cubic zirconia a very long time ago before people really started wearing them as "imitation diamonds". I am a big silver person. I never ever wear gold... I just dont think it flatters me at all. Most of you ladies will know that diamonds cannot be placed in a silver setting. The only other option would be platinum. Cubic zirconia was always a good option with the silver I wear. Its is good for the clubs considering if you lose it, its not like losing a diamond. I would never walk out of the house with rhinestones on (just my opinion). I think cubic zirconia is played out, diamonds worth too much to wear all the time, and rhinestones look cheap. This is why I have switched to Austrian Crystal. A beautiful stone to say the least. Sorry I got so involved with this post. I wanted to study to become a jeweler (amoungst other things LOL) so Im a freak when it comes to this. So keep it classy & elegant... not cheap & tacky.

Well Pisces, have you though about white gold settings with silver? Only 18k up though, cause anything less looks dirtier. I wear a mix of white and yellow gold, all mine is real except for my initial necklace. And that is on it's way to becoming real. But i have to find the perfect sapphires for the settings. Austrian crystal is very pretty and in a good setting, can look better than some diamonds. But yes I think that every dancer should wear some "ice".

Yeah white gold is what I want to get for my future wedding ring (if I ever get married). I have a few things in white gold but I prefer to wear silver on a daily basis. Its casual. If Im going somewhere special or what not then Ill wear white gold. Yes Austrian Crystals are the BOMB! I love them. I agree you should always have "icing" on the cake at work.

I have a beautiful, simple rhinestone choker (or is it Swarovski?), that I wear and I get a lot of "You look like a Hollywood movie star from the 50's." But I have not noticed an increase in sales--probably because we get very few high class spending customers. But when those customers are there, I definitely get their attention. Especially if my hair is in a French twist. Overall, I made just as much wearing nothing at all. I have another choker that I love--leopard with rhinestones. It's so soft and feels so good against my skin. I seem to do better in that one, but the crystals catch on my hair, so I will have to start wearing it up when I wear that one.

On another note. I have some great rhinestone earrings that I have bought at Wal-mart. I also have a chocker and a braclet that I bought there. Another good place to look is at the mall in the small stores that sell just "costume" jewerly. Around prom time you can really find some great things for work.
