    Default newbie again...kinda

So some of you may find this kind of wierd. I just moved back home for the summer. I go to school an hour away for the rest of the year. I dance while I'm away at school. Now that I'm home I'm not sure if dancing would be a good idea while I live with my parents for the next few months. My mom knew about the dancing...however daddy does not, and if you've read my other post, I definitly don't want to set him off or give him anything else to bitch at me about.

Anyways....I decided I'm going to try waitressing at a club, just to see how that goes, and get ideas of clubs around here. What is the best way to go about getting this type of job? I'm really not sure. When I waitressed before I danced I went in because there was an ad in the newspaper. I almost feel kind of funny going in and asking for an app. Would you say day would be best time to go in? In my past experience you had to go in after 7pm.

Ok I'm gonna go get ready, I have a dr appt in an hour - damn pink eye (isn't that hot?) , if any of you have any input that would be great!

    Thanks!

In my experience, its best to go in when the hiring manager is there, most clubs will tell you when that is if you call. Good Luck!

I just went... I don't know why but I'm always so intimidated and feel like I'm going to be too ugly and they won't hire me. I have that insecurity about pretty much any kind of job I've ever had. Ahhh so I was walking in and some guys in the parking lot started hollering and asking me if I was late for my shift. That made me a little more confident. And then I went in and saw the dancers....I don't know how long I'd last as a waitress if hired. I just wanna go back to dancing! Perhaps I will, it's a 21+ club to get in so no one my age that I knew from school would really be there since I'm only 19. I think I could probably get away with dancing....grrr altho the waitresses got to wear these cute little outfits hehe.

Damn maybe I should go get my shoes out of storage next week...or get a new pair hehe...

I'm a little concerned that maybe I won't get the job, because the lady just said thank you and put it in a drawer - the app. But....she was really friendly and talked to me a little bit. (I do much better at getting guys to hire me for some reason...hmm...) I'll call them and ask about the hiring manager...good idea...

Should I just skip the waitressing thing and go back to dancing...I've been off for 2 weeks. grr I don't know what to do.

Hmmmm, the summer doesn't last long. I wouldn't bother rocking the boat for just a few months. There are so many things you could do with your summer -- enjoy yourself, meet new people, pick up extra classes. You can get a waitressing job ANYWHERE.

Then you'll feel refreshed going back to school and back to work when the fall comes and you're no longer living with your parents. Just my 2 cents.
