Default Question for the dancing Gurus

Should I think of a dance set or should I just improv? Ahh I dont know.

If any ladies could help me out, name some movies or books that I could read to make me feel a little more secure and sexy for my first time onstage.

I am just starting out. I went to a club the manager liked me asked if I wanted to dance that night! Ahhh.

I wasn't prepared, I was just going there to check out the club and consider if I would like working there.

    Thanks!!!

Improvisation is fine, as well as picking out your music ahead of time and dancing to it in your home, thinking up sexy moves, etc.
Watch other girls! Find out what looks good, 9 out of 10 times the move itself is nothing special, just knowing how to do it [especially for pole tricks!]. And no, no need to do pole tricks the first time you are there. Slow, sexy, big huge smile, thank the customers for their tip.

I haven't read either, but Art of Exotic Dancing and The S Factor are books about sexy dancing - highly recommended all over the place. can't say for movies.

Pick a few songs you like to dance to and practice at home in front of a mirror. But be prepared to dance to something unfamiliar, as the song(s) you want could be 'taken' by another dancer before you get there. Stage dancing is alot of ad libbing anyway, it's near impossible to choreograph an entire set if you're doing any interaction with the audience. Just go with the flow. No newbie dances like a pro, and customers like that!

I had the same question when I started, but I am not that into music. If you have a few songs you enjoy write them down or down load them. When you start working talk to the dj and see how other girls do it.

I don't really care about my music, there is just some shit I prefer not to have played.

You might be able to tell him to play a fast song then a slow one. But really you aren't moving to the music, you move way slower and you shouldn't be singing along so its better if you don't know whats coming.

sometimes the surprise song that your not familiar with will be the one to inspire you. I have had djs select songs for me in the past and i really never hated one of them. But it is good to pick out songs ahead of time, at least 20 to 30 so you have a wide variety to choose from and increase your chances of getting that song on your list. Be careful, choose wisely, be unique. No Britney spears, it drives us all crazy!

Going out on a limb, try to watch strip tease and dirty dancing. Believe it or not dirty dancing (the original) will teach you alot about moving your hips. Dancing with the hips will start you out being sexy. Most new girls try to club dance, however being sensual is more important in this line of business.
