    Default Rehiring now legal dancers?

We just had a girl at our club taken away because she was a runaway and was only 17. She'd been working with a fake ID. She was a good worker, however. The thing that surprised me is we're hiring her back when she turns 18! A few girls and the manager today were talking about getting a cake on the day, in about a month, that we can legally have her in the club again.

Has anyone else had this happen? I dunno, I would've thought they'd be annoyed she risked their business license with being underage. *shrug*

oh wow.. i have never heard of this. Its crazy to think girls at my club may be underage!

however, i have talked to other dancers that said they have been dancing since 15.. etc. I guess a fake id?

I will never forget when a girl I worked with for a few monthswho was quite intelligent and mature and by the way looked at least 24 parents came in the club lookinfg for her.I was doing a dance in the back and I saw what looked like a mother andather walk in.I didnt know whatthey were doing but later found out they were there fo that girl and she was only 17.They threatened to sue.I was quite surprised I never would have thought this girl was not at least 24.

I've heard of lots of girls saying they started dancing before 18. It wouldn't suprise me there are lots of underaged girls working out there. The only reason we find out about them is because somene rats them out.

Luna, a lot of this has to do with the area the club is located in. Upstate NY clubs are usually thrilled when they can find a beautiful new dancer who actually shows up on time, knows how to work and earn money for the club, and doesn't cause a lot of drama.

As far as the underage thing, the club wasn't subjected to any risk because it was the dancer who provided the fake ID. Had the club knowingly hired an underage dancer, though, it would have been a different story.

I used to know a guy who danced a little bit when he was 17...

I am not surprized at all that they are hiring her back.... she made money, her only downfall was her age, fix that, no problem.....

I danced when I was very young. I had a fake ID but was honest about my age, and most of the clubs didn't have a problem with it.

I think everyone deserves a second chance. Who knows what kind of situation they were in. But to think of a dancer underage dancing is still creapy!!

Oh my gosh... this club i used to work at got raided and they checked IDs and they found that one of the dancers was only 14 years old. I wasn't there when the raid took place, but that girl looked at least 20! Nobody knew her true age, but she was arrested and taken away. We never saw her again. I think that is so gross.
