Now that Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia have recently joined the EU, it occurs to me that there might be some interesting opportunity in clubs there. Does anybody have any experience with clubs in Vilnius, Riga or Tallinn ?

Hey Mel,
Sorry to correct, but the Balkans are the countries of former Yugoslavia. Lith, Lat, and Es are the Baltics. I would seriously doubt it would be lucrative to be a stripper in Kosovo these days, hehehehehe
Some of the dancer agencies are booking to Tallinn, from what I've read.
The only problem is that these countries still have relatively weak economies. I would bet that foreigners on business and vacation will contribute the most to strip clubs. Plus, there is lots of cheap prostitution around and there is no shortage of attractive women who need cash in these places as well.
I wouldn't race there yet, my $.002

I was reading a report fromn a promising agency a while back (maybe a month or so). The agency has two agents, both dancers themselves, and an agent hits the potential club personally to work a few shifts and assess earnings and living conditions. Nice set-up, eh wot? But I digress. The report I read was one of the agent's trip to a town in Romania (perhaps not what you wanted, but...). She said the club itself was beautiful, and the club-provided accomodations were very nice indeed, but the hours were not set (she worked until they said she could leave) and there were almost no customers. Her assessment was that the local customers were not yet prepared for American-style strip clubs and that such places would be best utilized for a free stay if you wanted a nice vacation, but not for money to take home.
