I dropped this topic on another forum so please forgive the cross post. I'm really curious and may consider trying out an idea. Is there any interest in using "custom" music? Like, if there were a web site that provided downloadable original music that a dancer could use to make up custom sets. Something that worked similar to iTunes store. Could this be of any interest? Or is the music's familiarity a significant factor? In the old days (50 years ago or more) this is how it was done in the clubs. Dancers worked with original arrangements played by a house band. The music was contemporary, fresh and new. This provided a welcome contrast to the "other" entertainment which consisted of "covers" of popular songs.
What do you think?
Thanks;
