    Default Male dancers...

Hello, it's great to find a resource like this on the web. As this is my first post on the board, I suppose that I should go ahead and introduce myself, with a brief bio. I live in Louisiana, am 21, and have been dancing for all of 3 nights... spread out over 2 weeks. Oh, before I forget, I'm a guy.

Obviously, this is a girl's board. However, I'm hoping that your insight will help me better myself. Currently, I've got an agency that books me around to different clubs in LA - such as Oz on Bourbon Street in New Orleans (which is coming up this weekend!).

I'm expected to basically walk around and dance in whatever I feel comfortable in - not totally nude, though. I've chosen white boxer-briefs from A&F. So far, I'm doing much better than I had expected. I suppose that each time brings something new with it, as I'm quickly learning the gay scene's terminology (I'm straight, by the way... though I can "fag out" with the best of them...). Basically, I'm walking around on top of the bar, walking in the crowd, or dancing on a box. I really could use some tips and strategies to maximize tips, if none of you are busy doing other things. Perhaps also some online resources that I could check out, as my search results for anything regarding male dancing isn't coming back with anything other than porn sites.

I suppose I should post more, but I really don't want to bore anyone, and I'm drawing a blank. Help is appreciated.

Hey there...welcome to the board!! The only suggestion for money making that I have for you is to just smile and have a great time!! If you look like you are trying to make money, it will turn people off...they'll feel more like an ATM than someone just out for a great time! Never do anything that you do not feel comfortable doing (it'll show). And, if someone buys a dance, don't leave unless you are sure that they are not interested in another dance...and if they are not interested in another dance...don't stick around for free.

    Good luck!!

Welcome aboard Bishop! And you're not alone, there are at least two other male dancers on this forum, which I'm sure Chad will ring in sometime eventually.

I think what you're doing is great.. and I'd never have the balls to do such a thing (not literally, but rhetorically speaking *cough*).

Honestly, you'll likely find some absolutely wonderful tips here for very wide market money making tips, ways to improve your earnings and approach. The basic concept is the same- you're selling yourself as in your charm, your look and your appeal. The community here is like no other.

Welcome again and I sure we'll enjoy your perspectives here as well.
It doesn't matter if you're somebody in this world, it rather matters you mean the whole world to somebody.

    Welcome Bishop

One suggestion I have is communicate sex appeal with your eyes...give those stares that would turn anyone into putty. This works while dancing and talking. Have lots of fun and make money

    Confidence! Confidence! Confidence!

Its the most important thing you can wear

Wether you have it or you fake, everyone else needs to see it and beleive it. Look at a customer like it never dawned on you that they might not want you, whatever the price. No matter how bad of a night you are having, you need to be able to project how much you beleive in yourself and your sex appeal.

You'll notice that the person making the most consistently good money is the one who never *seems* to doubt themselves. And you'll find that if you let something get under your skin it will affect your money. So on the floor: Always, always, always project confidence in yourself.

And welcome to the board! Male or female, there is a lot to learn from the girls here. I just started coming here a month or two ago and I have learned so many things that 5 years of dancing never taugt me (or read things that I wish I hadn't had to learn the hard way). The biggest thing I have learned is that all of the experiences I sometimes thought I was the only one having... I wasn't. So turn to these girls for help - someone here will have been through anything you come up against, and they will be there for you.
If you can't get rid of the skeleton in your closet, you'd best teach it to dance.

Hey Bishop, welcome. Congrats on the career move. You are wise to dance for a male audience, as the money is better in a gay bar than in bar with a female clientele.

You might try browsing through Hustle Hut and get money making advice there. Much of the techniques and sales style will apply to you as you are dancing for men just like us girls. I am one of those weird dancers who also really likes to dance for women, but I do work in "gentlemen's" clubs.

Anyhow if you want to share at any time, feel free. This is a friendly forum, and we ignore the bad apples for the most part.

    XOXO Paris Love

Well, the time has come and gone by around a week. I made 500 bucks total. Horrible for a girl, perhaps not so bad for a guy. One thing I'm not too proud of - a drunk guy pulled out his pockets on the bar below me, and left a 20 up that he forgot about (he tipped 5)... I purposely stepped on the 20 and left me foot there, dancing, until he left. :sigh:

Like we all haven't done that before!
Also, if a guy tips you and then later says he gave you the wrong bill, smile say "That sucks" and walk off. hehe
sorry I had a bad night tonight...
anyhoo...hey Paris, I'm a wierd girl too I guess, because I would rather dance for women than men! LOL

    Hey Bishop

Even though it is perdominantly a womens board, I have got so much good advice and ideas and tips that I have stuck around for a while. As femal stripping is so much more different than male stripping, it's not always easy to advise the girls back on stripping stuff, but I try and help out in other ways, and areas, like music and stuff. So if you hang here a while, you'll find it productive and mutually beneficial too I think.

As has already been mentioned, confidence is the key, and this comes with more experience. The best advice I could give to a newbie male stripper (and actually, I have written a "How to" that I am trying to get published so I really have lots of advice ) is to develop a stripping persona that you can step in and out of whenever you get a gig. This will give you licence to get out areally make some bucks without being self conscious.

Finally, be careful about using terms like "fag out". If you are in a smaller venue and they know you're straight and hear you using "their" language to describe themselves they may take it as a put down. I personally think it is bad taste to disclose that you are straight if you are hired for a gay gig. When I am doing my hen shows, I am a pussy chasing boob fiend, and when I do the gay shows I am a butt drilling cock sucker. Bottom line: I am a performer, and am the fantasy of who I do my shows for. This is what has made me successful I think.

Good luck man and pm me if you want.
