Can You Help?
I have posted this message in another place already, sorry for that. IS JUST, I’m not getting any replies and I know a lot of you travel and have the experience already.
I’m not new to dance just to travel here in America, as I have got married here and will live here. I have taken 2 years off of dancing, so I can finish my school and now I’m ready to go back, but now I have not any contact with any another dancer, so I’m so happy to find this site!!
Anyway my question was when do you mean accommodations, are you normally staying at some Hotels? Or Apartments? Of coarse I do NOT want the specific ones that you are staying (don’t want to make anybody uncomfortable or insecure), but I just don’t know what may be the cheapest for me and still Safe. I do a research my self on the web, but I still need help. I know example how it works in Spain, but here??
Please help. Thanks so much.

Re:Can You Help?
Generally speaking, if you're travelling to different US clubs a week at a time by car, you can make the effort to find an affordable "extended stay" hotel somewhere near the club. I'm talking about outfits like Extended Stay America, or Holiday Inn Express, or similar chains which offer not only a bed and a bathroom but also a kitchenette. Staying at these outfits allow you to buy and prepare regular food, to do your own laundry etc. which will greatly reduce your expenses. These outfits are probably not located within walking distance of the club though, but since you're travelling with your own car it doesn't matter. In the way of reducing expenses, some of these outfits offer discount/perk programs (such as Holiday Inn Priority Club) which can maybe save a few extra dollars.
If you're travelling to different US clubs by air, then you have the distance/transportation cost issue to consider. I usually look to stay at a hotel within easy walking distance of the club such that I can avoid taxi or rental car costs, even though the rates at a nearby hotel may be a bit higher and even though the nearby hotel may not offer a kitchenette such that I wind up spending more on restaurant food. To minimize the cost of staying at a nearby hotel, I usually research club and hotel locations on the internet. I then call the hotel, ask to speak to the manager, and try to arrange a "weekly rate" which is lower than the normal "daily rate".
The only time I have considered renting an apartment was when I was planning on regularly working in the same city for several months straight. It's extremely difficult to find decent, safe apartments in large US cities without having to commit to at least a 6 month lease agreement with the landlord. Unless you can come to some sort of special arrangement, if you're planning on working in the same city for less than 3 months with somewhat regular trips back home it will definitely be cheaper to go the hotel route (versus having to pay 6 months apartment rent even though you only plan on staying 3 out of 4 weeks for 3 months).
Occasionally some US clubs have apartments available for short term use by travelling dancers. This is a question that I always ask when making advance arrangements with clubowners, and I take advantage of it whenever possible.
