    Default Fell off my diet!!!!

    OMGoodness!

I was doing sooo great and eating good and working out regularly.

But recently I started to fall off my rountine and stop getting up in the mornings to do my cardio and going again at night.

As for my diet I ran out of my good foods and protein shakes and pills that I just started to eat junk again.

Well I noticed I gained a few pounds and I know DL had talked about this but her problem is different from mine.

I wanted to start in July but looking more like August so I was wonderign is it possiable to lose about 30-35 pounds if I start today?

I just need help staying foucs is all.

I don't really diet, so it's hard for me to say if you'll lose those pounds by the time you want to. often though we think we're fatter than we really are, too. but this is hopeful....my mom recently started weight watchers and lost 6.5 lbs in one week. you do the math.....it really won't be hard to reach your goal. as for working out, post pix of your "beauty idols" up around the house (and on the fridge LOL) and hopefully they will motivate you to stay in shape.

If its possible in your area, ride a bike everywhere you go, even to the grocery store! You can get a basket put on the back of the bicycle......

    Its extra cardio!!

    Great Idea!

I do have a bike that thought never crossed my mind wow you guys are awesome! I am going to start doing that.

I do roller blade on the weekends when its nice out. I do post tons of photos of women I want to look like and I even put them on my fridge so everytime I open it up I make sure I really want that fudge cake lol!

I lost 15 lbs the first month I started dancing (again)...that's off an already underweight frame. So you can probably start within 10 lbs or so of your goal and expect the rest to disappear on its own. (I know the urge is to start when you look 'perfect', but c'mon, there'll always be something...)

Beisdes that, diet and weight training will get you there the fastest. Work your upper arms hard with weights- you'll see results pretty quickly, and also have the strength you'll need for pole stuff.

I don't normally condone it, but if you really want to lose this weight fast, do Atkins. Do it by the book, including the ketosis stage etc..., and then go on a low glycemic load maintenence plan.

It's all about lifestyle change.. you can't look at it as a short term fix- you have to realize that you are making permanent changes in your diet, and that they will benefit you in myriad ways, not just weight loss.

    honeygymgirl ,
It sounds like you have a problem with disciplining yourself.
I am not saying your bad or anything, but lose track of your goal along the way.
To remind yourself of your goal, consider this.
Go to target and buy a $20 bath scale and a $2 pack of graph paper and a $0.49 ruler.
On the left put where you are and on the right where you want to be. Draw a line 3 or 5 lbs above where you are to 3-6 above where you want to be. Same 3-5 less.
Chart your progress every day and stay in the zone.

Noone expects you to be perfect except you. Think of it as little progresses, not the total change. See yourself making progress.

This is from a bozo who has never been on a serious diet in his life. I do believe in giving yourself feedback though.

I would never recommend doing this. You become so obsessed with what the scale says...the scale will only tell you how much you weigh...and it's very rarely right. You have to account for water retention a few times per month...you have to account for the times that you ate a bit more salt...I tried this for a while, and it became a nightmare.

Who cares if you fell off your "diet"? It doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is that you pick up from where you left off and just keep going. Stop worrying about how much you need to lose and how much time you have to do it. It's just your way to put off dancing.

The second problem is that you keep referring to your eating healthy as a "diet". Start thinking of it as a healthy way of life. Choose this for yourself everyday. You want some sweets? That's fine. Just tell yourself that you will eat those sweets on X day. Get up in the morning and GO to the gym...once you get there, you'll be fine. You may also have been working yourself out TOO much...and may just be feeling the effects of your body "wearing out". Change your routine...your body needs that anyways.

Honey...STOP obesessing about what you have to lose...by when...just be healthy!! And, you're dancing in July. End of story.

I don't have a problem with disciple what so ever. That was the first time I had cheated in a very long time and didn't hit the gym twice a day like I usually do.

I am humen and will make many mistakes. I just was venting and wanted some support. Dieting and fitness is very hard and takes alot of hard work which I have put in. It's a lifestyle not an overnight success!

I actually did what you suggested and Venus is right I got so caught up with that stupid chart that I just stopped doing it and now go off my measurements and how my clothes fit! But thanks for your input!

it all depends on how old you are and if you've had children. sometimes lipo is the answer.

That's the most moronic thing I've ever heard! I know girls who got lipo and blew up to more than what they were to begin with. It's not permanent by any means.

I have a child, and I look as good, if not better, now than I did before.

It's all about habits. You have good eating habits and work out, you'll be fine. Everything else is just a quick-fix with short-term results.

    Thank you soo much Venus!

I am 23 yrs old and was thinking of doing lipo I went to see a doctor and he laughed at me saying he would be robbing me of money that i can lose the weight naturally but if i wanted the surgry still then he would do it but i took that as a postive sign and my wallet loves me lol!

I am not perfect nor will I ever be but I am learning and that is half the fun right!

If you have the money to do lipo, then invest in some workout clothes and a personal trainer. If you have some money after that, put it towards your new wardrobe.

Honeygirl...I think you are fine. Just keep doing what you're doing. And, it's ok to take a little break here and there...your body needs it. Just make sure you get back in the groove!!

I agree with Venus 100%! If you have anywhere near enough for lipo, use it for a trainer and nutritionist instead! You'll learn lifelong habits that will keep the weight from ever coming back, rather than lipo's temporary fix. A much more worthwhile investment if you ask me!

I so agree with Venus with this one. I toned body that comes from working out is just not something you can get with lipo. Personaly I think liposcution is kind of a waste of money.
