    Default Sunless Tan Problem

I used this cheapie Banana Boat sunless tanner. I applied it twice, and was very happy with the results. It was very even. However, I am totally unhappy with how it chose to come off. Wherever my skin rubbed together, such as under my arms and inner thighs, there are huge white sploches. And it chose to come off quicker in some areas than others. It is splochy and uneven. Has anyone had this problem, and what did you do?

Yep, that's what happens with sunless tanner. Even the best ones!

Mine always comes off first in my pubic area, making me look like I have vitiligo of the crotch...very attractive. I find the best way to minimize patchiness is to:

    Wax everything before you apply
    Exfoliate everything before you apply
    Re-apply every 2 days

When you have a few days in a row off, make sure that your last application was a few days before, and exfoliate every day all over until the night before you're back to work. Then repeat the whole process.

It's a pain in the kisser, but you'll thank yourself when you're 40 and everyone thinks you're 30!

I use neutrogenia self tanner lotion and I had the same problem. PLUS I always smelled like that stink that self tanner has..SOOO I started mixing self tanner with my cocoa butter body lotion I got in a big bottle a Walmart and put it on everytime I take a shower..I put my lotion and squirt tanner into my palm and mix it together..I use the medium to dark..I don't really have a science..just the mix seems to work..It keeps your color..you won't smell..It seem's to come out nice and even all over. Once a week I DO..take time out to do an all over self tan (with gloves) without the lotion mixed. I don't know..I just got sick of thinking I had to put this tanner on 24/7 so now when I moisturize which (I have to do anyways) my bod... I'm tanning too..lol

    Hope this helps.

Hi ladies! I'm glad the topic was brought up. Only, how does one reach one's back? I used to have this paddle thing, with a spongy end but... my bunny gnawed it. I've used & liked Clarins, it's expensive. I read a good review on the spray on version to reach the back. Have a good day all

Thanks, Em! By the way, I found under the sink, a spray on self tanner Sav-on/Osco, by Albertson's, I bought last yr. at Jewel/Osco. It was on clearance. It says on label comparable to Neutrogena ingredients. I used it once, liked it so far...
