    Default HELP body changes

I'm hoping that some of you that have experienced this can offer some advice.

My body is changing and I'm having a hard time excepting it. Besides puberty I've heard that womens bodies change at about 19 and again at around 27. I've already experienced the 19 year change; this is when my hips broadend a bit more and my buttox developed. I'm now 27; had my daughter at 25. I gained about 80 lbs during my pregnancy and lost it within 3-4 months. Let me explain the changes I've noticed; sorry for the previous ramble i thought backround info was important.

I've noticed that my clothes still fit, but they fit differently, they feel different. I don't have the same control over my body(the shape and size) that i used to. I'm not as active as i used to be due to present circumstanses, I'm sure this is part of it. This has been one of the hardest things i've had to learn to except. I've started to feel ashamed of my body; i hvent felt this way since puberty. I think gravity has kicked in.

I'm sorry for rambleing, I'm really looking for advice from other women who have been here, experienced the same thing.
    Thanks

    Hi Alexis,

It could be that you are the same size thin, but not toned as much anymore. I would pump some iron!

    Good luck hun!

I totally agree with Pamela. My daughter is about 21 months old, so I totally understand what you mean about time! I still manage to go to the gym every morning and do cardio/weights. It's just something you need to do for yourself. After I had my baby, I still fit in my clothes, but I was a lot less toned.

If you cannot go to a gym, then do lots of walking/biking and do isometrics (push ups, crunches, etc). It'll help you tone up. And, watch your diet.

Your body changes, but you don't have to accept flabby and out of shape.

Girl, you just described me, lol! I had my daughter at 24, gained 60+ pounds, and just sat around after she was born wondering why I didn't have a good body anymore.

Start working out, and you CAN and WILL get it back. You can't honestly say yet that your body will never be the same, you admitted yourself that you aren't working out. Yes, you might have lost the baby weight, but you probably lost a lot of muscle during pregnancy and afterwards.

Your body is only as good as you are to IT! Hit the gym, start pumping weights, get on a good cardio routine, and eat as healthy as you can. I was in your shoes for nearly a year after childbirth, but now I'm in the best shape of my life!

    Good luck!

I think you're all right about the exercise. I don't dedicate nearly enough time to it. I guess i need to incorperate exercise with play time with my daughter. Or somthing like that. You guys are right about the toning to. Have any of you noticed after a certain age that you deposit fat differently? Is this part of the 27 year body change?

Also, I do have a personal trainer I keep in contact with; we don't work closely together on a regular basis, but she's been helpful. I think I need to schedule my workouts here at home, I'll be more likely to do them if there at specific times.

    Thanks for the responses .

I'm glad you posted. I haven't had a child, but since I got to my mid-twenties, it's been harder to lose weight. I've been trying to work out, but it's hard when you jog or run and you don't want to mess up your knees because of dancing I do have good news though- a few years back I put on some weight because I was with a boyfriend with horrible health habits (no fruits or vegetables, no exercise) so when I broke up with him, I got a gym membership and my new pet cause was getting skinny. It worked! So it's a matter of getting back to those good points.....

    Alexis:

I was stick thin until age 28.. after I had my daughter, I was back in my size 3 jeans four days later... yep, you got that right.. four days and I was back to normal size... stayed firm and tone until I was 28 then I gained 25 pounds.. and I did nothing differently... my doctor told me that hormones were to blame... apparently, your body does begin to change when you hit close to 30 or thereabouts.. you can have hormonal flucuations that go a bit unnoticed.. me, I was beginning to go into a pre-menopausal state (I have always had problems with the monthly visitor) and then once my doctor was able to pin point the problem I lost about 15 of those 25 pounds... but, I am happier with a little more meat on my bones so I don't complain...

hit the gym, but get your hormone levels checked too.

I know that part of this is acceptance, and that it's rooted in a much deeper issue that i'm afraid to face. Thats another subject.

Anyway, thanks for that suggestion Gynger, i have an appt with my Dr. on Thur. I'll bring this up to him (the hormone thing) and see what he thinks. OMG, I've been recieving other clues from my body that my hormones may be off, didn't make the body shape connection until now. Thank You Gynger for suggesting this. The changes mostly happened after i had my daughter.
