    Default Liposuction

So, I'm have my boobs done in January, and I'm thinking about also doing lipo on my lower stomache and a little on my inner thighs. I'm tiny, only 5'0 but I'm like, 10lbs. heavier than I want to be, and no matter how much I work out, I CAN'T get my lower abs flat!
Anyone in here have lipo? I mean, I've researched it, but I would love to hear from someone real, as opposed to a Dr.'s "testimonial" page. lol ??? ???
Please, let me know what you think!

First of all...I am totally against lipo. I have known several girls (who were like you) and got lipo. Within months, they ended up bloating to be bigger than they were before the lipo. Not fun.

If you want to lose the last "10 pounds", then you NEED to absolutely watch what you are eating. Since it's your abdomen that is giving you the headache, that kinda tells me that you are probably eating too much "refined" carbs (white sugars, flours, etc). Cut back on those. Do more cardio...make sure that you are eating at least 5-6 times per day (3 meals and 2-3 mid-meals). Get enough fruit and veggies in your diet...drink plenty of water. I would suggest anyone who has enough money to get lipo should invest it in a personal trainer and certified nutrionist. Those two things have longer lasting results.

Really? ok.. that's interesting.. Everywhere I read it says that it is HARDER to gain back the weight after lipo b/c the fat cells are removed. That's good to know though.
As for the diet tips, thanks!! I know I eat too many carbs, I'm a carb JUNKIE! lol
I guess I'm going to have to cut them out. dam!!

I agree with VenusGoddess, but remember she said cut out refined carbs, not carbs in general. Whole wheat is excellent nutrition.

    Hi Paige-
I'm actually with you on this one. I would at least check out the lipo. I want it myself. I have that lower-ab problem too. When I was at my skinniest, a size 3, I still had it, and I'm ordinarily a size 9. So now I know mine will NEVER go away. Let me know what you decide & if it works out for you.

I can understand where you're coming from, ODP, but, that doesn't mean lipo's for her. She should at least give diet and exercise a shot before she commits to any drastic decision as such.

They say that it's harder to gain back what was taken through lipo. But, here's the thing. Just because you get lipo does not mean that you've changed your eating habits that contributed to the reason why you got lipo to begin with. So, what's going to change after you get lipo? You may be "smaller" for a little while...but, if you do not learn how to eat and exercise properly, you'll gain it all back...and then some.

If you have a "gut" of any kind, it's because your diet is wrong. You are eating too many starches, sugars, refined carbs (white flour, etc), and just plain junk food. If you put fatty stuff into your body...how do you expect to be lean?

Yes, Meghan was right. Refined carbs are a no-no...but, whole grain/whole wheat is ok (but, still keep it to a minimum).

lipo works best for people who are at a good weight, but have problem areas that won't go away no matter how thin they are. When I was a size 0/2, I still had a little bit of that saddlebag look (thanks mom) , so I had it done and was thrilled with the results. Even if I gain weight, my legs are still the same SHAPE. Just think of lipo as sculpting and not weight loss.

I have had liposuction on my stomach and hips and i was always small. i'm a 0 and i always was. My clothes fit me better. i like lipo. And yes I have always been a healthy eater. All I eat is organic vegatbles and meat. I don't eat white bread only wheat and yeast free. I shop at Whole Foods every week. So lipo has payed off for me. I like my body so much better, I don't have lovehandles. I'm not into adding weight just loosing it.

Any doctor you consult about liposculpture will tell you to try to exercise first and change your diet, and if all else fails he will do surgery. But you have to have great eating habits afterwards, or you will be back in the same "rut."

This pretty much sums up what everyone else says.

But there are also cases where women eat a-1 and still have an excess of a couple pounds in "problem areas." This is what lipo can help.

This was exactly my problem. I had a "pouch" from childbirth that just wouldn't go away no matter how much I worked out or dieted. I had lipo several years ago and the "pouch" has never returned, even though I have gained a few pounds in other areas.

In regard to lipo making it "harder" to gain back any weight lost, this isn't true at all. But what does happen is that you won't gain as much weight in the areas that were lipo'd, and you'll gain more weight in other areas.

If I could afford lipo then I would definetely go. But I agree with VenusG that if you have the money for lipo, get a personal trainer. It will make yourself proud that YOU did it.

Actually liposuction is meant for men and women with bulges of fat,(upper/lower tummy, legs, knees, chin, butt) and is a good thing. I know personal trainers who have had the sugery. It's no worse than fake tits, really. iI like liposuction and i have never had to get a sugery again. You ahve to go to a good doctor. See if they are board certified. Because if you eat healty and then get the personal trainer after the lipo you will have a a dope body. People can work out thier entire lives and never work off fat. That's what my doctor told me. Try excersizing first and if you still don't like the fat then go to a professional, lipo is a good thing. I wish more girls at my club would. When you reach your mid twenties to early thirties is when and where the fat will hang. I will get lipo until they invent something that is better.

I recently spent $1000 on personal training and diet supplements to see if this one last big push could get rid of those love handles (like what guys get, ugh ). I lost a lot of fat, and my muscles look really great. I even have some veins popping on my arms and lower abs, and that tells me that I went too far. However, I still have those stupid love handles :'(.

So off to the doc I go! I did all I could naturally, and that is when a person should seek out an alternitive, if it is that important to him/her. It is to me, and being a dancer I am more self concious than if I wore clothes all the time.

So many people think lipo is for weight loss, and it is not. When I tell non dancers that I am considering lipo, I get sneers and comments like "you're too thin already."

The only thing that is holding me back is I can tell if someone has had lipo done by their skin texture. Sort of like you can see when a girl has gotten boobs. Can't explain it, just that I can tell. I don't want to be obvious. Maybe adding in endermologie will help. I guess I'll see soon enough.

no you can't tell if people had liponif they went to a good doctor. there are no scares. its a beautiful fast sugery. the lovehandles only went away by the help of my surgeon, who i love. i'm going back to him in two weeks to get a bit more fat taken off my bra buldge and upper back, i'm not fat all either. i'm 5'1 105 pounds, but i'm almost 29 (no kids) and i want to get rid of that unwanted fat. lipo is positive. don't believe the hype. when people say you shouldn't get lipo the are PLAYER HATING on you. people do it to me all the time. i look better than most 22 year olds because i take care of myself. i eat right and do cardio and yoga. You have to THINK thin to be thin. It's all in YOUR MIND.

Not my exact words, but yeah, I think people get liposuction for many different personal reasons, like any bit of plastic surgery. We're all adults and can make our own decisions. All of the comments here have been great and has made me decide I'm going to get a personal trainer before I seriously consider liposuction. BUT the original post was asking about specific information from girls that got it done. So come on, ladies! Share!

I personally have a lot of questions on this procedure. I know I can find the basic cost of it, but what if you want multiple parts of your body done in the same visit? (This is more of sheer curiosity for me because I only want the back/outside of my thighs done, but I am still curious.) I'm also wondering how long it is generally before you return to work. I know there's a lot of swelling.... would working too soon make the swelling worse? What's everyone's story?? Has it been worth it? Have you gotten other plastic surgery done that was a better choice??

As always any information is appriciated!

    Thanks!

I'm getting lipo on my inner thighs in August. That's me in my avatar and I'm far from fat. Again, although I do yoga and cardio and eat a generally healthful and balanced diet, the pouches on my upper thighs will not budge.

I have seen work by the doctor I'm going to on several co-workers and a few of them came back to work in a week, but I would not advise that. One wore stockings to cover the bruises on her legs another tried dermablend to cover the bruising on her stomach. The stomach was harder to hide because the swelling and fluid made the skin uneven and ripply at first. You could go back to work after a week, but you'll be in pain and might risk messing up the results. Take 3-4 weeks off, especially if you work in a lapdancing club (all the movement during the shift).

Everyone that I've met that has admitted to it looks great. And none have gained more weight. The key is to maintain good habits. If you load up on junk and get lazy with the assumption that you can suck it out again, you're screwed.

You CAN get multiple parts done, but any reputable doctor will advise against sucking out too much fat. Again, it's meant for contouring, not weight loss. One girl I worked with did pretty much her entire lower body and abs, removing about 10 lbs total. That's pretty much the healthy maximum. More than that and you could go into shock.

As for ab lipo, of the 3 girls I know who had it there, 2 had muscular abs that were obscured by a little fat pouch. You could feel the abs through the fat and once the little bit was sucked out you could see some nice definition there.
