    Default *sigh*

I am getting ready for work as I type this, but there is something that is REALLY bothering me and I need advice. I thought this would be a good place to ask as I could get an opinion from everyone.

    Long story short....

It has been 13 months since new laws have hit our town, and everyone is feeling the pinch. I work at the last club in Rapid City and it is really a sad start of affairs. I lost literally 80% of my income and I am struggling to make ends meet. I refuse to let the city take my job and looking for other work is not an option.

To this DAY customers and dancers still bitch about the laws, and I am pretty guilty of the same every now and then. I had a total break down last week and it finally clicked. If I don't want the cuty to take my job, get it in gear and work on making living, not moping about it.

My problem is, I am making really good money as of late. There has not been a night where I have left with less than $100. (For SD that is GOOD.) The other dancers however, are not liking that I am doing well. Last night, one of them wished that I was scheduled like a road girl because they never make money when I am there. They ALL pretty much came down on me and I don't know how to take it.

That is all I have time to type out, but you get the jist and feel free to ask questions for me to elaborate so I may get some assistance.

    Thank you all.

    :'(

Hun screw what they think. There will always be girls who bitch about the ones who make money.
Just take it as a compliment, unless they are being snotty.

Its none of their business if your doing your job right.
Smile and make that money. Better to be making lots of money, than none at all. Remember you're there to make money, not pals.

Awww, you like Mickey, too? I'm going to Disneyland next week! Anyhow, take Lexi's advice and make your money. As long as it's only verbal and not physical abuse from these girls.

THEY don't make money when YOU work? That's ridiculous! How the hell do you do it?? I mean, share your secret on how you're able to dance for every customer with money all at the same time, every night!

How do they do when you're not there? Who do they blame their poor income on then?

    Thanks guys, I feel better.

One way the know, is that our couch dances are kept track of by the DJ and doorman as we get a chip for each dance. When the night is over, the DJ will ask each of us in the dressing room how many chips we have...so that is one way. The other way is that the dancers are watching me like a hawk. They see what I walk of the stage with. I have no idea what their income is like when I am not there. I do not ask anyone other than to say "did you have a good night last night?" It is none of my business as I do not discuss my earrings with anyone as it is.

I went in tonight, and just did my own thing, was I think, overly pleasant to all of them and it was a pretty decent evening.

Exotica, the mouse is my god and savior. I have been to DW 2 in in the last 2 years and it is a GREAT time.

Thanks again, I love having a place where others understand and can share thoughts and ideas with each other. Your posts really did make me smile.

Don't feel bad, babe, there are always going to be girls that think "If only x number of girls, or x girl, wasn't working, I'd be making tons!" but that's rarely the case. Sometimes you just have "it" and sometimes you don't, and sometimes it is something you yourself can improve - and sometimes it is just that there are 20 girls working and only 10 customers - maaaybe 5-8 girls are going to sell dances that night.

My DJ was saying the other night "I'm gonna be glad when xgirl goes away in a few weeks, not because I don't like, but it'll free up a lot of money in the club." Stooopid. The reason that girl banks is she has regulars and hustles, likely as not those regulars will follow her and the girls who hustle will pick up a little slack.
    "I still have my name
    I still have my face
I have not run away from home
    Doesn't seem so long
    If I now embrace
Every single thing I've never known"

I'm sure that the other dancers that you work with are in exactly the same situation. When a situation gets desparate, people start to do desparate things. I agree with the other posters that you shouldn't let other girls' opinions affect you, but please watch your back !

Sounds to me like they are sitting around complaining about not making money...and never doing any dances. Let's face it, if they are keeping track of YOUR dances, then they aren't doing any of their own. I'll bet that they don't make any money on the nights you don't work, either.

Don't let it bother you. Just ignore them and keep working. Thank them for their laziness, because without it, you wouldn't be making the money that you are making.

    Good luck!

    Greetings Fantasia.
I would like to tell you a story. Its the short version. Its not ment to piss anyone off or freak you out.Im sure your not to the degree as this story goes to,but it may open your eyes just a little as to what you may be dealing with.
    First,advice.
Leave town, now.Aim at one of the zillions of gentlemens clubs that make more then 100 dollars a night.I know many might label this as being greedy, but i dont agree. If you have the talent and looks that rattle other girls cages, you DONT have to settle for the laws being passed there,or the nights where you make 100 dollars.you dont gotta deal with the drama or bullshit(end of sermon on getting whats deserved to you)
    anyways,now the story.
I open clubs for people. We purchase clubs, then go in and revamp them.We keep some of the girls that were there before and we fly in a few from other clubs for a few months to get things rolling. The story is about 1 club.
It had about 8-10 girls when we took over. They were not bad,but they were not vegas or new york material. We brought in about the same number of girls from around the country as "ringers"until we could expand the staff of house girls from the local areas clubs, 3 collages and cities etc.
At the end of the first month we had the staff at about 75 so the ringers basically went back to their home clubs. We had all the best dancers from all the surrounding clubs,we had beautiful newbies from the area.Things were going great!
Over the next few weeks, they were all gone.(except the original 8-10 that were there before)
Girls things would be stolen from the dressing room.Lockers would be gone thru and everything would be trashed or covered in BBQ sauce. It got to the point where at least 3 girls had to be in the dresssing room at the same time, even that didnt stop it.We had to ban the girls from drinking while at work because so many were getting drunk and passing out in the dressing room.We broke up fights between girls every night, and it wasnt spats between 2 girls,it was 4-5 against 4-5 girls,a friggin entertainer gangfight so to speak. It was friggin nuts!
It was the original 8-10 girls.
I know it sounds crazy, but they ganged together and made it hell for any entertainer to "move in"on their money. Now there were a few less then perfect ladies that made it on staff that didnt have any problems and pretty much was excepted like they should be into the dressing room. But not the ones that these girls saw as a threat to their money.
The short version is that these girls trashed the new girls stuff, they trashed them to customers, they even went as far as to drug dancers.Yea,thats right, drug dancers.
We didnt figure that little gem out until we had to call 911 for one of our visiting entertainers who had passed out and stopped breathing in the dressing room. She didnt drink, and she sure as hell didnt do drugs, she had worked with us for 5 years and everyone in the company knew her.Everyone did drugs of one sort or another, and we all drank, but we all knew she didnt. She wouldnt even come over to someones house for staff parties unless she was promised no drugs till she left.
My point to all this is,dressing room "cliques"are for the most part, all petty. But some can also be deadly.
The girl sitting next to you in the dressing room cutting ,out her pasties, can seem to be your friend, but she may not be.
Im not saying every entertainer is out to get you, hell,ALL the people i have called best friends in life have all been dancers or in the business.
Im saying it is as it is in life, you must be on your guard.Know what the situation your in is.If its bad things that are out of your control, get the hell outta there.
If you walk into the dressing room, and you feel like you just walked into the "other"teams locker room, full of the other teams players, get out.
If you walk into the dressing room and it feels like you just walked into a family reunion, full of sisters, aunts and mothers, your home.

Yea, BigM, I hear ya. I have dealt with people who pretended to be my friends but really were my worst enemies. I JUST CAN'T BELIEVE how far people will go. I would never ever resort to these disgusting tactics in a million years. I don't trust anyone.

    Trust is something earned.
I dont want you to think that there are not many wonderful, good to the core, entertainers and staff in this business. Its just like anywhere else, its just unfortunate that we get a bigger share of lifes rejects.

Yeah, things are tough in the business and for normal people trying to work it, it's always hard because the money and dysfunction attracts and keeps predators and losers. A lot of people aren't willing to acknowledge how vicious and conditional stripping is. Everything hinges on fantasy....
Fantasia, you need to find a new club. I just worked in North Dakota, met some girls who passed through the Northern, heard good things about Iowa during the summer.....PM me for details. Times are hard for everyone and you have to accomodate that. I'm pretty pissed about the downturn in business too, but what are you going to do? Certainly not give up. That money is yours to take.
