Default question ... men on the board

I was reading the thread in the ladies only section regarding men (specifically men that aren't in the business) posting on the board.

The board is open so I know I never thought twice about posting here, but she does make a good point, this board is really for dancers (and we guys do have the blue board we can post on). I don't want to speak for anyone else, but I know would think it is no big deal if the ladies here prefer customers post on the blue board.

I thought the "Ladies Only" section, was for ladies only. Maybe there should be a filter not allowing guys to a) not post there, or b) not READ there. But anyways, yeah, you maybe right, but I like hearing/reading things from a dancer's perspective, and they may also like hearing/reading things from a customer's perspective. What better way to learn to be a more effective entertainer (and ultimately a bigger money maker ) than interacting with customers in a non-business and relatively non-threatening environment from around the world?

If they don't want us to post here, I would be more than happy to oblige.

I don't really have a problem with males being on the board, It is a tad bit annoying when you see some of the males trying to hit you up for cyber all the time though.

But some of you are quite pleasant

I cant say that Ive been made to feel welcome as JZ says, but there has been minimum outright hostility towards me. I post from time to time here because some of the topics are interesting.

Regarding the Ladies Only section, I read it. There are some good posts there, many of which would generate more informative responses if posted in the general areas. I believe many of the ladies post in Ladies Only more by habit than anything else but unfortunately some of the dancers simply dont want to deal with male responses. To each her own I guess.

Sometimes I have personal questions and personal thoughts that I would like to express, but I find it difficult doing that, especially knowing that men who are not in this buisness, are reading the Ladies Only forum. Just my .02.

The only way there can ever be an "exclusive" club of selective membership on the internet is for someone to step forward and manage this through an email distribution list.

Trust me- on a local forum, there are both locked/private forums for men-only and women-only, and both have people on them that shouldn't be. It only takes one spineless PL to hand out his password to a woman in chat for that to proliferate the female userbase, or one naive/younger female to do the same to some guy for the opposite.

Mailing lists are much better as each "post" just echos through to the membership base of emails. Then you put one woman in charge of verifying anyone added to the distribution list is "for real" and any rumors of someone having compromised the membership gets outted (i.e. no more email replies go to that address).

This is also more private since past posts are not laying around for wrongful late comers. If at any given time, someone that shouldn't have access wedges their way in, all past posts are sitting in everyone's hotmail Inboxes rather than sitting out in the open on a forum for reading.

I absolutely believe the women here should have a private, male-free place where they can meet and exchange information, but trying to lock this into a private forum would most definately result in more male eyes prying than there are now. The whole curiosity thing would cause some guys to go to extreme efforts to gain access- a lot more than bother to peak in the 'voluntary' one there is now. I know this is the case locally now.

The other thing that will help reduce readers in Ladies Only would be if Pryce can remove it's entries from showing on the Most Recent Topics link at the bottom of the forum. When the board is dead, I'll wind up in Ladies Only just from seeing that link go active and clicking on it (winding up in a Ladies Only thread. grrr).

You ladies really should consider posting a thread in Ladies Only to see if someone wants to appoint or volunteer a role to make a Yahoo group or private email distribution list for women interested. While these still do not offer 100% privacy, they usually yield the best results... and it's in control of an involved woman versus a 3rd party so dealing with breaches dont require getting a hold of anyone.

It doesn't matter if you're somebody in this world, it rather matters you mean the whole world to somebody.

I havn't been hit up much for cyber on the PM. Probably because I don't have nude photos of myself posted. That unfortunately, is often the consequence of women posting intimate photos of themselves for public consumption...which is ok by me, as I like to watch too!!!

I really like the guys on the boards. I think I've learned so much from the men, especially the ones who are also patrons of SC. Often the ladies can get into a "groupthink" mentality and I can't get anything resourceful out of:

    "Dump that worthless man!"
    "Just smile and be yourself!"
"Your body and looks are fine, and any customer should be honored to be in your presence!"

I am here for advice and support, but meaningful support. And I've received it from everyone. The stripclub is a microcosm community that also includes customers, management and staff.

The key to a successful stripper is for her to best utilize all the resources around her, not just depend on her looks or the advice from other strippers competing with her for customers.

If the men left this board, I would also leave.

I likes the guys here, and it helps provide a more balanced view of things. I'm basically agreeing with Katrine here.

Also, just a note, there is a livejournal community that is very strictly only for dancers, no customers or interested parties and such. All posts are locked from non-members. There are a few male dancers, but they're a different breed than customers, aye?

Yes, there are times when I feel like I may be imposing, but then I will post a topic and get some very sincere thank yous for the opinion.

I come here because there is not a lot of pretentiousness among the group.

I do feel there should be a private ladies room that is open only to ladies beyond newbie level to excape trolls so they can post to people they know..

Sometimes I look at the number of "guests" online and I wonder how many are just lurking to get the feel and be a real member or just lurking for voyerism.

Cool, thanks for the replies. Sounds like some of the ladies like to hear our (customer) points of view.

p.s. I didn't realize the PM/cyber thing was a problem but I guess that is going to happen if you post pics of beautiful women and an email address.

The forum name "Ladies Only" has been enough warning to keep my curiousities at bay in spite of the preamble posted which clearly states that the forum entries are for ladies only. Tis a matter of being respectful to the wishes of the moderators and participants in the forum.

The preamble attempts to warn males offenders that making repeat postings is reason to ban rights to the board. One entry could be forgiven and forgotten, perhaps the offender did not notice. Multiple offenses? You are now dealing with an idiot- ban justified.

We are social creatures. I find myself enjoying the society of your company....our forum paticipants tend to be intelligent, witty, creative, insightful, honest and *chuckling* kinky.

Excuse me but am I missing something? Isn't this section called "customer conversation?" I thought the whole point of this section was to elicit customer feedback. Maybe you're only looking for feedback from female customers? This is all very confusing.

I guess in the end it comes down to what you really want to get out of these forums. For many of the questions and topics that arise, I believe it would be a shame if there was no opportunity for customers to give feedback. An 'industry-only' board would deny that outside perspective that can be extremely valuable - particularly when you are getting it from the very people from whom you are trying to get money!

I haven't read the thread in 'Ladies Only', so I'm only assuming the reasons behind it, mind you. But from what I have seen, most (if not all) of the customers that post are polite, respectful, and give well thought out and articulate answers. Sure, there's the occasional troll, but that's no different than any other forum. Less, I would think, as they don't tend to get the extreme reactions that they are looking for.

If this section was for female customers only, it would be an awfully quiet place .....I think that there are only a couple of us female custys that regularly post on these forums.

I think everyone was talking about male posting on the other forums (Stripping General, Hustle Hut, etc.) and especially Ladies Only. And it sounds like the ladies are OK with it (except on the Ladies Only section, of course).
