Do you all know of a foundation that I can use for my body and face that wont rub off on my clothes?
Try sally hansens airbrush makeup line, they have airbrush leg and face makeup at pretty affordable prices. They dry after 30 seconds and wont rub off on your clothes. I like to use the leg stuff before i go to work and i apply it all the way up to my butt for a healthy glowing look. Makes your legs look flawless by covering those pesky little hair follicles that stick out like a sore thumb. It evens your skintone also and provides a healthy dose of vitamin k to nourish your skin.

I use dermablend to cover some of my tattoos (sp) but I would never use it on my face and it is expensive. Colorstay works well there. The Sally Hansen stuff sounds cool.

I use a foundation from MaxFactor called "colour adapt". I usually put 2 coats on and still I never get anything on my clothes. When it comes to sweating on stage its decent but surely not the best. You can get it at CVS for $4 if I remember correctly.
You think you know... but you have no idea!
I've used Revlon's Colorstay. I use it primarily on my face but I've also used it to cover up razor burns on my "bermuda triangle." You need to wait a minute for it to dry to put your t-bar on. I've worn white t-bars with it and never got anything on them.

TRY MAC..... IT'S MORE EXPENSIVE, BUT YOUR FACE WILL LOOK FLAWLESS. iT'S WATER BASED AND IT NEVER COMES OFF AT WORK. YOU CAN ORDER IT ONLINE.

cool,thanks guys:-)
I agree with those who said Revlon's Colorstay. I LOVE it. It's the only foundation I use. It'll stay put until you scrub it off.. LOL
I have strech marks and I am black so most of the stuff is expensive or they didnt have it in my color. But I found a really good beauty pagent trick and it works. I just apply a nomal founadation and then apply a light coat of hair spray. It stayed on untill I shower. That is only on my body. I never had an issue with my face.

I like this one to. Also I have heard that they have a powder in spray that is water proofed there for will not come off, but I have never tried this one, so I’m not sure. (This spray is sold just in New York & Los Angeles, so you would have to order it online.Originally Posted by bambiblue link=board=25;threadid=9823;start=msg118361#msg118 361 date=1086480581
I would suggest Dermacolor Camoflage Cream Kit (12 colors), followed by Dermacolor Fixing Spray and then Dermacolor Translucent Powder to matt and weatherproof the cream and spray. This stuff is made by a company called Kryolan. I love it.

I totally agree, Ocean!! I found that stuff sort of by accident and got one of the two last bottles at the Save-On. It is so much nicer than Dermablend and the color is more natural.
A customer actually complimented my KNEES :o, because of this stuff. He asked me how I got my knees so smooth.
This stuff totally covers bruises and rough spots!!!
I am so sold on it!!

There used to be this stuff called a pancake stick that you could get at any drug/grocery store. I can't remember who made it, but it kicks ass. Now I work in a place where I dont have to cover it up, so I dont have to cover it as much.

COREY:
You can but the Sally Hansen stuff at Walgreens...Sav-on...etc. I live in California, and I have seen it everywhere. If you can't get them to ship it to you from the Sally Hansens website...why not try ordering it from the drug stores online...or go to the drugstores yourself? BTW, I live in southern CA.
Okay, I'm an aspiriring make-up artist and cosmetics is one of my feverish obsessions (note the Kevyn Aucoin quote, ha!), so I know what I'm talking about!!
Salley Hansens Spray on makeup: I've heard too many poor reviews on this one to buy it myself. Most people have said that it just looks plain horrible an unrealistic. The leg spray is good tho! I use it to cover imperfections on my legs but the consistency wouldn't be good for your face, you need something more "natural" looking.
(You can purchase this at your local drug store)
Dermablend: This stuff is great for those who need heavier coverage to achieve a flawless complexion! Cover anything like birthmarks, scars, acne, rosecia, broken capilaries and tattoos! This stuff will not rub off! They also sell a body makeup! But it IS a heavier opaque makeup and some people who are used to normal foundation won't like this. It really is for covering up what no other foundation on earth will cover. You can only purchase this through mail orders at:
http://www.dermablend.com
Maxfactor Colour Adapt: This product was made to adapt your true skin tone and is not a "rub proof" foundation.
(You can purchase this at your local drug store)
Revlon Colourstay: This is what you want! This product WILL stay put and not rub off! It's also great for very oily skin that tends to oxidize foundation much sooner than dry or normal skin types. No more makeup melting due to oil or slight sweating! This will make your foundation last much longer!
(You can purchase this at your local drug store)
MAC: Everything MAC seems to be really "in" right now. They do have some great products but honestly, from a makeup artists point of view, not everything in their line is fantabulous. MAC foundations are good yes, but they won't help her in this department. MAC will rub off when put to the test, and just because it's expensive does NOT mean it's the best! Especially in the cosmetics industry! You can purchase this at your local MAC counter or:
http://www.maccosmetics.com
Estee Lauder Double Wear: If you want a higher end foundation than this would be for you! At $32 a bottle, this stuff WORKS! It won't rub off and will prolong the life of your foundation if you have very oily skin!
http://www.esteelauder.com/templates...CT_ID=PROD1698
So if I were you, I would either purchase the Revlon Colorstay or Estee Lauder Double Wear. This is what you want if you want your foundation to stay put all night!

I really like loreal exact match it dosen't ever get on my clothes and dosen't sweat off.Plus it's cheap and blends to your skin tone.
The secret though is to use loose powder over the foundation.
Also when your face is a little sweaty if you reapply the powder it will give you a nice matte look.

As someone who's also had training in the makeup department...
For stage work, proper application is almost as important as what brand/type you are using. Always start with a clean & moisturized face, use concealer etc., then liquid foundation/cream foundation, and set with powder. The powder will seal the makeup and makes skin less prone to becoming shiny and makeup rubbing off. When doing stage shows (for theatre/fashion shows...what i've had experience with) I have been known to mist the face with hairspray when all is said and done...but not a lot or it will be heavy on the face and hurt the situation, not help.
I've been using MAC since long before it was "in" and trendy...if you are selective with your products, and using them properly, IMO it is one of the top makeup companies around...for regular everyday makeup and for stage makeup.
It also wouldn't hurt to start off with a primer, Philosophy makes a good one...so does Clinique (I think they call theirs a mattefying lotion or something) Also, if you are really worried about perspiration, finish off your makeup with Benefit Shelaq...it's a makeup sealant I have used a lot with stages with hot lights.![]()
Yeah, like I said MAC does have a lot of great products but I've never known their foundations to be famous for staying power. I love the paints and wide array of eyeshadow shades. Lipglass is great too. I really love Benefit's Shelaq too, especially on lips!
The best foundation primers IMO are smashbox photofinish and Laura Mercier Primer. And yes, preparing the canvas is just as important. Dust loose powder all over with a big brush to set makeup. You can also spritz your face LIGHTLY with evian water to help set foundation. I've heard of hairspray being used in such a manner but I always avoided it because as you know hairspray is notorious for clogging pores.

Oh, definitely. The hairspray does clog pores, I definitely wouldn't recommend it for long term/frequent usage...not unless you're skin is made of steel or something! For my everyday makeup, I use mac studio fix...not a conventional choice but it definitely works for me...I just slap on some moisturizer, and some concealer and put it overtop for a smooth finish...I don't even bother with liquid foundation unless it's a special occasion and I need super flawless skin. Surprisingly enough, the best loose powder i've come across was Christian Dior, I think it was a present from my mom or something...and I was hesitant to use it since it looked so old ladyish and it worked miracles.
Diorlight powder it's called...who knew?
It's a blue powder? The only blue powder i've tried is the clean and clear neutralizing powder which actually came closer to matching my skin tone than any flesh toned powder I've ever used! I love how it neutralizes overall redness. I'm pretty pale and everything else used to leave that too dark "mask line" around my jaw area. Do you know about how much it costs?
"Life is too short to spend it hoping that the perfectly arched eyebrow or hottest new lipshade can mask an ugly heart."-Kevyn Aucoin
Hehe no, the powder isn't blue...but I do see where you are going with that...there's a wierd contraption in the case that is clear blue making the powder look that way. My mom wouldn't tell me how much she bought if for (I don't remember....why do you care?) so I looked it up online and i'm seeing a range of about 40-45 bucks.
You could probably have enough powder in it to properly set an elephant's foundation though...so it isn't like they are ripping you off on how much product you get.
Oh I see! I wanted to know how much it was cause I need a new loose powder ofcourse!Originally Posted by Tiff_7_17 link=board=25;threadid=9823;start=msg155035#msg155 035 date=1092323509
I'm also on a tight budget until I start dancing. Too bad it's not blue, I really would like to find a loose version of the clean & clear powder. Thank you for looking up the price for me!
