Default I want a smaller ass!

My butt's not quite as big as J. Lo's, but it's close. The thing is, I don't want a big butt. I want a firm, tight little ass! I work out on a regular basis, but my butt doesn't seem to be shrinking. I've been eating pretty well too, so I don't think my diet is to blame. I used to do this exercise tape called Buns of Steel, but that just seemed to make my butt bigger because it firmed up the muscles in my ass.

When I belonged to a gym, I used to do the Stairmaster, but that seemed to make my butt bigger too. Now I have a treadmill and I walk on it 4-5 times a week for 20-30 minutes each time. I have been walking on an incline because I heard it makes your butt look firmer and perkier, but it isn't helping my butt shrink. Should I set my treadmill at a 0% incline instead of 5%(which is what I have been doing) and just walk faster?

I already did a search on this topic, and I didn't come up with much. Most of the girls who asked about butt exercises wanted to make their butts bigger, not smaller.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Some girls say they want a big booty, but I want a petite little ass! I'll be glad to trade with a girl with a little butt. lol

Try this, lay on your stomach and do leg lifts that way, it tones the flabby part that likes to jiggle when you walk. Its pretty easy and if it starts hurting just do it while watching tv and youll get too distracted to notice the pain. Within a week of this you should notice your booty firming, thats my best suggestion. I have butt problems too. My butt seems to make up for the lack of chest area that i have. LOL

stair master and most exercises like that will just make your butt bigger...

The best thing IMHO...is to RUN...if you dont like to run...then power walk

If you want proof...take a look at any runner's body...none of them have big legs or asses.

The thing is, thats an area thats really hard to make smaller and results will come, but they will come VERY SLOW...it may take months of walking or running to see results.

    Just get out and jog/run

    Hope that helps

I just want to say that you can have mine! hahha I would love to have a Beyonce butt. Anyways yes they are right. RUN! Ive never tried the leg lifts oceanblue was describing but they sound interesting. Might just add them to my workout just to see what it can do.

I run 2 miles a day normally Im not a hardcore runner. I wish I had a smaller ass but my damn genetics (Im cuban) don't allow for it. So I say have a tight firm big ass and love it!!!!

I may have many faults, but being wrong ain't one of them.

Thanks for the input everybody. I hate running, but fast walking doesn't seem to be making my butt any smaller, so maybe I'll give it a try.

It's true about running.... running is the best form of cardio to tone up your lower half without bulking up. I run about 3 miles 4 times a week and I have yet to find anything that compares to running in terms of toning up my legs, lower abs, and my butt. Start slowly and gradually work up to running longer distances. You should have a tighter, smaller ass in no time!!!

By exercising you increase the muscle mass, which is good. You don't lose the fat. To do so, you need endermologie. It will breakdown the fat cells and will flush them out through the lymphatic system that has been stimulated. The results are great. Associated with ultrasound, you will get faster result. Imperative to drink at least 2 liters of water per day. If you are interested, contact me directly at [email protected], I will be glad to answer your questions.

Diane, how about if you spam your useless knowledge elsewhere???? Pretty obvious you know nothing about fitness, and are trying to sell a "lose weight with no effort" product.

You NEED cardiovascular exercise to burn fat. Yes, you should be drinking lots of water everyday, but you also have to sweat, and get your heartrate in a target zone for at least 30 minutes, once you hit 20 minutes you start burning fat.

Don't let anyone tell you they have some miracle drug that will drop the weight for good...it always comes back, UNLESS you have a good eating/exercise routine. If it sounds too easy to be true, IT IS!

Ummm... does it sound like someone is selling something?

To lose fat you have to burn calories. About 3,500 calories = one pound of fat. And by increasing muscle mass you burn more calories no matter what activity you are doing.

I hate running too, but it really does help. If you have someone to run with it makes waking up in the morning to go run 200% better.

I'm having this same problem. Before I had my daughter 3 years, I used to walk on a treadmill with no incline for my cardio, and I did weight training to firm up. I got excellent results, but I thought I was getting too bulky, so I simply cut down on the weights (in pounds, not repetitions), and that worked.

Now that I don't have time for the gym, (tried to take her once a few months ago, spent 30 minutes in the nursery with her face buried in my shoulder and screaming not to let her go), I have only been doing the treadmill. I set it on an incline, because I could really feel the muscles in my legs getting a workout that way, and I figured I could use it, since I wasn't going to the gym right now. Anyway, I feel like I'm getting too bulky, but I'm not sure if I should still do the incline or not. I'm not sure if it would make any difference or not, and right now I'm trying to loose a few pounds that I gained when I switched my birth control pills, and I think having the extra muscle might help me to loose this weight (it seems really resistant, I'm exercising more, but not loosing weight, arggghh!) Let me know if you decide to go without incline and if it helps.

I think your butt will only shrink if you loose weight.

Hate to be the one to rain on your parade...but it may just be genetics. You may just have the butt you have and no amount of exercising will make it smaller. BUT, exercising WILL make it more firm...

Its true that genetics plays a huge role.... Not to mention that everyone seems to pick out their own flaws much easier than anyone else would. YOU tend to be your own worse critic so I'm sure you are worried about nothing much..........
