Default I Went Too Far With Mr. Tweeze

Its like an obsession. On my computer desk, I have a magnified 7X mirror. I am constantly looking for stray hairs to pluck. In doing so, I have gone way overboard and my eyebrow hair does not seem to want to grow back. Is tehre anything I can do , cosmetic wise, that will help. Someone once said feathering was a good option. what exactly is feathering? Is it any good? Do I have any other options?
Then again, Im not sure that thicker eyebrows will even look good on me. My eyes are slanted too.

I did this too. You'll have to buy a good eyebrow pencil and "shellac" makeup (MAC sells some) to keep your fill-in brows nice (summer weather.) Don't use cheap clear mascara instead of shellac because it flakes, looks terrible.
I have almond eyes too- it's tough balance. Heavy brows make your eyes look smaller, and overplucking looks severe. Just pluck under the arch until you can go to a professional, and hide the mirror in the bathroom!

I wish I had that problem. I have very thick eyebrows that look nice but in order to maintain them I have to pluck literally every single day. I wish they'd stop growing in so fast!

I think most girls go overboard with the plucking and should leave it to the pros. Clown eyebrows don't look good on anybody. I suck at plucking so I spend the $10 to get it done right.

I recently had mine waxed for about $7-8...they turned out perfect! I am hooked, and it only took a minute to do during my bikini wax!

Finally they are symetrical...Btw, I have your same problem with tweeze obssession Tiffany LOL

lol at the mirror on your desk! Has anybody ever gotten their eyebrows threaded? I Can't wax because of the retin-a. And I'm afraid if I tweeze I'll have Tiffany's problem!

I tweezed mine down to two tiny, tiny lines once. I just kept plucking one more until there was nothing but a few hairs left. LOL. I had the eyebrow obsession too, but it has cleared lately. Luckily, my eyebrows always grow back in thick and quickly. I am going to the salon now to have them waxed. I am not good at making them look the same. It's not that easy to get them even and a good shape... so I just leave it to the pros.

I make it a habit to never stare too long in the mirror! You will always find stray hairs LOL
I hope you put the mirror far from reach. I too get mine done and only tidy things up between waxes.

hey cali. Im not sure what technique she uses, but i can find out. She charges about 400 dollors for it and I love the way it looks!
It looks natural to me too. I have light blong hair, and some sparce areas of hair, so im probally going to get it sometime soon. Im so sick of using an eyebrow pencil i could scream!

Hey hun I hope you didn't think I was talking about you specifically. It was just a general comment. Ya know like the chick at the checkout sometimes who has her eyebrows sooooo overdone it almost looks like the McD's arches on her face? ...and she does that on purpose!

Anyway I worked with a waitress who has a serious eyebrow obsession. She got her tattooed on and they did NOT look good. Too thin, too dark and too painted on looking. Of course she went extreme with it, she has no hair left there, just the tats. LOL Two thin black lines on her face, too high above her eyes. And pale skin. Not good. If you go for the perm makeup thing, do make sure you pick a good color, shape and thickness. And leave some hair there for chrissakes. The totally painted thing just doesn't work. Too BoBo-esque.

I have heard alot of good things about threading but never tried it myself. I get waxed and it works for me.

Temporary cosmetic fix: get a sharp brow pencil a shade lighter than your natural brow color and draw short feathery strokes to fill in. Blend lightly with a brow brush.

Threading: never had it done but might soon since a place opened near me that does it and the girls I've seen who've done it look good.

Are you Latina, Tiffany? Latina's brows are harder to wax because they grow in different directions, so I've had a few bad waxing episodes. But if you find the right person, it can look great.

Permanent tattooing: it can look great if done right, but they'll be using a tattoo needle, so whomever does it need to be using totally sterile equipment sterilized in a medical-grade autoclave, a new ink packet wach time, and gloves.

Put the mirror away! Overplucking too much over time will sometimes stop some hairs from growing back for good.

Ok. I was not aware that there were different techniques for permanent eyebrows. I have done a little research on the prices here however, and i have found it anywhere from 195-600 dollors. Im guessing this means that the high end of the pricing is not just due to experienced tecnicians and more to do with the tecnique they use.

If anyone knows anything about the different tecniques i would be interested as well, as my hairdresser is 3 hrs away from me!

I guess im looking for the most natural technique.

I have this exact same problem as you.I havee hard problem even trying to quit to let them grow back in full.I found the product of loreal eyebrow pencils work good filling in.They come with one end pencil and other end with buit in eyebrow power and a eyebrow comb. Also when you pluck too many out the eyebrows get to where they dont want to stay put.I learned hair gel or clear mascara keeps them in place really good.I personally always liked thin eyebrows over big bushy ones anyways so just fill them in or go over any spots with the pencil/powder.I hope this helps.good luck.

ok, i talked to my hairdresser and and she uses the machine tecnique?
She said its easier for her to control the amount of color.

The hair still gows after the procedure making it still look natural. After 8 years or so it fades almost completely.

before its done they eyebrows are drawn/colored to your specifications, and then she does the procedure.
