UGH- I'm so sorry Lexi! That sucks ass. I'm really glad your friend is dropping this guy. I can understand being upset that your girlfriend is deceiving you- hell, my guy has deceived me and I've been enraged, lol, but destroying someone's property like that? That is bullshit, and I hope he pays you every cent he owes you and learns a serious lesson here.
If you want, you can PM me and describe some of the outfits you lost, or send pics... there's a girl at my work who makes awesome costumes, and if you'd be willing to wait while they're shipped across the country, I bet she would do her best to re-create them for you. Her prices are fair, too. Either way, good luck. =/

you better get your money before she dumps him! But I'm glad to hear that it wasn't somebody from work and that it wasn't directed towards you.

Firstly, thanks everyone for your awesome advice and hugs. But I did have to rephrase a bit...
I did have some clothes that I kept at home BUT its clothing that I stopped wearing because it just wasnt me anymore and what not. So I dreaded having to wear that as well.

What happened was, I left most of my clothes at a friends house and her twisted bf thought it was hers. (thought she was a dancer behind his back) and when he found it, he cut it up. Little bastard didnt say anything until we found out. He's a slick MFer...
I go to get my trunk of shit, and noticed that the shit was GONE. (not gone, but actually CUT UP into tiny peices) Not even shredded, so I couldnt play that look off. So I go ballistic, and she starts crying and I know its not her. Then I see her bf come in all raging mad about to say something to her about her "Lying" to him about stripping and he realized it was mine. He felt like a real dick.
Soooooooooo supposedly, he is gonna reimburse me because I said that technically, I could sue. So he's gonna pay me back. (yeah we'll see) Son of a bitch.

Oh well. I had a great night anyway, so I dont feel as bad. I was just so worried before. I had to stop at Mandee's and get a bunch of thongs and stuff...argh

    Again thanks everyone.

Im better now, and thanks so much everyone.

Had this been a girl at work, I would have been fired for kicking someone's ass, and so would she have been. I'm not catty at all, so I know that this wouldnt happen. Then again, I never though this would happen outSIDE a club either.

He sounds like a dick.. i mean why didnt He just ASK ABOUT the clothes before being a raging lunatic?

I only pray that your friend has the brains to leave this loser. Anyone who would do such a cruel thing is not someone she needs to be around. One suggestion, as mentioned before make sure you get his repayment offer in writing, but more importantly, keep all the shreds of your clothes somewhere in a bag if you haven't thrown them out already. This way, you have evidence to use against him if it comes down to a small-claims court case. Armed with that, you almost are guaranteed to win.

Lastly, as SexyJess mentioned already, I too may be able to help. If you had any custom costumes created that really were special to you, I know a lot of costume creators who might be able to help you get some of your fondness back. PM me if you want me to put you in touch with them.

Doing what he did makes him a jerk regardless. Even if the clothes had been his GF's and even if she had been dancing behind his back, he would have had no right to destroy her property. Moreover, such irrational and apparently impulsive violence against property, whoever it belongs to, is a bad sign; the next time he goes ballistic over something he thinks she has done (whether or not she actually did it), he might attack her or some other person. She definitely should dump the guy.

The only good news is that there is some hope of you getting at least some money in compensation and, even more importantly, that no one is that pissed off at you directly.

I agree with DW and Ww..... I'm glad it wasn't a co-worker.... but it was a JERK!! This moron has no idea what a pain in the ass it is to lose a wardrobe acquired through years of shopping! Boy, what a pain in the ass! I just can't believe anyone would be that hasty to tear up someone's stuff.... no respect whatsoever! That fucker really needs to be turned in to the police. Anyway, yes, get it in writing. I wish I was there to go shopping with ya'!

I'm with Sapphire and Monty. Get the agreement in writing and get it before your friend dumps him. And I'm also glad to hear it was nothing directed at you.

He is a psycho, seriously. The part about him "cutting the stuff into tiny pieces" is ritualized psychotic behavior. Get your repayment contract and get your friend the hell away from him before he gets "weird" again. I totally know how you feel as I have had my clothes held "hostage" before for a short period of time. I felt so angry and helpless to go into work with only a white thong and a black thong and three pair of shoes and have to borrow everything else to wear for like three or four days. Good luck with rebuilding the wardrobe.

I agree as well and I suggest you act quickly. I hate to say it but I wouldn't be expecting him to pay you back in full considering the way this situation happen.

Recoup as you much can from him ASAP before he disappears into the wild blue yonder

OMG! Im sorry this happened to you Lexi! I would have been torn apart myself. Some outfits get really expensive so I hope you are satisfied with what he is giving you. As posted above... get that on paper! What a definete psycho! When I go to work I only take 4-5 outfits that way if things do get stolen (which has happened before) it wouldnt be everything. But even if they stole only a few outfits it would still be a loss. I know I have some type of personal attachment with most of my outfits... some are one of a kind and irreplacable. The only thing I can think of would be to have a costume designer attempt to make some things as others have stated. Good Luck!!! I hope everything goes well!

This guy sounds like he has major issues and your friend needs to get away from him ASAP. I understand confronting an SO if you think they're doing anything you'd disagree with behind your back, but going on a rampage like that? Something tells me if this guy gets the wrong idea in his head one day your friend may wind up in little pieces like your outifts.

I had to improvise this past weekend in Vegas when my suitcase didn't arrive when I did. I had to wait till the next morning! I took my butt over to Target, got some cheap makeup, a little mesh tank and shorts and (God, help me) non-stripper plastic heels. The whole thing set me back about $75, but I left the club with $500. Of course the next day I got my "real" stuff back and made almost $1,400. I think it was more confidence with outfits I liked and just being happy that I got my suitcase back. Maybe...

OMG...Lexi, I am slow too (nice to have a partner, Gynger...LOL)

Any updates? If he hasn't paid you back, fully, make sure you have a signed agreement with him. Another trick is to get his social security number...that way you can track him down to just about anywhere. A signed document of payment plans would hold up in court...and you do not need to hold onto the clothing...taking pics of it will suffice in court, as well.

Just now read this, so sorry that happened to you. Who said prev. about ritualized psycho behavior is correct. I read lots of books on this, & a friend had her wall punched in by a bf, when the cop saw it, she said, the wall represented her head to him. To your friend, Beware. Again to you, I hope you recoup all, the best to you.

wow Lexi!! In a way, I can understand what you're going through. Since my little sis just started dancing, we had to order all of her stuff online but it didn't get here in time for her first night so we had to run out and improvise by getting clearance stuff from Fashion Bug. It wasn't too bad. But then again, the girls at the club took one look at her and said "uh, no...not in that!" and let her borrow their shoes and outfits. Poor thing, she felt pretty stupid. But what else can you do? At least you're a seasoned vet! You're beautiful and could make the money wearing Grandma's nightgown!!!

I'm so sorry to hear that, Lexi. At least the asshole is paying you back, but still, it's a hassle to have to replace your entire dancing wardrobe. Even if his girlfriend was a dancer and she was keeping her job a secret from him, he had no right to go ballistic like that. What a psycho! Best of luck to you.
