    Default My saga continues

I may get some heat for not finding my older thread and typing this post as a continuation of it. Let me know if I should have made a new thread and next time I will do that. Different messag boards have different ettiquette.

So, yesterday my friend called me and told me that the manager who'd told me I need experience was out of town and there was a newer manager there on the weekend. She told him "my friend auditioned before and now she's available for days- can she come in and try out?" He said yeah, so she gave me a call.

I got ready: Shaved my everything, straightened my hair (thick shoulder length, glossy, auburn), put on makeup, moisturized, etc. Put on a cute denim skirt and cute tight Midori shirt, brought my dancing outfit and headed over there. I talked to the manager -he was very nice, and he had me change and come out when ready.

I wore: a nice sexy but simple lace black bra (I need support: I have 34DD breasts and have not found another top yet that doesn't allow my boobs to flop all over and look blobby. They're very big and very real!), and a cute black T-bar with little red cherries on front and back, with my 6" black platform heels.

Watched several girls dance and then went for my turn. I picked my stage name: Kitty. I hope y'all don't think it's lame, but I love cats and I think it sounds naughty and innocent at the same time. Not to mention that they already had a Monique so I couldn't use that. Kitty was my boyfrend's idea.

The girl before me was named Chimera (pronounced like k-"eye"-mare-uh- cool name.). I swear to you, all she did was walk onto the stage, walk slowly to the other end of the stage and then back, turn around, hold onto the ledge that comes down from the ceiling and gyrate her hips as she stuck her out ass. Lather, rinse, repeat. Three times, that's all she did. And she has worked there for two years.

I did my little turn on the catwalk, and tried to move slowly, and maybe I worked too hard, I don't know. I know I need experience, but how hard can it be to work there when these girls are literally just walking and turning, over and over? I'm not saying that the job is easy; I'm saying that I could not have looked that much worse than the other girls.

I had befriended a girl, Angie, in the dressing room, and she told me I did well. She was really nice and did not seem fake. The manager said, "I want you to get dressed and then fill out the first part of an application and we'll call you in a few days." I was like, Fuck. That's a blow-off. I asked Angie about it and she said, "yeah- it sounds like it. That's weird, I'm going to go talk to him, because I thought you were good."

I got changed and she talked to him. When I came back out, she said, "Girl, you're in. He wasn't bullshitting you. He said he wants to hire you. I even said, 'she got the titties for it!' and he said yeah!" Then I felt a little better.

So I went to see him in the office, and he had me fill out the contact info part of the app. but not the rest of it (the 'experience' section). He said, "I'm gonna look at the schedule and call you in a couple days." I sort of sputtered, trying to get my words out, and finally I said, "so...are you just saying that to spare my feelings, or...are you really going to call me?" and he said, "I'll be honest with you: if I didn't feel we had a position for you, I would tell you that. I have to see how we can work you in- you'll probably have to work days to start."

I replied, "That would be fine! I'm going to have night classes in the fall so that would work out great." Then I started gushing sorta being funny, like an overeager young executive or something: "I really want to work here; it would be huge to me if I got this job. I know I need experience but I know I can learn, and I am great at flirting with guys I don't know, I'm eager, and enthusiastic, and, and - well, I can lick my own nipple, and that's GOT to count for something! Or maybe that's just dirty..." I was teasing him (although the nipple thing is true) and he laughed, and said "I'll call you Wednesday night." I shook his hand and said, "If I don't hear from you, I'm going to pester you." He laughed and said, "please do!"

I am trying to be upbeat but also not get my hopes up too far, because I think the whole thing sounds weird. I mean, they are a very professional club compared to most here, and they do have an actual schedule. You can't just pop in to work whenever you want to. So it might not be a lie. But I have a hard time believing he's going to call me. Ya know? And I'm a bit nervous that he might call me and say "I'll give you a private dancing lesson" or something totally gross.

However, my friend who works there says he is one of the most professional managers and he would probably just say no if he thought I sucked. AND he said to me, "you looked pretty good up there for someone who's never done this before."

Anyway, we'll see what happens. If he doesn't call me I will call him, because the squeaky wheel gets the stripping job, and it can't hurt. Sorry this is so long and not all *that* interesting, but I wanted to see if anyone has an opinion, and also just keep you posted since you're all giving me advice and stuff. This is a great club, so I might have to set my sights lower if I don't get in, but I have a little time to figure it all out, and I have this Friday off work. So I might go check out a few more to see if I can audition there too.

Hope you're all having a great day, thanks for reading!

I think you got the job. Smaller clubs with less girls on the rotation can't usually handle taking on another girl immediately. Congratulations and good luck!

Sounds like you did well. Club managers usually have allot on their plate (watching naked girls is tough work, ha ha) so if he doesn't call Wednesday, you might stop in and have a chat with him.

I also sounds to me like you have the job. Alot of clubs need a little time to figure out a schedule for the new girl. Congradulations!!

I have no doubt that you got it. Just make sure that the next post you create on SW will be titled, "I GOT THE JOB!" come Wednesday. Congrats in advance!

yep my first club did the same thing. I had to make a "booking" and it took a lil bit because the schedule was filled up. I think you got it otherwise they would have just said ..."we're not hiring"

Wow- I definitely hope you guys are right! Thank you for all of the encouraging comments! I will post as soon as I know anything. I'm still keeping my hopes guarded, as I think it's safe to have a policy of "I won't believe it 'til I see it."

EEk. Now if I *am* hired I have to learn how to do everything. I'm excited, nervous, etc.

My boyfriend isn't all that excited about the idea but he knows I'm desperate, financially. I told him "I want to do this and I want to be free to do what I want/need to, but I'm not going to sacrifice 'us' for it. So if I get hired and you get really sad/insecure/ uncomfortable with it, tell me and we will discuss it. I would quit before I would lose you, but I really need the money a job like this can provide." The clubs in Tucson are very high-contact, a lot of grinding and touching, although the guys at most clubs obey the "no touching the dancer- only she can touch you" law. If it were only stage dances or air dances he'd be fine with it, but basically he's been a patron and knows that the dancers make money in proportion to how much they rub their asses on the customers' cocks (through their pants). So I can understand his wariness. He's also trying to be supportive and tell me I look great, I'll make lots of money, etc.

I'm a lucky girl. I guess on Wednesday we'll see *how* lucky.

Not to be rude but since it seems that your current boyfriend already has a issue with you might becoming a dancer from my experience if you do become a dancer it's just going become a bigger issue as time goes on. Honestly very few men are able to deal with dating or being married to a dancer, especially like you said to make money in your region it's high contact.

I may have many faults, but being wrong ain't one of them.

thanks for the advice, your opinion is duly noted and i don't take it lightly. we'll see, and with any luck it'll all work out. i didn't take what you said as a rude comment. You're just being honest.

i don't think all boyfriends and dancers and relationships are the same. many may fail, but tons of the women on this site have partners so many must succeed also. my b.f. is very emotionally expressive and has some insecurities, but i hope that if we are open with each other it'll work out. i'm sure you've seen many people say that and fail so i don't blame you if you think me naive.

he said he was a bit worried i'd start hanging out with guys from the club and think that they are cooler than he, even though he knows it's not rational. Fears are not rational. We're mature and not super young (I'm 28 & he is 30, not some kids just out of high school with no life experience). Hopefully this gives us an advantage. But there's no way to know until I do it.

Also, I do not plan to hang out with customers after hours. Especially after reading this site for a while...it seems like it's important to keep your perspective about the job and not get an ego.

I'm looking for a job, not a new social life. I already did the drinking thing, the partying thing, and the drug addiction thing. I'm over it- I don't want to go out with club patrons, I want to make money to pay for library school. (Wouldn't it be cool to be a library school grad student and a dancer at the same time? The dichotomy is fun.) I hope that if I apply this attitude it will help me keep perspective. I would like to think of it as an acting job, if I get hired. Hopefully if I make it clear to my man then he can see it that way, too.

There's no way to know what will happen in life. The precautions we take are often geared toward the most obvious things that could go wrong and then the most unexpected situation arises, for which you are totally unprepared.

That's my defense/justification...what do you think? No, really, though- how have other people's relationships dealt with it when you start working and try to keep your old boyfriend? I plan to marry this man and he talks about kids, jobs, moving, marriage, etc. I'll give up the job before I give up the man, but I really think I can make it work.

This is all premature - right now I just want to get that call Wed. night!!! I am physically incapable of typing a short post or email. Sorry...

Congrats!! I knew you could do it! Before it was just an asshole manager. You've had the talent all along.

Now you've got to get me a job there!! :silly: No really, I need to get a job asap.

Was this at curves or td's?

hey hardkandee! i just sent you an email with more Tucson details. I didn't want to post all the details on the board- is that weird? anyway, I hope the manager does not flake on me. And as I said in the email I just sent, I will definitely help you out if I really do get to work there.

    Hey Kitten,

So you're a library science student also? Cool! I'm starting in the fall. I won't be able to start stripping until the end of the month, though (assuming I can get hired anywhere).

Yes! I'm stating school in the fall too- at the UofA. Is that too much info to give out on the web? I'm never sure about these things. Anyway, where are YOU? You're not in Tucson, are you? That's so cool!

I think it would be really funny to study library science by day and strip by night. Actually, though, all of my classes will be at night or online in the Fall and I'll probably dance during the daytime. Anyway, maybe when you get hired, you can carry a ruler to slap customers' wrists and say "shhhh!" provocatively, with your hair up in a bun.

What's your story? (If you want to take this convo off the msg board, PM me. I haven't been on SW long enough to know how people feel about this stuff, so forgive me if this thread is getting too off-topic.)

Forgive my ignorance, but I'm not sure what your response meant. Was it a good thing (librarians are sexy?) or a bad thing? I feel stupid for not understanding. Anyway, hope you're having a good day...

I apologize...I was having a moment. Yes, in general men have a tendency to be turned on by the hot student, hot teacher, and hot librarian look. I have seen a few dancers who had a studious look to them, and they wore glasses. Not everyone can pull that off. Jenna Jameson, for example, would not look any hotter if she wore glasses. Then again, she's never really done it for me. Regardless....the comment was positive. And yes...I'm having a fine day. A little work....a little Tanqueray n Tonic.....a little posting

Oh, good- I was hoping that was what you meant. See, I think it's sexy, too, in a way...librarian-stripper. It's just naughty for some reason.

This is extra naughty in a really wrong way: My friend is a stripper and a preschool teacher! A father of a kid in her class came in one night! They took one look at each other, he walked out, and she hid in the dressing room for 10 minutes to make sure he was gone.

Well, since you're all in suspense...they did NOT call me last night. So. I called the manager who I tried out for, and he was very nice on the phone. He said that his nighttime rotation is still full and he had not gotten to talk to the day manager yet, so he would talk to her today (Thursday). He said to call him after 6pm today.

He was very apologetic for not calling me, gave several reasons (excuses) and I said, "that's cool- I know you must be very busy when you're at the club so maybe it would be in my best interest to call YOU." He was super nice about it, and I wonder if he just forgot about me.

I still say the squeaky wheel gets the grease. So I will call this evening, and if they blow me off I will take my day off (tomorrow) and try a couple of other clubs. I just don't think he would keep bothering to be nice and string me along if he wanted to blow me off. But if this all depends on some day manager I have not met yet, I'm cautiously optimistic. Anyway, there are lots of other clubs out there, but we'll see what happens.

That's the "update"- no real news. You've all been so supportive and I'll write as soon as anything new happens... sad meow...

    Kitten1313,
If I were you I would try out a few clubs all at once , that way youll be sure to get hired at one. This way you are not wasting your time. You could be making money while waiting for other managers to make their decision.

Yeah, you're right. Eggs in one basket, etc. I was going to do that last week and then my AC console in my car got stolen when they ripped out my stereo. I didn't want to drive around in the HEAT with no AC (Last week it was 109 degrees here!) getting sweaty and trying to stay made-up and sexy. So I'm going to do that tomorrow on my day off now that my AC is up and running. I figure I'll just hit the other clubs and see what happens.

Thanks for the advice. I really hope something pans out by the fall when I'm in school! Do some clubs hire you and let you start on the spot?

Toronto is very different from most of what Ive read on here as far as clubs in the States. Downtown , you need a lisence . The airport clubs require no lisence, and yes they do hire on the spot. So long as you have proper ID. But you cannot compare that to where you live, like I said everything seems so different.
