Sounds like a multi-level marketing outfit, more interested with getting new "recruits" than originating loans.

I found some interesting chatter about NLC on a BBS.

Yeah, yeah. Be sure to give us peasants a call and rub it in when you've passed Bill Gates on the Forbes list.

Just because we don't want to just on the next get-rich-quick bandwagon, it doesn't mean we hate you. We are just smart enough to know that these programs aren't making the people who join rich.

You are very optimistic, and that's great, but I work very hard for my money and before I give it to anyone, I want to make sure it's a good investment. Don't be mad because I don't agree that this is a good investment. If you really cared, you explain why I was wrong, not go nuts on me.

Amazing. An outfit that pays more in commissions than it collects in fees (By a factor of 3 to 1). What would one expect from a "licensed" morgage lender which does not disclose its license number. ( a legal violation BTW) Also it's listing of interest rates and fees is in violation of Federal law because it does not capitalize both the points and the fees in the APR it publishes.

I would be most impressed if someone in Houston were to go to their office and take a picture of the front door. I will be dollars to donuts it is a mail drop since they list multiple addresses for their headquarters,

Emily, i just thought you were very negative . But i can understand you, what is risk for you is an opportunity for me. I do work hard for my money also, i work everynight from 11 pm till 6 am but not because i need money but because I know that working harder is going to give me better results.
I listen to a lot of motivational tapes, i read a lot of books, that motivate me. Maybe I hav too much excitement. many things I try ,a lot of people dont understand. Well i appreciate your opinion i probably read it with my emotional side.

Mounty Geek, its a commision business , duuh thats why it pays in commision. You cant just sit on your arse and wait till loans come in, you got to go around and find people. You dont need a license , mounty in this NLC business, they have licenses for you. Pointing a listing of interest rates, well i guess they are violatig the law, so how come its such a huge company?i am sure there some justice over thatt;-)

Honey that office has an adress;-) and I am there almost every day;-)

    Uh have good one;-)
if you need to make sure i can give you the telephone number .

She asked for comments. She got them.

This is a classic pyramid scheme that will sooner or later collapse under its own weight. When it does, far more people will be harmed than will profit.

This is exactly the reason that some of us feel obligated to point out the real risks and realities of the "questionable" financial opportunities you post about, for the benefit of young and perhaps financially naive dancers who might consider taking your posts at face value, investing in them, and then being left "holding the bag" after you have earned your own 'commission" from them.

If you want to take the risks of participating in such schemes, that's entirely your decision. However, when you post here about such schemes as if they were sound investment opportunities, in the apparent hopes of earning money for yourself from the naivete of other dancers you are touting these programs toward, it demands a response.

i didnt SAY EVERYBODY LETS DO IT! all i did is I posted about the opportunity.IF you dont want to take a risk thats fine with me. If you dont want to do it its fine with me too! Its Ameirica, so i am free to do what i want to do and that is why i share my experiences. So you are saying i might take advantage of young and naive dancers????????I think this is too much. Who am I to take advantage of other dancers?

I am really sorry i posted this. I ll keep life opportunities to myself from now on.
    THANKS YOU EVERYBODY.

Then you should not have had any problem with those of us who pointed out this is a pyramid scheme.

Its Ameirica, so i am free to do what i want to do and that is why i share my experiences.
In some states, and under federal law, pyramid schemes are illegal. So, no you are not free to do as you wish.

So you are saying i might take advantage of young and naive dancers????????
Whether you you tried to take advantage of others, or are yourself a victim, is as yet unknown. If I were you, I'd get out now that you know what you're in to.

I am really sorry i posted this. I ll keep life opportunities to myself from now on.
You should be thankful that you found out in time.

    THANKS YOU EVERYBODY.
You are most welcome. It's always nice to be able to help someone avoid trouble.

NYLA - I think that the people hear are just trying to tell you to be careful. Sometimes people can say things in a way that sounds kind of harsh. I think that's what happened here. Some people are really into technical stuff and might not realize that their response sounds harsh to someone who's not on that wavelength.
I have to agree with the other people in this post though. Please be careful and get out of it ASAP. I have known some really sharp and hardworking people who have been fooled by stuff just like this. Please don't let these people do that to you.
If you try to get your money back, they will probably give you a really hard time about it. If you just tell them that you want your $$ back immediately or you will call the Attorney General, they will probably give it back to you no questions asked.
    Good luck and be careful.
Most people prefer to believe their leaders are just and fair even in the face of evidence to the contrary, because once a citizen acknowledges that the government under which they live is lying and corrupt, the citizen has to choose what he or she will do about it. - M Rivero

yes maybe , it does sounds harsh. what money back ,i dont understand, no this is the company where i refinanced my house iand took out cash. all i was saying that i was doing my own loan, i processed it , and etc.i didnt need no license because in the beginning to become a loan orginator i had to invest 125.thats for the licenses. I just wanted people to check it out. But thank you for writing to me .;-)
It is just a business opportunity and they were expanding all over us.
thats about it. but anyways its all good .)have a good one

I am a mortgage broker, and I own a brokerage. There are many ways to do this. One of the best (what I do) is a "net branch" basically, you lease a licence from someone else. They hold liability, and you split profits. I make 90% (65% after state and admin fee's) I market, process, and close loans under they're licence, thereby protecting myself from liability and the initial license investment. You can open your own net branch for a few hundred $$. What you are doing is something a little different. If your main income is from recruiting instead of selling and closing loans, then it is a pyramid. If you are making money from the loans, and recruiting people to sell loans under you, and recieve a cut, well, thats ok. Every broker I know does the same thing. What you need to do is get proper training. The mortgage industry is cracking down, and with rates going up, you better know what you are doing. By the end of this year, over 60% of brokers will be out of business, because they cant hack it when the rates go up. It happens at the end of every refi-boom. If you want any info on net branches, or have questions PM me. I applaude your entreprenurial spirit, but you must investigate your opportunities thouroghly. Good luck.
