Just heard on the news that The Chicken Ranch is up for sale. The owner is aksing just under 7 million. That's a pretty good asking price IMHO. Sex will always sell !
A legal brothel sounds like a good investment to me![]()

The Daily Planet, a completely legal and famous brothel located in Melbourne, Australia (in the St. Kilda suburb actually), is a publicly traded corporation, so if you can't afford the price tag of the Chicken Ranch, you can still buy Daily Planet shares and be at least a partial owner of a really fine (take my word for it!) "house of ill repute".

"The Daily Planet"...what a great name for a brothel! Seriously, that's genious! If they aren't using this tagline yet, the should...

See

for info on the brothel itself, including a "virtual tour" and their online gift shop from which you can insignia merchandise.
There is also info on the Corporation etc for potential investors.
(Btw, I have no financial interest in the Daily Planet...just a satisfied customer.)

I can't recall whether or not they use that particular line; they might. I do remember that the receptionist answers the phone with, "This is the Daily Planet, Lois Lane speaking", and at least once when I called, she added, "Is this Superman?" And they employ some other cute little word plays on the name.Originally Posted by DancerWealth link=board=1;threadid=9940;start=msg119599#msg1195 99 date=1086718203
I told a young lady I spent some time with there that they should sell Viagra on the premisis as "kryptonite antidote", but she appeared to have no idea at all what I was talking about...too young to know the Superman mythology I guess.

I don't think that you are going to much like this answer, but it is a simple fact that many many women say much the same thing about stripping. And I have known a lot of providers (prostitutes) whose feelings about and attitudes twoard their work seem very similar to those of dancers about theirs, to the extent that I can judge. Furthermore, the upscale indies or agency/brothel providers I tend to see will sometimes make similar comments about streetwalkers.Originally Posted by Tragic-Beauty link=board=1;threadid=9940;start=msg119609#msg1196 09 date=1086720888
Given that society stigmatizes and looks down on all types of sex workers so much, it seems a sad irony to me that so many of the women in such "industries" do the same to each other along some hierarchy of perceived moral superiority.

I vaguely recall some sort of "Man of Steel" allusions/jokes in their advertising too.
It would be interesting to see how the stock has done since the IPO, now a few years back; it seems to be a well run place with clever management. The location is not ideal though, rather inconveniently located wrt the CBD, the big new casino, the major international hotel chains and so forth.

I have to agree here. Just like I'm not comfortable with high mileage but don't look down on girls who do (as long as that's the club standard and no one's undercutting other girls), I don't look down on prostitutes just because of their job. And no, I'm not at all comparing high-contact dancers to hookers, just making an abstract analogy.Originally Posted by Wwanderer link=board=1;threadid=9940;start=msg119614#msg1196 14 date=1086722221
I've met a few high-class escorts and asked them why don't they just dance and they respond that they have no problem having sex with a stranger for money, but the thought of getting in front of a crowd and dancing and having to hustle terrifies them. So there ya go, to each their own. I can't say that I've met any street prostitutes, but it seems that many "providers" have stories as varied as our own. Some do it to pay for school, some who treat it as a real business to pay a mortgage and invest with, others just for the drugs, others to have money to blow on fancy cars and clothes, some to support their kids and others who just love to have sex and want to get paid for it, even if a lot of the guys might not be that good-looking.
Since it's a legal business, I'd probably buy the Chicken Ranch it if I could, though I don't doubt that it can come with it's share of problems, even if they don't come from LE.

As I have mentioned elsewhere here, I have seen and known a lot of providres over the years, and I think you are 100% right on both counts.Originally Posted by NinaDaisy link=board=1;threadid=9940;start=msg119701#msg1197 01 date=1086734802
1 - I actually took a provider I'd been seeing for years to an upscale strip club once because she was curious about it. She kept saying that she didn't see how the dancers could have enough nerve and self-confidence to get up in the spotlight on stage and dance naked; she really thought it was amazing. I bought one of the dancers a drink, and the two of them got to talking...seemed to hit it off well. So, when the dancer was on stage, my provider friend wanted to tip her (as she saw some of the guys doing), so I gave her the money (a 1000 yen note, about $10) to do it, but she couldn't even get up the nerve to walk up to the stage and have everyone staring at her. Eventually she asked me to do it for her, and I did. Btw, I also got a private dance, medium contact, while my provider friend watched; she thought it was a lot closer to what she did for a living and thought that she would have no problem giving such personal/private dances. In other words, what you might call the public stage fright part of dancing was much more intimidating to her than sexual contact with strangers (for money).
2 - This may be another unpopular comment, but I have spent a lot of time talking to many different providers/prostitutes and to many different dancers/strippers, and as a group of people they seem very similar to me. If you got a bunch of dancers and a bunch of escorts together and let me (or anyone, imo) talk to them at length about anything and everything that did not directly reveal their occupations, I think it would be very tough to tell which women belonged to which group from any other information about their lives, financial motivations, ambitions, attitudes toward men and so forth.
