Default kind of an embrassing question...

This is kind of embrassing because i've never talked about it to anyone before, but i've got pimples over my chest and since i want to start dancing, i want to get rid of it. Can someone help me out with it before, I would really appericate it. Thank you so much!

It may be clogged pores from dirt, or it can be a rash of some sort...
Anyway, try using a body scrub, like Clean & Clear, or the Neutrogena one.
    Good luck!

at work use a antibacterial hand gel on your chest after every set of dances. I like bath and body works because it smells good and tastes terrible so it punishes those that steal a lick. but anything with a high alcohol content should work.

I didn't think about tanning, should I tan topless, I tried make-up and it doesnt' look very good, I think maybe because my makeup is a little bit darker for my face, maybe i should try a lighter color.

Salicylic Acid. Clean & Clear wash, make sure it's 2% SA and apply it like a mask (ie leave it for 10 mins or so before washing it off). Scrub lightly with your fingers, you should feel dead skin rubbing off (ew, I know). Give it two weeks, I swear this works so well.

Use this soap called Cetaphil....you can get it at any supermarket/drug store. Its great for what you are describing. When I was younger I had a similar thing on my back....all i did was start using that soap and it all cleared up. Its not medicated or anything...its just a safe pure soap with no additives.

Also....Bring little cleaner pads with you to wipe the area down occasionally when you are dancing especially if you are sweating.

Cetaphil is amazing. For my skin, anyway. I started off using it on my face and now use it everywhere!

I think, though, it would be a good idea for you to see a dermatologist! I have had consistent rashes and pimples in some areas even though I have great skin on my face. Turns out I am "atopic" and I got prescription moisturizer, cream for eczema, and tons of good advice from the Dr.

Don't see a regular Dr. - see a derm. The guy I saw was SO cool- he knew all of the great skin and makeup products. He also said that the cheaper the makeup, the better it is for you. (I consider that free license to buy all the Wet & Wild 99 cent lipsticks I want!)

Another point: if you have skin like mine it might trick you into thinking that you need to use a scrub. HOWever, the derm. told me to never use a scrub on my sking because it is so sensitive and thin, it is as though I were born pre-exfoliated. The little bumps I used to have on my arms and sometimes chest were not sebaceous pimples that would benefit from a scrub- they were irritation from using too many products and the cetaphil has helped me a lot. I only bring this up to point out that without seeing your skin in person it is hard to tell you what to use on it; and that a dermatologist is the best person to do so.

Good luck! (I hope you have insurance so you can see a dermatologist...it's hard to cope without insurance and if you can't see one, definitely try the advice you get from ladies on here who've had the same issues.)

For me personally, the more dairy I eat, the more my skin FREAKS out. If you can find it in yourself to give up (or reduce) dairy for a month and drink TONS of water, I mean so much water you feel full, I bet your skin will get better. Your skin is an organ which has to cleanse itself, and skin conditions have a lot to do with body toxicity, in my experience. Water, water, water!

I'd avoid putting makeup on it since it'll clog the pores more. Cetaphil works great or try that nuetrogena acne fighting body wash....good luck

This is all pretty good advice, but remember not to OVER-wash, since stripping too much of the natural oils from your skin will cause your sebaceous (oil-producing) glands to go into overdrive. So Cetaphil and a cream with 2% salcylic acid should do the trick.

The cetaphil works great, if you need to use lotion FOR ANY REASON, make sure that it has very little oil in it to. Avon makes some good stuff.

    Angelique,
You might want to try anything with tea tree oil too. It works really good for me (face wash). If you buy it as just the oil, not a soap, be careful. It stings a bit.

Be really careful about vigorous exfoliation on your chest, the skin is very sensitive and you could cause irritation, also rubbing alcohol is a very bad skin irritant. Rotate using HydrogenPeroxide as an astringent with a product that contains salicylic acid (they'll cancel eachother out if used together) Do not waste your money on cleansing products that contain benzol peroxide or salicylic acid because they aren't on the skin long enough to have any effect, just use something non irritating and fragrance free. If the problem is really bad see a dermatologist, Differin works pretty well on the body (back, arms, chest)
