Default stripping in the town you grew up in/seeing people you know you at the club?

im visiting relatives in AZ this month and i REALLY REALLY want to work because my savings is dwindling and im dying of boredome. the town i grew up in, Yuma (not very big), got a strip club a few years ago and im considering working there - but im worried about people who know me seeing me. like teachers and family friends, maybe some people i went to school with. people i might not recognize at first.

has this ever happened to you and what could i do if i end up in that situation?

the idea of getting caught is kind of exciting to me

I work a town away from the town I grew up in. I see people who know me but it doesnt happen that often. Ive had exs, school mates, neighbors, etc walk in and personally it doesnt bother me the slightest. My family knows but have the respect not to walk in there hahaha. I think that would be the only thing that would bother me. I guess it all depends on how comfortable you are with dancing being your job and how many people close to you know what you do. Good luck!

I've had an old school mate come in once. Infact, it was when I first started dancing. :cheesy: He was my 2nd customer infact! It was a lil awkward & I was a bit nervous, but after all... I didn't really mind. I don't believe I've ever bumped into anyone else I knew. I'm now working in my area (as to before I was crossing over state lines to work)... so, we'll see if I bump into more... Which I prolly will. I think it might actually be fun!

On several occasions I have had classmates, teachers, friends, and even relatives come into a club I worked at. I used to get sooooooooo embarrassed! ed: After this happened at least 10 times, it was no big deal anymore. So, now when someone I know comes in, I play Centerfold by J. Geils Band when I dance. I make sure to bend over right in front of him, and while looking throught my legs say "Don't I know you?" He gets embarrassed, and it gets a laugh. It also seems to break the tension.

I work at a club that is more than 50 miles from where I grew up, but nonetheless, I have seen people that I went to school with several times (it may also be because there's only 1 club that any closer). It's kind of weird at first, but it's always worked out for me, financially anyways.

As a former teacher I'd have to say it would be just fine with me to see a former student. In fact, if it was the right one, I'd buy a dance or two from her. One word of advice, though....don't start yelling "MR. JONES! MR. JONES!"

    there are two choices:

    1. if the club is small, keep a sharp eye out for anyone familiar, and plan on ducking and running for the dressing room or ladies bathroom to hide should anyone familiar appear.

    2. try as best as you can to forget about the possibility of someone you know seeing you

whatever you do, good luck and make money

the risk that you take when dancing close to home is not whether friends or family might see you performing on stage. If they do it's no big deal, as many others have already posted. The real risk is that an obsessive club customer may all too easily make the connection between your dancing persona and your real identity if he runs into you at WalMart or a restaurant or a doctor's office after having seen you several times in the club. This makes it all too easy for an obsessive customer to follow you home / discover where you live / discover details about your normal life, which has the potential for escalating into a nasty future incident.

If you're going to dance anywhere near your home town, I highly advise that you do NOT cultivate regular customers, that you do not make any arrangements whatsoever or even imply that you will meet customers outside of the club, etc.

When I had stopped dancing full time and was only w weekend dancer I had a job doing inside sales. Friday after work I headed up to the club. I was doing my first stage set, when I looked around and sitting to my left was my sales manager and 4 of the sales guys!!! OMG
I just about collapsed. I finished my set and went to their table and sat down. The had politly turned around for the rest of my set. Anyway it was laughed off and we were all good.

Shoot, all kinds of people have seen my nekkid. My old piercer, my uncle's brother, my UNCLE. Yep, it gets pretty weird. I would not approach these people for dances. Engross yourself with another customer. It sounds difficult, but keep your mind off of them.

If you get too uncomfortable, go home. No use mortifying yourself. Just get used to the idea because it will hapeen. Think, it's just SKIN, what is the big deal?

    Hey everyone,
I live in a semi-small town in FL. We have around 6 strip clubs. I have decided to start dancing at this one particular club in about 2 weeks. The problem is, my B/F"s boss goes in there all the time! At first I thought it might be really embarrassing, but them I realized that his boss has always had a crush on me. Do you think if he sees me there he will just tip me better, or start being obssesive,, and thinking he can get more from me? Anways, just a thought!

I understand BigGreenMnM - 5 daughters! Wow you must have alot on your hands there. I understand your comment... shes not even old enough to be in here. Too bad you have no way of checking IDs on the net.

Daphned - maybe you should rethink your appearance at work then. I know if the ladies looked like hookers at the club I work at then theyd get fired! --- Just a suggestion!

I was dancing at Oz on Bourbon St about 2 weeks ago for the first time, and had a guy from work (Abercrombie) come up and tip... then actually look at me ---- "Jeremy?!!!!" Of course, being that a full third of the guys who work with me are of that persuasion I really shouldn't have been that surprised. He agreed not to tell anybody back at work about the incident, but I wouldn't be surprised if a few more guys I know pop up now... It's only embarassing for a second, then you think - hey - it doesn't really matter all that much... they're my friends, they should be good for a few bucks!

Recently at a club here in San Juan I had the urge and went to the bathroom. When I got in I saw a cousin of mine chatting with some other guys. I pretended not to know him (we're not close anyways) and peed. Then when I walked towards the stage I passed him as if he wasn't there. As I sat in pervert row and tipped I did a quick glance to where he was sitting and noticed that he was looking at me. I don't recall seeing him leave or go upstairs to the VIP room. Heck, I shouldn't worry though because I'm sure he wouldn't want to have people find out he has the same pasttime as me
