Hey Darkness before you open your mouth too BIG im going to help you shut it! I've been working at the same club for almost 5 years and for 3 of those years I have been the DJ's girlfriend mind you that I work with a 100-150 girls a night and have never had a problem! He treats me like a princess! The only problem I have ever had is catty girls like you running their mouths to customers and the majority of the time they don't even care! I'm not there to be picked up for a date anyways I'm there to dance and create a fantasy! So not everyone is a hypocrite like you!

I think he makes a little more than 8 dollars an hour! $5-$10 a girl if not more! 100-150 girls! you do the math! He works off tips just like all of us girls!

I think both of you need a "time out".
Based just on what I've seen, it's generally not a good
idea for dancers to get involved with: the owner; the mgr.; the DJ or the bouncers. It's generally NOT a good
idea to mix romance and the workplace. It creates
more problems and potential problems than it's
usually worth and arguably it's unprofessional on both sides.
If you're dating the owner or the mgr. the other dancers will automatically assume you're getting
better treatment than they are even if there's an
attempt to remain objective and even-handed.
If you're involved with the DJ or a bouncer; at the
very least it's fodder for the gossip mill.
Do I know of any such relationships that worked out ?
Yes, but far more often both sides came to regret getting involved.

i haven't read the replies, but im guessing its because most of the dj's are straight men and they like pussy. and, at the sc, you can see exactly what youd be slamming before you bring her home. seems win-win to me. surrounded by pussy, and you get a preview. why not? oh, and to those on the other thread who think im darkness (afx n sitri), no i haven't created a female user name YET.

Most couples I know have met either thru workplaces or friends... What makes a strip club any different? I say if they can keep it on a professional level at work and keep the two areas separate.. go for it.

And how about all the times when it does NOT work out
and all the drama it generates ? How many dancers had
to give up a good gig at a good club when it all fell apart? I always thought the primary reason for being
there was to make money; not to look for Mr. Right.

Yeah, I was gonna say woo-hoo a dj in a club with 100-150 girls! He's making more than half the girls.

Oh, to answer your question darkness, maybe because he spends alot of time at work and strippers are the majority of girls he meets. Maybe civilian chicks wouldn't be so "understanding" of his job where he has to watch naked/half naked women prance around.

What Sapphire said, didn't we already establish it is difficult for people in the industry to find romance outside of it? It is already an ostracized [sp?] job, no matter which one [dancing, DJing, etc] that it seems OBVIOUS to me that you'd have inter-employee dating. Not that I agree with it, as The Kid pointed out it results in a lot of fodder for the gossip mill AND in many clubs DJs have minor "power" over the dancers, ie, if you tip high enough you get YOUR songs played only for you and they'll help you out more on introductions and things like that. So it can create an unfair situation.

Blade, do you DJ at the same club Deanna dances at? I've always wondered.

But anyway, yeah, I'm sure there are some guys that are like "excellent, I get paid to play music all night and see naked women - go me! and I bet if I play my cards right I can be banging them too!" big deal, guys do that at any place of employment with attractive employees.

It happens, sometimes people meet people at work, they fall in love, the rest is history. However, the fact, in this case, it is involving a dj and a dancer is irrelevant.
Besides, from a dj's perspective, where else can a man see a totally hot woman naked and get to initiate conversation. So what if they get into a relationship? Good for them!

    Yep I sure do....
In fact since we got into this industry, we have always seemed to work together

I envy you that, Blade. I have only been able to work with my girl twice, when she first came to visit me in Florida, in a lousy club. We had a lot of fun with it, but it wasn't what I would have wanted for her.

Now the situation in Detroit is not good for DJs, there is a gigantic crackdown on SCs here, so it's not going to happen soon. I would love to work with her in her present club, it is the kind of place I love--a medium sized place that is having trouble, perfect to start from scratch and kick some ass in--but it is a family-run place and the DJ is good friends with the manager. Which is too bad because he sucks, in spite of 20 years experience.

The guy has taken three months to figure out that he should be playing Rob Zombie instead of Staind and the worst, slowest Nickelback for her, probably because he has spent the time hitting on her instead of doing his job. Some DJs are actually pretty bad about this.

What I find amusing is the cocky attitude some of them get about their reputation with women, being so often stupid, ugly, and devoid of any talent whatsoever--other than shrieking into the mike and playing the wrong music. In the outside world a lot of these guys would never get laid, much less by the kind of women in the club. And it is almost invariably the kind of DJ who is on a power trip who develops this attitude as well.

It is in general a bad idea to date fellow employees, but I have never yet seen a SC manager who could control himself, so it shouldn't be too surprising that the DJs should want to play too. The one thing that can be said for it is that the DJs at least have an idea what it is like to be a dancer, something your average guy generally just can't quite get. And of course the ostracism is not a problem in this situation, as Luna Maiden pointed out.

It can sometimes work out pretty well, as in Blade's case, but then he is an exceptional DJ. I have worked with dancers I slept with, and twice it caused severe trouble due to the managers (actually once it was the manager's girlfriend, who HATED me afterwards), because they wanted the dancer themselves. No one else seemed to care, but it is a situation which requires discretion and restraint, to say the least.

so whats your point? thats how everyone is... if i was a guy surrounded by hot ladies everyday you better believe i would be keeping my eye on a gal or two.. so what? If they wanna pick up the girl let them who the fuck cares.. thats their business.. if they try to pick me up we.. it just doesent happen because i let them know im uninterested soon as i notice someone into me.. as do many of the other dancers that dont want a date.

Blade I think thats awsome! Ive made the mistake of dating people I work with and for me its not the best option. I totally stay clear of customers, bouncers and Djs as far as dating goes. Although I have some what of a crush on our current Dj but its not something I would act on. Just not the best choice for me. Im glad that others have met in the SC environment and are still together like Blade but from what Ive seen most couples dont hold it together but then again you can also say that about couples outside the business. I dont see anything wrong with employees hooking up at clubs but I hope that it wont affect you or the club if it goes downhill.
