Default Glue in hair extensions!!!

Woo! So, today from 10a - 2:30p I was at the hair salon. I got glue in hair extensions! They're lovely. They look soooo real. Normally my hair is just barely touching my shoulders... now it's to the middle of my back. The extensions match sooo well, nobody has been able to tell. Loads of compliments... they only cost me $200. I'm going to post pix as soon as I can! The only bad thing... I can only wash my hair once a week... I have to air dry my hair (I can get it damp & put a lil conditioner on tips)... and it only lasts for a month, if I take good care.

***pix coming soon***

I have had mine doen before too, and I loved them. But did they tell you if they start coming loose, you have to go back in and get them "touched-up"? That usually costs around $50 too. But if you have a Sally beauty supply and a good friend you can touch them up for around $5. You go to Sally and get the hair glue, and just put a little on the pieces that are coming up. When I say a little I mean just a little. Take a q-tip, and put a little )just enough to cover the side of the tip) and put the glue on the "track" then press down and hold it for a few seconds. Then you should be good for a while. Did they tell you how to take them out too? If not and you don't want to spend the cash on the hair dresser doing it, e-mail me and I'll be more than happy to help.
Oh, and congrats on liking them so much!

Hahaha, , I'm so pissed off! I don't have my extensions anymore. They lasted a lil under two weeks!? I didn't even get pix cos I didn't get time to visit my parents house. ERRR...$200 down the drain! It only looked good the first day, then it was horrible to keep up,... I think it might have to do with the fact of type of hair she put in. Plus, the girls I work with took out my tracks - and they said whoever did them fucked them up. With the glue / placing / etc. Argh! Ho hum, I plan on getting some sew in extensions. Then, I can treat them just like normal hair ... I would get individual bonding , but that costs $1500-$2000!!! :o Ho hum, lessoned learned.

If you're not wanting to yank the things out in a few weeks....

If you want long hair to be more of a permanant thing that you'll keep for years....

Depending on which strand-by-strand method you choose..... IT'S WORTH IT.

I have the track and sew hair extensions. I have two rows with double the hair. It also costs $200. I get them redone about every 6 weeks. I can wash my hair daily but I usually do it every other day. I was told the glue hair extensions can ruin your hair because when they are removed some of the glue remains in your hair and can cause it to fall out. The track and sew method is also non-detectable because I use the thin weft hair extensions. I guess any method of hair extensions can cause damage. Ive been getting these extensions for more than two years,,,I wouldnt go without them,,,they are the Best!!

One of the girls I work with had her tracks sewn in and she said they left a big round spot on the top of her head uncovered. But I think she just had a bad job done. I wanted to get the sew in ones, but I'm scared that the will pull the braids too tight and cause some of my real hair to fall out. I haven't heard about the individual bonding, but I also live in the Bible belt, so in 2 more yrs we will have it, LOL. I personally love the glue in ones, it's easy to do and I can take em out if I wanna. My hubby does mine, he's the only one I would trust to do it though. Some of the "hair dressers" around here that specialize in extentions are rude, and very racist about doing white girls' hair. They think I am trying to steal their men or something. I finally told them I want them for work and work only, but they still are kinda rude. But, oh well. That's why my hubby does them.

My girlfriend has the individual bonding and her extensions shed sooo much!! They look really natural and nice, but her problem with the hair shedding is horrible. I also heard that if the polymer(glue) if not removed totally can make your hair fall out as well. I guess everyone has a different experience with their hair extensions!

Chicagobabe-
I love your hair!!! It looks so natural. I'm in Chicago too. Please tell me where you get your hair done. It looks fabulous. I've been trying to find a place for a long time. Does your natural hair get damaged?
