Default Pre-Cooked Chicken Breasts?

I'm a terrible cook and extremely lazy. A friend of mine suggested the pre-marinated and pre-cooked chicken breasts that are sold at the grocery stores. Has anyone tried them?

I'm thinking they can't be that good for you...all the preservatives and what not??? Any ideas on this?

well, it's gotta be better than Jack in the Box or not eating at all. I've bought the Louis Rich pre cooked breast strips. The kind you can just add to your salad. I thought they were pretty good myself.

I've had the Foster Farms Brand.. to put over salad when I am in a hurry and don't have time to fix the breasts myself and they are pretty good.. I still prefer to make them myself though..

I do know that they're pretty damn expensive. Your almost better off eating at a healthy restaurant. You can usually call ahead and order to go.

I'm a good cook but I hate cleaning up...but I do it. I guess my real problem is that uncooked food grosses me out. I can't tell you how many times I've cooked a chicken breast only to throw it out because cooking it made me sick to my stomach. Bleh.

Never tried them before, but I kinda agree with you uncooked chicken is gross, but thank GOD I have a dear hubby to cook! I have read some of your post before Miss Taylor, and I have to stand back and augh so much, if you PM me I'll tell you why. It's not bad but it is funny, and not somethingI really want to share with everyone.

The George Foreman Grill of course, does make grilling meat very easy.

LOL! Are you kidding me, I practically live on this stuff. Everytime there's a sale, I stock up on these things and throw them in the freezer (all the "flavors" except for Cilantro Lime...not sure what it is about that one that I didn't like). I used to cook them on my George Foreman grill, but then I got really lazy and decided to just throw them in the oven for 20 minutes.

As for "health" concerns...well, we've run into each other a couple of times...do I look like the kind of guy who worries about what is good to eat or not? If it tastes good...well that's all that matters to me...my doctor might feel differently, of course.

You might what to check the sodium. Precooked chicken breast tend to be loaded with salt. I tend to blow up with alot of added salt. What I do....I buy the fresh chicken breast...then on Sunday...I cook about 7breast and store them in the fridge.......reheat and add a side of veggies.....and the meal is served...just a suggestion

They're good for an every once in a while meal. But, start making ALL of your food for the week on Sunday (or some other day). Buy up the Glad containers (or some like it), cook all of your food in bulk, store it in the fridge and freezer and then you don't have to worry about cooking during the busy parts of the week, just grab and go.

Cilantro lime are the bomb aggied! HEB brand...sometimes they have them onsale for $1.99. But you still have to cook them.

I have a George Foreman grill that cooks one piece at a time only....less cleanup, and I can't cook too much....or I'll eat it all right away, hehe!

LOL! Fine...maybe we should all get together for a GF Grill Feast! Ha ha...

Anyway, I've been eating this type of chicken for a long time...at least since my days in college (uh, that would be at least 10 years now...damn time flies). It's good stuff, IMO. Cilantro lime though...blah! Everything else...mmmm.
