Tough spot. Actually i forget this one, i wanna say delete your cookies but that wouldn't do it...

Has to do with your web browser, rather than your PC.

Download a copy of System Mechanic and run it, that should do the trick.

get the 30 day trial and either crack it or just update and run it.

If you're running Windows XP, just go to:
Start Menu, Control Panel, Network and Internet Connections

Go to Internet Options, the Content Tab, Auto Complete and uncheck "Use AutoComplete For: Web Addresses"

See pic below for 1, 2, 3 steps.

    Cheers

The above tip will prevent past URL's from automatically popping up when you start typing in URL's.

If this is more of a security matter and you just want it to stop storing them completely (i.e. a good computer geek can go through and dig your history of URL's even though they dont pop up in the URL bar anymore):

The same screen, but on the General Tab. Set History to 0 days, and then hit the Clear button. Again, see pic for the two settings.

Venus....just hit the "Print Screen" Button....

Then go to a program like Microsoft Paint....and then hit "paste"

It should paste the screenshot into the program....then feel free to edit/save the picture as you please

Tee hee.. AinNY's got the idea.

Hitting the PrintScreen key captures the entire desktop to the Windows copy buffer.
Alt + PrintScreen captures only the current active window to the Windows copy buffer.

Then just open up Paint, Photoshop or any other graphics program and PASTE into a blank edit space. Viola, instant screen captures.

Hold down ALT and hit PRINT SCREEN, that puts the window (top) in your clipboard, then paste into Word, Photoshop, etc

For MAC users...its star-shift-3 to grab the whole screen, star shift 4 to grab a part of the screen (you get a selection arm

clear your history and the old URLs go away

yuppers...the easiest way is to just clear the history. Or you can get downloads like "all in one secret maker" on cnet.com (free) that will stop pop up, hide banners, delete cookies, and hide web addresses. It's a handy little thing. You need to tweak it a bit to make it suit your needs (especially the pop up blocker and cookie eraser) but once you get the hang of it, it's great.

    As far as screenshots go...

    Snagit works, as does PSP.

Another handy hint. URL's that you access thru Yahoo or Google do NOT show up in your history. In case you're trying to hide your surfing habits.

Polecat: You done support for Gateway or Dell ? The technique is similar.

Maybe I'm reading your post wrong, but I just go to the tools menu on the top of the screen, scroll down to internet options, and then click on clear history, delete cookies, and delete files. That way, it totally clears out the history so it can't be looked up. Anyone else agree?

Yes Jenna, Internet Properties (or Options ... depending on operating system) is the same no matter how you get there. (and there are many ways to get there)

To Completely clear your history go into the windows folder on your Main Drive (usually C) and manually clear all the temp folders as well. Also manually clear the cookies folder as some will not auto-delete.

    Mojojojo's morning habits:
    1. Wake up too damn early.
    2. Start the coffee pot.
    3. Step outside for a cigarette (I don't smoke in the house)
    4. Do a little surfing...read who I've pissed off on SW.
    5. Step outside for another cigarette (repeat as necessary)
    6. Go take a.... WHOA....COFFEE...LOWER INTENSTINE....
    7. Go take a shower.
    8. Iron some clothes (open dryer...throw 'em in for a few minutes)
    9. More coffee....more nicotine....
    10. Delete browser history and delete all cookies before taking laptop to work because I work with a bunch of stuffy conservative spazzoid lamers.
