Default Specials your club runs?...(Customer Enticements)

    Hello All,

I'm looking for creative ways that the clubs you work at draw in customers (aside from beautiful girls and great music).
Drink specials (like "Sinful Sundays - 1 Penny Pitchers"), special dance promos ("2-4-1 Wednesdays"), events/gimmicks (orgasm contests), special equipment (poles, ropes, swings, spinners, hot tubs, showers, etc.).
Anything that you think is really creative and works well to get people into the club...Hot Tub Specials, Bring a Buddy for Free specials...
Just curious how other clubs around the country entice their clientele and what seems to be a winner where you are from.

    Thanks,

    Vegas

from a dancer's point of view, drink specials suck...the guys they bring in don't buy dances.

well let's see...the club I go to gives a free lap dance with the dancer of your choice when you pay the $10 cover on Mondays and Tuesdays, Couples Thursdays, Free-for-all Friday (all the girls are brought on stage at once and when someone in the audience taps them for a 2-for-1 dance, they leave the stage), Amateur Night on the first Monday of each month, and feature dancers (Aspen Reign will be here July 15-17). Pretty run-of-the-mill stuff if you ask me!

Equipment is cool. A "bachelor cage" with torture toys and a bar inside of it were very popular at a local club.

Please no cattle calls, t-shirt promos, or extended 2 4 1 types specials. They really cheapen the atmosphere.

I like it when the DJ periodically calls out drink specials, like $3 any drink, for 2 songs. That way, its not only the cheapos in there.....

    Theme nights are cool too.....

Couples night....well, in the right club, I would enjoy that quite a bit...

    Prizes are extremely cool novelties.

I've seen clubs that let you throw a dart at a wall of balloons with every lapdance, and some of the balloons contain a card with a prize on them. Stupid stuff like beach towels, cheapo beach chairs, sunglasses, hats, etc.etc. All cheap giftshop items but still a novel idea.

Drink specials or bargain NIGHTS (as in the entire night) do usually bring in a ton of traffic, but they do seem to attract the cheapskates. I'd be interested to hear from dancers that work $1 drink nights, or free-cover charge nights how their effort:earnings ratio differs compared to normal nights. So far, out here the majority I know say it's 2x the work for the same kind of pull in... and doesn't really have a big impact on these customers becoming repeats (except maybe for the next el-cheapo promo night to be equally a tightwad).

I'm with Kat on the no cattle calls/t-shirts or other promos. Dancers should be selling dances, not Star Wars lunch boxes. Cattle calls are also the most retarded thing I've ever heard of- talk about breaking any kind of momentum a dancer may be riding at any given time.. just so they can be paraded around on stage. Don't mess with the MOJO!

Im trying to get my club to do a sleepover theme, have girls in different types of pj's all night, and a big feature at the peak hour of girls on white panties having a big feather pillow fight. Last time i talked to the owner he seemed to like it, but i haven't heard back.

I guess the "special" my club has going every day of the week is a no-cover charge. Monday & Tuesday are $5 Miller pitchers, Wednesday is $6 Margarita's or Lemonade/Vodka pitchers.

We also do bus trips to Sox & Cubs games... Which includes the bus ride to the game, keg drinks on the bus, tickets to the game, & us girls along for company.

Our "cattle-calls" we do are... "Lady's Choice" - we just pick a guy & take them back there cos "we like them". Dollar dances, but I think every club does this dumb thing... Roll call at the start of a shift...

    I think that's about it.

I kind of like the idea of a theme night (like a 70's or 80's night), but most club promotions are downright idiotic. Try going to a club on a night when they're running a dance special for half of what the normal price is and watch how the dancers get rather silly with their math.

    "Would you like a 2-for-1? It's only $30."
    "Aren't the dances normally $20."
    "Uhh, yeah, what's your point?"

And as fraudulent as that is, I can't really blame the gals for doing it. Discounts on dances should be offered to frequent flyers, not people who just happen to show up on the right night.

Promotions should follow the K.I.S.S. rule --> Keep It Simple Stupid. No promotional merchandise please. Where the hell are the guys going to wear a strip club T-shirt or hat in the outside world? to church? to the city council Meeting? their kid's piano recital? I mean come on.

Some of the lame stuff that I've seen tried.

Oil Wrestling Night - The club just pushed all the tables to the perimeter of the room and layed a mat on the floor. When they asked for sponsors to oil down the girls, no one would bite. The girls couldn't wrestle either. It was like watching two water weinies squiggle with one another.

Panty Auction - The club made a dancer put on a fresh thong with the club logo on it and made them dance on stage. They started the bidding at $50.00, then lowered it to $40.00, then $25.00. No one bought. Apparently they don't understand that most customers aren't into that sort of thing, and the ones who are would probably prefer something used from the girl of their choice.

Lap Dance Raffle - A gal got on stage with a bunch of double roll tickets, and DJ announced that customers could buy the tickets for $1 a pop. They gave a few free tickets away before this started, that way it couldn't be technically considered a lottery. If the ticket with your number was drawn out of the jar, you got a free tableside dance (value $10) from the gal on stage. I was bored, so I bought one ticket. Some dumbass at the table next to me won. He bought twelve tickets.

Promote well...keep your club clean, keep your dancers and floor guys honest. Have a DJ that brings a lot of energy to your club. If you treat your employees/IC's with respect and courtesy, then they will make it a place that people want to patronize.

The t-shirt give-aways, etc are a joke. I hate them...in fact, I refuse to work on any night that they have those. I cannot tell you how many times, I was banking and had to stop the flow to go get a t-shirt/lighter/mouse pad/baseball cap, parade my ass on stage, and then try to find someone to do a 2-4-1. There's no way that you can hide, either...they'll just call out your name...it's a losing situation. Besides, then I would have to sell the dance for $20, but had to pay $10 for the item. So, I am only making $10...where's the incentive for me?? If you are going to insist on cattle calls, then make sure that you tell any girl that is making money to not stop what she is doing. The girls that want to do the cattle calls can...although, you'll find the 98% of your girls will blow it off.

Fifty cent drings for five minutes at midnight on wednesdays.

Occasional two for ones or free t-shirt with a dance for ten minutes when no one's buying.

Bus's to and from concerts with after concert parties at the club.

    Amateur nights.

Birthday parties - for the girls, the staff, the customers, damn, it seems like it's always somebody's birthday.

I found this posted on SCL for the clubs.
It is a little confusing, I don 't know if you have to be at the club every Fri. night till the drawing or just the night of the drawing.

I was a patron of one of the clubs, till the manager chewed out my ATF for spending to much time with me, that was the end of JAN.
I have not been back, so I can't give any inside info.

I've worked at a club that has 5 dollar dances on Tuesdays. Talk about sucking. Some girls are really great at pulling in 600 on these nights but I could never do it....

I have actually witnessed some very successful panty auctions. At the club I worked at, the guys (particularly when drunk) would get very competitive trying to outbid each other. It wasn't that they wanted the panties, per se, they just wanted to "win."

My club chain does like 1-4, 2-4-1's a nite depending on customers. And we do "dollar dances" called ladies choice, its terrible. The good thing about it is if a girl is sitting with a guy all nite and you want to talk with him you can bounce around the room and dance for 30 sec of a song and show him what you've got. we have 15$ margarita pitchers on thursdays, t-shirt tuesdays- in free wearing one of our t-shirts, wed is hawiian shirt nite and also the nite of our ameture bathing suit contest, fri and sat we have in house features, sunday is champagne sunday and members monday- your a member you get in free... you get the idea.

my old club didn't really have "special nights" But EVERY night thye would either have a shower show or a spa show, the spa would rise out of stage, and the shower was at the front of the stage they would set it up, you know and 3 songs were played, that was really popular, also he started doing laser shows, was really kewl, he even dressed girls up in black suits that had mirrors on it to reflect the lasers, the shows were a trip!!

Overall, I prefer a club to not run specials but instead have things like theme nights to draw customers.

However, I've done the 30 sec dollar dance thing and that's not too bad if the club has alot of slow spenders in the room as it gets them to finally part with their cash and then they usually leave and make room for real (spending) customers and after a dollar dance set I'd end up with $40- $50 in less than 10 mins.

I have also done 2/4/1's and as long as the songs are basically cut to where two songs ends up being more like a longer single song I don't mind those too much either.

What I really dislike is selling things like T-shirts along with a dance. It never works out in the dancers favor and customers don't seem to care for it either. Most don't want to the shirt or whatever the club is selling anyway. And if the dancer has to buy the item before the special begins well that's grounds to walk out and find a new club in my book.

I hate the 2-4-1's as well, but sometimes the guys are just zoning out.
Any other ideas to get the guys into the club, or get the guys in the club to spend more of their money?

My club does not have any cattle calls, dollars dances, 2 for 1's, or features. I used to think this was a terrible thing until I went across the street to hang out at another club and watched them do cattle calls EVERY HOUR :o, followed by dollar dances, and 2 for 1's, and they have a feature like every other week. Not to mention that their DJ talks through every song , often causing customers to leave.
Our club doesnt advertise on the radio, magazines, billboards, nothing. Our customer base is from word of mouth. No busts in the 13 years it has been open...
BTW, why the hell would you ask girls to participate in something called a cattle call anywho? ???

that's so important. i mean...ads never bring in the right kind of customers (the paying kind). the radio stations, magazines, etc that the good customers pay attention to aren't the kind that accept ads for strip clubs anyways. a good snazzy club name and facade should be all the advertisement a club does. if the club and the girls are good, the customers will advertise for you.

Word of mouth is usually the best way for a club to gather new business unless it is a brand new club opening then you have to get the word out that you are there and available

I personally live in vegas and have managed adult clubs for many years and am considering opening one here myself that had closed down

Vegas_DJ do you know where Thongs is on industrial right off of 15 almost right across from the Mandalay Bay?

I have driven by there and keep thinking that would be a great place for a club and wonder why it closed any info?

People don't pay attention to radio ads. They simply punch up another station. This is why satellite radio is so big with credit card owners now: NO ADS!

Promote well...keep your club clean, keep your dancers and floor guys honest. Have a DJ that brings a lot of energy to your club. If you treat your employees/IC's with respect and courtesy, then they will make it a place that people want to patronize.
Professionalism sells! If the dancers are happy to work at the club then people will want to frequent it knowing that they won't be surrounded by negative dancers. DJ or an MC... either way... have them talking clearly but not too much and not too little either.. they should help create the atmosphere not take away from it. Also a clean, well maintained club that looks new every night you work there.... dancers and patrons will return to due to not feeling like they are in a seedy joint.

As for specials... I actually don't mind the lap dance raffle idea except that you allow the patron to choose the dancer he wants and make it a basic lap dance. The club then pays the dancer for that lap dance she's doing ... so the dancer wins by actually getting some $$ and she has the potential of having the guy maybe continue the lap dance (more $$).

Also, if your club is full nude.. have a moment once every night or only on the busy nights where each dancer who is currently not in a lap dance (I'll repeat: dancers who are not currently in a lap dance) does one of two things:

Either dances around for 3 songs in a bikini with the bar's logo/name on it (dancers can buy these as they are legitmate tax deductions - they can also sell them if they are leaving) gradually removing until fully nude over 3 songs
    OR
Finding a patron and give him a 30 second lap dance for a tip over a specified time period

Also have the option of people to buy funny money but not make it compulsory for it to be used. Also, when they do buy funny money offer then deals... buy $30 in club dollars and get $5 for free! The dancers can then cash these dollars in at the end of every night and use them as a way to pay their stage fees and tip-outs.

Encourage those house dancers who would like to do a show on stage but not necessarily become a feature. Offer an incentive: do a show and you don't have to pay a fee or pay them in club dollars for the show.

Ladies or Couples Night... a night when the club is ladies only or couples only.. even with female dancers.

Allow women in for free. Some people say this is sexist but if you get the right female in the place.. they can help liven up the atmosphere.

Don't really bother about drinks specials - just offer reasonably priced drinks.

NO MERCHANDISE please! Offer it however don't get the dancer's to parade around in it or anything of the sort.

    Members Only special and nights.

Alot of the above have or are been done.. there really is nothing original anymore as far as promoting a strip club goes. In the end, it is word of mouth that will keep the coming or coming back.

The most important thing is to be sure that you don't have any fat ugly dancers. If all of your dancers are good looking then you will have a great work environment. Fat ugly dancers ruin it for everyone. They will try to bully out any competition and they tend to do extras and charge way less for way more.
I also think that it is important to have all dancers take a class on dancer ettiquete. That is what Jaguars used to do before the political scandal. It was a great place to work back in those days. We were also told that our nails had to be done, as well as our hair and our makeup. No granola girls, no fat chicks and no tatoos. Customers will flock to a club that has very high standards for hiring dancers. The dancers will be top notch because they won't have to compete with cheap hookers and they will be fired for backstabbing or bullying.
The top clubs will fire dancers who charge half price for dances and they will fire dancers who approach a customer while he is with another dancer.
Even now that things are way more relaxed at Jaguars than they used to be they still have signs in the dressing room that say NO ONE OWNS A CUSTOMER. A customer is a customer of the club and has the right to buy dances from as many dancers as he wants to.
If you have good looking dancers with good manners, you will have lots of business. Most importantly don't allow pimps to loiter in the club. They are very bad for business.
Also don't force dancers to wear those stupid 6" stripper shoes or long evening gowns. They suck!
Another thing that I have noticed is that guys don't want to hear slow sappy love songs. How boring. It's pretty difficult to have a festive party atmosphere with some slow, sappy, depressing R&B in the background.
Most people prefer to believe their leaders are just and fair even in the face of evidence to the contrary, because once a citizen acknowledges that the government under which they live is lying and corrupt, the citizen has to choose what he or she will do about it. - M Rivero

    Viper,

My DJ name is Vegas, but I'm actually in Phoenix.
I wanted to to have "Vegas" or "DJ Vegas" as my ID, but they were both already taken. Not wanting to spend too much time thinking up a "slick" name, I just decided to be done with it and reverse what I had originally wanted.

So, to answer your question, no I don't know which club you are referring to, however when I'm there next month, if I'm in that area, I'll scope out the location.

BTW, since you are up there and in the business, which clubs should I hit to see a good overview of the better clubs in Vegas?....OG and Sapphires are definites, but any others you could recommend for being really good (well run, fun, beautiful girls, etc.)?

    Thanks,

    Justin
