Default Potbelly gettin on my damn nerves!!!!

What should I do to get rid of it??? I work hard on it but it never goes away. I'm thinking saving up a lil bit at a time to get lipo. Anyone ever do that area??
It is not really big...but I'm becoming obsessed.

I too, have one. At first, I thought the thread was referring to a sandwich chain around here. I'm very lazy, but one thing I always try to do, is keep my stomach sucked in (isometrics, muscles contracting). I know there's more to be done (for me) but its a start. I also contract my butt muscles.

Potbellies are a result of high fats/high refined carbs in your diet. Work on your diet before you do anything else...more cardio, etc.

    Good luck!

try getting a colonic, some people have as much as 15 pounds of rotting, undigested food in their intestines. I lost about 7 pounds after a colonic and I felt on top of the fucking world. My skin also began to radiate, my heartburn ceased, my eyes became real bright, and my digestion improved 10 fold.

a colonic really does that for you? Do you have to go to a specialist or does your reg. Dr. do it for you?

do more cardio.... watch what you eat low fat, more protein, less refined carbs and sugar.... increase water intake... take a multivitamin... give it about 1-2 months and if then if you still have a potbelly after really working out and eating good then go the cosmetic surgery route...

oh yeah, colonics are the shit - literally. you will feel like & look like a new person. I got the number for the one I went to from my local health food store, they also have them in the phonebook. My girl has had them too and has experienced even more results. It's best to do like 3 or 4 spaced a week apart then do like 2 a year. It's like a shower for your insides, gets all the garbage out...

there's no medical research suggesting that colonics can benefit your health. it's one of those things could help one person could harm another. colonics can spread infection from contaminated equipment. Plus the role of your intestines is to absorb minerals, frequent colonics can cause mineral deficiencies. Even worse the administrator of the colonic can accidently perforate your intestine.

If colonics are a bit extreme for you, eating a bowl of fiber rich cereal everyday will do the trick(i.e.Shredded Wheat).Staying regular helps with weight loss and maintenance and cardio exercise will further improve the results.

I was just stating my personal experiences with colonics. I am sure there have been problems like anyting (people die from drinking too much water) but I know several people who have used colonics and have had some amazing health transformations. Out of curiosity Muyaha have you ever had a colonic, becasue you seem very against them?

BTW, Dr Norman Walker had colonics done on an almost weekly basis and lived to be 119 years old.....

Do a yahoo search about him, he was the one who made colonics popular in the usa. He cured thousands of patients suffering from every disease by putting them on a diet of sunshine, swimming in the ocean, colonics and fresh green vegetable juice.

He also invented the most popular professional juicer of all time, the NORWALK.

Actually getting somewhat a little personal, for a while I was dancing up northern california supplementing my "day job" income of RN for the gastroenterology department at Stanford. Time after time I saw numerous patients with complications from colonics that were wrongly administered by someone who was playing doctor. In some states you can do colonics without licensing. I know in Florida if you have your massage techician certification you can easily get a certification for colonic irrigation along with just a 2 hr. course on prevention of medical errors. I know in california that someone just needs 100 hrs. of training minium to be considered a colonic specialist, that less than a medical assistant's training. That why I'm against colonics.

Here are a few quick workout tips that might help that pot belly lord knows I had one too lol!

I do sit ups in the front and on my sides three sets of 20.

Then with my legs either in the air or on a chair I do 100 crunches and I also do another set before I go to bed.

Also you can lay down straight and lift your legs straight in the air and back down I learned that from Pilates you actually feel your lower abs pull and tighten its soo good!

Also start jogging. I just started about a few weeks ago and boy do I see the changes already. I am up to 2 miles a day and working on 3. With a clean diet and 6 days a week of cardio you will see a change!

    Hope that helped!

I just recently had physical therapy treatment for my back. A lot of people when trying to tighten their stomachs forget that there are 2 sheets of muscle...the outer and the inner (the long muscles that help support your spine) The exercises are really easy, lay on your back with your knees bent and the key is to make sure that your spine is parallel to the floor...then do your crunches like that...and it really works...i had to do it for my back but now my stomach is all lined and stuff. Good luck!

Well, then it's not the colonics that you are against, it's the lack of education for administering the colonics, correct?

There are studies that show health benefits to getting colonics. In fact, most people have a form of meconium in their colons. Meconium (if I remember correctly) is caused (in adults) when the intestine is irritated (by a variety of factors). Having a colonic every once in a while helps rid that stuff from the colon, enabling your colon to do it's functions more effectively.

Of course, as with anything, I would seek out someone who is qualified, who has lots of experience, and someone who's history you can check on (through the BBB or local medical licensing agency).

Just like plastic surgery...it's not the actual procedure that is dangerous, just sometimes the person performing it. Be informed, search, and make the best decision you can.

How about the ones you can buy and use at home. Are those as effective and safe?

You also might try The South Beach Diet. It was not intended to target just the belly, but that is the first place people lose weight when on the diet. You should see results in just two weeks.

I love the South Beach Diet, and try to follow it pretty closely.

Actually I didnt mean doing the procedure at home but my friend used a colon cleansing system. I think you take pills or something but she said she lost a lot of stomach bulge from doing it.

If you google colonics,it'll bring up sites that tell you about cleansing through pills.

haven't we gone over this before? Get lipo and then worry about the toning. You need a doctore to remove the fat in an hour and see a result.

One of my closest friends had lipo her tummy. She was toned everywhere else and you could feel the abs when you touched her stomach, but she still had a teeny little pooch despite exercise and good diet.

A little lipo did wonders for her. Try diet and exercise first, but sometimes patches of fat are stubborn, that's what lipo's for.
