Okay Vaden, I remember you asking me about this. I haven't been around much on here the last few days because of a lot of reasons. One of which is I JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE not ten minutes ago getting the details wrapped up to get the car. I'm not getting 328 Ferrari, instead I'm getting a '94 348 Spider! My head is still spinning over this and best of all, I'm picking it up tomorrow on my birthday. I don't care how cold it gets out here in Vegas, I'm taking the top down and going for a drive down I-215 at speeds slightly above the speed limit.Originally Posted by VADEN

Good luck with it.....thats an amazing car.
Make sure you get some pics up.
What color is it?
here's some pics of my old car.
currently i'm driving a twin turbo SC300. will post pics soon.

It's about 10,000 miles overdue for the major maintenance and so it needs new belts, new timing chain, new hoses, new buschings, new boots, etc. Because of the way the engine is mounted in the 348, they have to drop it out of the car to do the work on it. The car is certainly drivable, but I don't want to run into any issues with it so it's going into the shop in 2 weeks. Estimated fees is about $6K. My wife still doesn't understand what the big deal is all about so I told her today, that her opinion will change once she sits in it.![]()

Yeah...i heard that about the engine. Most of that work that needs to be done is actually BS....those parts hardly need to be replaced as often as Ferrari "says" you should do it.....but like you said...better 6k now than 40k laterPlus, a piece of mind while driving a car hard is priceless.
Good luck with her....although im a coupe fan....im still jealous.
Here is my contribution to this thread.![]()

I'm totally a car person if it's foreign. In fact, I think I like certain cars more than most men. Put a nice looking guy in a Porsche though and it ups his attractiveness ten fold. I saw a Ferrari on ebay and asked my dad about the maintenance costs (he knows a guy who works on them) and he broke it down to about $4000-$10000/year. Maybe one day. Until then, I'll just take pictures with other people's Ferraris and tell the people walking by that it's mine.

There must be something wrong with me. Cars are not that important to me...and in fact I am amused by people who are so immensely impressed by someone simply because he/she is driving a certain type of car.....I don't need a Porsche to overcompensate for anything.

Most people dont even know what kind of car I have. Its a 1988....if I wanted to impress people I could've bought a 2004 BMW and still had money to spare compared to all the money I spent on my car. I do it for the love of the car....the love i have for driving and working on it.![]()
hey, you either are into them or you're not. My boyfriend is into comic books and toys which do nothing for me. If we all liked the same thing life would be so boring!
Hey, I'm not complaining or judging....especially when it's a car that someone actually works on. Now, that I can totally understand.

My dream car is my car.
The only Bush i like is between your legs.

Here it is...just got it on Saturday. This thing drives like an airplane. I was driving it late last night to go pick my wife up at the airport and some moron on the freeway next to me in a supped up Celica wanted to race. I gave him a head start and when I flew past him going 155 the look on his face was priceless.Originally Posted by AinNY

very nice car. i drove my buddies 360 modena a couple of times. ferrari's are so damn cool.
OMG, I'm jealous too... I'll bet you lock her up tight... Ooooo, you suck! How much did you get it for?
If you think school is hard, try being stupid.

I got it for around $60K. It needs some work and although the outside is immaculate, it needs to have it's scheduled service done which is going to run about $8K when it's all said an done. It also needs some other maintenance on the interior and some electrical work too. But hey, it's a Ferrari. If I wanted something cute and fu-fu like, I'd have bought a lexus. There really is nothing like driving this thing.

Nice Ferrari! My dad's friend that had one I think was the same model but not a convertible. He bought it like in 1992 or so so I'm not sure. I just remember he had like 2 or 3 mustangs stolen (his daily driver) all the while the beautiful Ferrari was locked up in the garage only feet away! If the theives only knew what they were missing!
